173: A Reverse Reformation?

from TruthCurrents · host Evergreen Church | Tulsa, OK

I lost some church members recently. They left evangelicalism to become Roman Catholic. That surprised me because I would consider that a reverse reformation. But as I did some research, it turns out that there is a slight trend, right now, of people leaving Protestantism, disillusioned with a variety of things, to make their way back to the church of Rome. How do we think about this theologically? How do we assess the differences in the branches of Christianity and the options available to us? How do we answer people who say that they are going back to the original church?Bekah McCallum, “Pilgrimage to Rome,” World Magazine, January 2025.Andrew Voigt, “Some Evangelicals Are Leaving Protestantism for Other Traditions,” August 13, 2024.Gavin Ortlund.
