17 PIES

from Shakin' The Salt · host Dr. Debra Peppers

I love the idea of using the PIES to chart to help balance one’s life, because it makes such sense. The P stands for the physical parts of our life, the I stands for the intellectual E is for emotional and the S represents the spiritual side of life. In speaking and teaching I include two more slices of the pie, one represents family time and one represents either your work time or school. We all know that our day is not broken into such nice little slices of pies so to speak, but at least it gives us a perspective and view of where we spend our most time and energy. In our early years obviously we spend more time in school and as young adults working in the home or our professions. But can we really compartmentalize our spiritual, intellectual and emotional? Obviously there is much overlapping but we can ask ourselves which “slice of our pie“ is most neglected? For me, it was the spiritual. Eventually every aspect of my life began to change, and even now in retirement I asked God to refine any areas that are still lacking. Support the showSupport our ministry by clicking "Support the show" above where you will be directed to our website.
