Bula, Ma’lelei, Talofa and Welcome to Season 07 Episode 16 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on a bright and sunny Tuesday morning 17 October 2023.Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. And then there were four - Argentina, New Zealand, England and South Africa after the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals. All the others have gone home. So at the RWC2023 semi-finals in Paris this weekend, it’s New Zealand versus Argentina on Saturday at 7am and on Sunday England versus South Africa. In rugby league: Note to Storm boss man Craig Bellamy: Double the salary of rookie fullback Sualauvi Fa’alogo or risk losing him, following his sizzling Test debut on Saturday night. The Toa Samoa star Fa’alogo was close to the best player on the field, despite Australia running out comfortable 38-12 winners in their Pacific Championships opener. The 20-year-old has played just one NRL game - when he scored a double against the Broncos in Round 27 - and he didn’t look remotely out of place against the world champions.Fa’alogo is currently on a development list contract of A$60,000 this year, but the Storm need to at least double that for 2024.Meanwhile, Kangaroos Coach Mal Meninga faces a big call on his backline.Selwyn Cobbo ticked off his Kangaroos debut on Saturday, but could lose his jersey as Valentine Holmes will be available for selection for Australia’s clash with New Zealand on 28 October, after serving a one-game suspension for an off-field incident. While Holmes has become one of the elite Centres in the game, he has also played 14 games on the Wing for Australia. In Combat sports: Two-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson has never been a huge fan of Tim Tszyu - but that all changed after his latest world title triumph against Brian Mendoza on Sunday.'I was wrong bout Tim Tszyu he looked better then I thought he was last night,' Stevenson wrote on X.Before the fight the undefeated American said he thought Mendoza would beat the Aussie and that he hadn't seen anything 'too special' from Tszyu - 'I think Mendoza beats Tim Tszyu,' Stevenson said at the time.In Football: Spain qualified for Euro2024 after beating Norway 1-0 away on Sunday, joined by Group A rivals Scotland and Türkiye from Group D.Earlier on Saturday, France, Portugal and Belgium were the first teams to qualify for the quadrennial event, set to take place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024.In SportsBiz and only in the USA: Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase insists he is always open on the football field and so gave himself the nickname “7-Eleven.”Now he has parlayed that into a marketing deal with the global retail franchise. And that’s a wrap 7-Eleven!For TeivovoSports.com I’m Culden Kamea – please hit the like and subscribe buttons below if you want to receive more Pasifika sports highlights on Breakfast Bites.Mahalo, Kakite and tank you all too mas for all your love and support.#TEIVOVORugby #TEIVOVODigital #TeivovoRugby #TeivovoDigital #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #Raka #team #rugbytraining #sports #FRU #Fiji #womensrugby #rugbygirls #wrugby #ladiesrugby #womeninsport #woman #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #fitness #weightlifting #training #team #rugbytraining #sports #rakavi #DevelopmentFiji
