172 | Vashti's removal (ESTHER 1)
from Holy Lit: The Bible · host Allen
The Persian Empire, around 483 BCE. It runs from the Indus Valley in the east — what is now Pakistan and northwest India — to the region the Bible calls Cush in the west, covering modern Sudan and northern Ethiopia. That's 127 provinces across most of the known world. The capital for our story is Susa, called Shushan in Hebrew, one of the king's main seats of power. The man at the top is King Ahasuerus. You may also know him by his Greek name, Xerxes — we'll get to why there are two names later. For now: vast empire, powerful king, city of Susa. That's the stage.Source:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PXJjfvBwGuwXqGF5sYoYXrg0QlHRknkv/view?usp=sharing
