17 -- Carrot Egg and Coffee

from Thinking That Matters with Elizabeth Mahusay · host Elizabeth Mahusay

There was a young woman who complained to her mother about the multitude of problems that she had. The mother placed 3 pots of water on a fire...brought that water to a boil...put carrots in one pot, put eggs in the next pot and then coffee in the final pot. The mother then told the daughter to feel the carrots and egg and to drink the coffee. The mother went on to explain that all 3 ingredients faced the same adversity...the boiling water...and all 3 had different reactions The carrots went in firm and strong but come out soft The egg went in very fragile but came out hardboiled The coffee beans changed the water into a great cup of coffee Which are you?  The carrot? The egg? Or the coffee? The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything. Elizabeth Mahusay is passionate about thought transformation. Through her writing, speaking, and accountability groups, she helps individuals and organizations identify the foundational thoughts that form the basis of their beliefs, reject those that have a negative impact, and replace them with thoughts that lead to personal as well as organizational change.   Don’t let another day slip by on autopilot.
