He said it was a boy that says on the bathtast. No, yeah, yeah. And everyone's taken a piss. But the river was a passage that enjoyed it.

Hey, but I was... No, no, no, no. I didn't have to chip in for fuel, and I thought that was a payer. Hey, I'll see if I can petrol money anyplace.

He's had his doors, a door slayed in his face. A door slayed in his face. A door slayed in his face. What was your blood, blood, blood, blood, blood?

What was his name? We'd come to play with the door in his face, but we wouldn't need to be with him. Oh, really? That's all right.

Good morning, good afternoon. Good evening, listen to the old talk car podcast live at the Vanilla Bean in Bathurst. Good morning, all right. No, it's a group.

Can you hear the food? But it's a car one. We've got the roving reporters. You can hear.

We've got Rick Shaw here. And we've got Cox here from the UK. How you going mate? Yeah, very good.

We talked about your last year, we didn't get to talk to you. So we're here at the Bathurst six hour. Today was a bit of fun. Well, it didn't even mention the Kiwis.

The Kiwis are here too. You're going to be going to be there anyway. Well, you're racing two cars, two RX8s, the Kiwis are in one. OK, RX8s.

The RX8s? The RX8s are a rotor one. The RX8 rotor is a Kiwi crew, we've got Kiwi drivers and we've got a UK driver and everybody else is here. Aussies, there you go.

And so today was like, was it was a practice today? It was a qualifying today. Practice and qualifying. How'd you guys go?

We're not really worried about qualifying because it's a six hour race so I don't really care what we started. That's right. We didn't want to kill the car, but the car's great. We put it away.

There's cool conditions today. Very wet. Was it wet? It was a little bit wet yesterday.

And this is only when I first went out in the last place. Yeah, it was fine in quality. But you've got good tyres haven't you? No.

They make us run on these MRF things from India in their absolutely. And they've got everything around. Are they like the... They're from the wind stage.

Are we supposed to beat bits? Beat, beat, beat, beat. We've got a big audience in India. So basically, but they're controlled tyres.

Everyone's on it. Everyone's on it. Everyone's on the same problems. Everyone's got flats all over their tyres.

It's not a worse race tyre in the world. Yeah, but, yeah, it's the same. They're the same. If you all have much was fuel this year?

Two dollars, fifteen litre. Three, fifteen litre litre. I thought it went down. Three dollars.

Three dollars. No, two down. Back up the three. We're going to be staying with you.

We're just going to be out. It's a bit too late. I know, I know. It's three.

Yeah. Because at two o'clock in the afternoon it goes up. Yeah. Okay.

If you bring your colds, we have to get the four cents and roll up. Roll up. So the cars are running fine today. The cars are good.

The cars are good. Very happy. We need to qualify. I have no idea.

We don't care. I don't know. I saw your name on the screen. I ended up at 20 next to it.

It was a small game. It came in. Yeah, that was in the first session which we were in. And then the quick boys went out and then they were in the mail.

We'll just say it's pretty good. It's pretty good. It's nearly 70 cars in the race. It's less than 60.

It's more than last year. Last year is a lot. So you've got 70 cars. You're up with which, do they muck around your category again this year?

You're in the same. No, we've moved. It's taken five years to get it moved. You're in a better category now?

Better category now. So who you're racing up against? We are 86ers. Okay.

And the W Golf. Yeah, and the Honda. And the Honda's. And the Honda's like the Integra R's, the top.

What a loss lost it up the top today. Yeah. Okay. But a little one series B-Mart.

Get the wall up the top. And the zag spots. That's the reason. You're a great- You're a 6-year-1 for a fourth of a year.

Unfortunately, yes. Yeah. I remember that day. So, Coxy, you're from the UK.

You're a paid driver. Yeah. So, the KVF unit tonight. You go back a lot.

I didn't know he was even in the air on the track. I've been racing first night racing in 1980. Yeah. I've known it 80.

Yeah. So, what's that? 43 years. Is that way?

Back in the days where you could drive your own car from the showroom or? Yeah. I mean, yeah. You've started with your own road car.

But a roll page in it in Rover. It's just me and Barcelona. We did the Barcelona 24-hour race together. And how far back was that?

Maybe. A couple years back? Oh, good. It's often all like there used to be a driving instructor for Mr.

Boon. Were you the one atkerton, right? Right. See, you're reflexing his normal driving.

See, did you fit in the mini? No, no, no. It was before his misbeamed house. Right in that.

He was the Renault 5. I was racing the Renault 5. So, Roland atkerton was a, yeah, what it was, I was the Renault Works driver in the UK. And they had a celebrity car.

So, every week, every race had a different celebrity. And then, Roland atkanson came along with a celebrity. Yep. He played so much at the following year.

He asked them to run for a home season. And part of my payment, or me not to pay, was I became his teacher for a year. Taught him the Lions and where to break with, turn in on the race circuits in Britain. And we, yeah, he's got it.

He looks like the last type of guys. Once he puts his head to something. He's like serious. He's like crack a jokes.

He's not a comedian. He's not a comedian. He's a really good actor. Yeah, yeah, and he said to me, he said, I'm not a comedian.

Don't ask me to tell jokes. I'm here to learn how to race. I'm here to learn how to race. I'm just a good actor.

And I've got a funny face. And I've got a funny face. Yeah, and I've got a lot of money. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And yeah, and from there I could buy him a clarinet. Why don't you teach him how to drive that? Because he's smashed that. No, no, no, no.

No, no, no, no. This was way, way before McLaren started. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he's forgotten all the lessons he gave him right over by.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he chopped it on by a clarinet and bended. I think it was too quick for him. But at the same time, they repaired it because it was cost more.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They fixed it. No, he's a good guy. So you've done the burger ring?

I remember it was. I've done 25, 24-hour news. Wow. We've won it a few times.

I was finished in the top 10 one year. What's your favorite car over all the years? Like, was it the early days of error? Is it technology now?

Like, what have you found? Always driving a BMW. Like the M3. It's always the M3.

It was the E30s and the E46s. They're always a very stable car. Yeah. Always good.

And I love driving the RX. He doesn't want to say it. He doesn't want to say it. But he loves the RXX a bit of anything else.

Yeah, I mean, I was going to say, it's a great. It's a great. Like handling noise, the RX is fantastic. So I've been in here with Bridget.

With a rotary engine, have you found, do you adjust it the way you race the car? Oh, yeah. It takes me a little while to train from the VM because the VM's got great low down power. It's got lots of talk to them.

So you've got to rev it out. So then when I'll get back in the right mode, it's good. No, I enjoy it. That's good.

Rickville's a fantastic car. So, love it. We've got Maisie here who's a qualified mechanic in her own right. Well, good.

And a rotary mechanic. And she's a race car driver. She runs on a one-make race series of Master RX 8s, which is a series I run. She's here crewing for us, mechanic in our car.

So you're not racing this path this, but you're helping out with the tools? Yeah. I'm doing Drake coming and helping Rick at these events because you learn a hell of a lot and you make some great people. I really like it.

So, I don't want to, you don't want to space the ask how old, but a range of how old you are and how long you've been racing for. Because you don't look as old as Coxy. That's what I'm saying. So there you go.

That was a good shot for me. I started as an mechanic when I was 16. Started racing when I was 17. I'm now 23.

Well, you see that? I'm here. I'm here. And it's your first year in our state.

No, I actually joined the RCA club in the first year and started. Oh, wow. And so I originally bought a car for short. Yep.

And then in 2019 I crashed it, rebuilt it. I had no faith in the car anymore. Even though I repaired the car fine and car was straight, it seats straight in the back of my car. And Rick sold your good car.

I'm the one who broke it. Okay. And yes, I ended up building another car myself to race and at least in out the old car. And then realized that I really enjoyed building my car so I go to third one and at least two out now.

And she's giving them nine. Yes, I've got Elvis, Dan, and Froder. Okay, so what's Elvis? More hits than Elvis.

That's the RX-8. Yeah, they're all RX-8. They're all in RX-8. Okay.

And what are the other two called? Sorry, Elvis Frogger, which is the one I drive. And Dineco. We just dodged the crappy.

Lime grade. And the last one. Dineco. Is that from cars?

Is that from the blue? Yeah. The blue one. I think it was king in the car, doesn't it?

Yeah, yeah. That's the 70s one. Is that the blue one? Was that the swed?

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That was a great one. Yeah.

That was a great one. Yeah. That was a great one. Yeah.

So I think he's got a blindie, equipment. All the persons who sold the car. What's up, Ritz? What's up, Ritz?

What's up, Wreny? Did it come in number one? Did it come with a blue slip? Well, I think it's still handwritten on it, so I can blame him.

That's it. All the parking tickets. Yeah, yeah. That's it.

What do you want to do? We've found the name of the show, the episode. It's all Ritz files. Always Ritz files.

Well, that's great. And you're enjoying... Is this your first year at Baffers? I was here from last year, and I've been a spectator at Baffers.

Oh, you know your way around. Yeah. The next place we've got here is the time. Sure way, how are you going?

How are we going? Good. Back on the show. Thanks, mate.

Good. Great to be back at Baffes. You're looking forward to it? Did you get a run today?

Not today. You get a run? I had the suit on ready to go, but some pangaroos family. I thought you knew the guy that runs it too.

Yeah. Is that right? He's not bad. He's alright.

They red flag decision for a kingaroo. One kingaroo. Nah, there's a couple at the top. Yeah.

A 40 minute session. We were going to Harvard, 20 minutes each with Dave Fox and I. Yeah. I'm going to get some laps under his belt and he's ready to go for the maroon.

We'll be starting to take photos, guys. Go, go, go. Watch out to the Merberry. I can do it with bears.

Big B bottles. Say tomorrow you're going to get a stint, obviously. It's six hours. The rules regulate the street drivers in the first half.

Yeah, they're going to do most of it tomorrow. Dave's going to start and then Tom's going to jump. So you're going to have a late night tonight and do the last year, the last hour. That's right.

Yeah, yeah. He's left from Zack. This time he's going out from Zack. What was the story, Zack?

So you went to the pub. I went to the pub. We're going to attack with your ribbon. And I met this girl there and she noticed a wristband.

She said, are you a driver? And I said, oh yeah. She said, what's your name? I said, Rick Shaw.

And the two AM she goes, why don't you make me drive when I sit here? It's a long race. I'm just going to bring it home. That's all Rick's doing.

Rick's doing. He's going to bring it home. He's going to be out with Zack tonight. He's going to be with Zack tonight.

He's going to come home. He's going to bring it home. And then I'll drive the bus home from Bratas to Sydney this week. And I'll just come up at two days to kill it.

Yeah, you're all right. You'll get to be the fact-body we should. You're taking down those. He's got a way to go.

He's got a one in. What's he got? A one in. That one's there.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, straight on. Have you driven a one in? Yeah.

I've driven the one in. Have you ever twitched that? No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. No.

No. No. No. Well, guys, good luck tomorrow.

Enjoy the race. Thanks very much. And to come first, you have to finish the race. Finish first, first, first.

Finish. That too. But Charlie, race against the golf. I think I'm stopping to this shopping anyway, so you guys will be right.

Yeah. And some past 86, that's interesting. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, so good luck tomorrow.

Thank you again for having us up in the Big Gruen.
