This week I visit with my boy Neil Legend of ChampionFyre. We start off talking about Dads with kids in sports and our conversation takes a very interesting turn stressing the importance of being fully present and not be a “vacant father” Going to the games but not practice Playing or working with your kids outside of practice Being fully committed to your kids who express natural talent or desire to pursue sports Neil opens up how sports replaced what he was missing at home. It was a place he could take is frustration, anger, and disappointment out Looking for men that will push you “My dad was there but wasn’t there” Are we truly present when we are there with our kids Truly listening to your kids - Make time to listen to the kids perspective Neil highlights some things he plans to do differently with his kids.
