17 July 22 - Luke 5:27-39 - Emmanuel Baikie - I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners

from Christ Church Surbiton Hill · host Christ Church Surbiton Hill

This sermon is part of a series called Good News for All. The title was "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners" The theme sentence was : Jesus has come to call sinners to repentance and my objective was to encourage us to believe and follow him. The thrust of the message was about the love of Jesus for sinners (all of humanity) who have become burdened with sin, a burden none of us could ever shake off. But he took our sin upon himself so we could find rest. Since he gave himself for us, our commitment to him ought to be total as we drink continually from the new wine of the Spirit.
