His PhD thesis in the field of philosophy (University of Jyväskylä 2018) examined phenomenology of breathing. Together with Professor Lenart Škof, Petri coedited the world's first anthology on philosophy of breathing, Atmospheres of Breathing (SUNY Press 2018). Petri's first book Phenomenological Ontology of Breathing: The Respiratory Primacy of Being (Routledge) was published in 2023.       Petri is an inspiring lecturer and workshop leader.
