Dorothy Stratten was August 1979’s Playboy playmate, who was subsequently named Playmate of the Year in 1980. She was pursuing a career as an actress, as well, when she decided to leave her estranged husband, Paul Snider. Snider murdered her and killed himself on August 14, 1980.
