172. Senator Leo Housakos - Canada is Broken

Leo Housakos was appointed to the Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2008. He went on to be named Speaker of the Senate by Prime Minister Harper in 2015. Senator Housakos has served on various committees, including as Chair on several such as Foreign Affairs and International Trade and currently as Chair of Transport and Communications. Senator Housakos has been very vocal on many topics both inside the chamber and is a strong voice in speaking out in defence of human rights, freedom, democracy and rule of law.
