170 \\ What Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Teaches Me About Humility
from Reps & Redemption | Christian Wellness, Mom Strength Training, Fitness Motivation, Biblical Health, Time-Saving Fitness, Energy Boosting Workouts, Fitness Goals for Moms, Holistic Health, Health Coach · host Ashley Harvey | Christian Health Coach, Nutrition Coach
Jiu-jitsu has a way of exposing weaknesses very quickly. Very similar to motherhood and walking out my faith with the Lord. In this episode, I’m sharing about a recent roll where I got caught twice by a lower-ranked training partner, why it bothered me, and what happened when I stopped reacting emotionally and started studying the mistakes. Instead of using one bad roll as proof that I was not progressing, I had to ask a better question: what did this actually expose, and what can I learn from it? In this episode, we talk about: • Why getting caught by someone you did not expect can hit the ego • The difference between being discouraged and being teachable • What I noticed about my posture and guillotine vulnerability • Why humility does not mean tearing yourself down • Why confidence and humility can exist at the same time • How motherhood, faith, and jiu-jitsu all reveal areas where we need correction • What happens when we stop making excuses and start studying the mistakes • Why being exposed is not the same thing as being defeated Main takeaway: You can be confident and still be correctable. Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is being willing to see yourself clearly enough to keep growing. Here is the YouTube Channel for you to come on by and take a visit! See you next week, Ashley
