172. Ghost with special guest Joshua Clement

from Movies That Made Us Gay · host Scott Youngbauer & Peter Lozano

"Molly you in danger girl." We watched the blockbuster romantic fantasy film Ghost directed by Jerry Zucker with our friend Joshua Clement, and all the sudden we feel the urge to take up pottery as a hobby. Ghost made over 500 million dollars in its theatrical run, and was one of the highest grossing romances of the 90s. After 32 years what's not to still love here. It has our forever movie hunk Patrick Swayze, prime Demi Moore as the most beautiful cryer in cinema history, Tony Goldwyn as one of the hottest villians ever, and let's not forget Whoopi Goldberg's Academy Award winning performance as Oda Mae Brown. We still quote, "Damn baby! What did you do to your hair?" and "Do you wanna kiss my butt", on the reg. We talk about what was in the water of the movies of the year 1990 (Pretty Woman, Field of Dreams, Dances With Wolves Goodfellas, Misery), the intimidating supporting actress catagory Whoopi was up against, and everyone's favorite Hollywood power couple Bruce and Demi. This movie may not have been meant for gay children in the 90s, but we're here to tell you this movie had a lasting effect on us. Stay away from the shadow demons, and bring your Demi pixie cut reference photo to your Regis it's Ghost!  Thanks for listening and don't forget to subscribe, rate and review us on Apple Podcasts! www.patreon.com/moviesthatmadeusgay Facebook/Instagram: @moviesthatmadeusgay Twitter: @MTMUGPod Scott Youngbauer: Twitter @oscarscott / Instagram @scottyoungballer Peter Lozano: Twitter/Instagram @peterlasagna
