John 17:9 With Jesus Behind The Veil-Part 8 Pastor Phil Ballmaier Calvary Chapel Elk Grove 3-13-22 Join Pastor Phil Ballmaier of Calvary Chapel Elk Grove as he works his way through the Gospel of John on Sunday Mornings. Today we continue in Chapter 17 in Part 8 of, "With Jesus Behind The Veil". Did you know that Jesus knows those who are His by name? That He even knows the number of hairs on our head? Jesus said in John 10, "“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep," and "“I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own." Jesus was just hours now from the Cross, and was readying Himself and praying not only for His disciples, but all believers to come in history... Do you know The Good Shepherd? John 17 is known as ‘the High Priestly prayer of Jesus.’ We see Jesus praying like no other time in history. First He prays for Himself (verses 1-5), for the Disciples (verses 6-19) and for us and all believers to come (verses 20-26). In today's verses He begins, "the hour has come..." The Cross was set before Him when man's redemption and God's plan and perfect timing would come together to redeem all men who would choose Him throughout time.
