St. Dominic, a Saint renowned for his unparalleled serenity, is known as the lover of souls and the friend of Jesus Christ. His life was dedicated to the study of charity and his love for mankind knew no bounds. His hatred for heresy sprang from his profound love for souls. The word VERITAS, the motto of his Order, was for him another expression of the sweeter term CHARITAS. This truth, though it may be obscured in our time and place, is the essence of St. Dominics character, as well as that of other Saints who bear a deep aversion to anything opposing the truth. This divine instinct signifies their devotion to Gods Supreme Sovereignty and justifies their heroic efforts to safeguard faith and the tears they shed for souls lost in falsehood.
