He walks us through his early years growing up in rural Kentucky, and the family support and inner motivation that led him to pursue a degree in English from the University of Louisville. That experience opened many doors for Telly; and he went on to work as a translator for international soccer players in France, had great luck with door-to-door fundraising, closed life-changing gifts at the nation’s largest Boys & Girls Club chapter, and finally found himself at home at Georgia State in downtown Atlanta. Telly shares lots of stories on this episode – about the most memorable gifts he’s raised, the amazing donors and students that he has worked with, and the visible impact that makes fundraising work all worth it.
