176. IVF – Sometimes It’s A Numbers Game
from The IVF Journey with Dr Michael Chapman · host The IVF Journey with Dr Michael Chapman
How many times can a couple try IVF? According to Professor Chapman, his highest record with an IVF couple is 39 cycles. They were persistent. The average patient goes through somewhere between 2 ½ and 3 cyles. Prof explains that the number of embryos can influence the likelihood of pregnancy. The more embryos there are, the greater the potential for the embryo to attach, and the higher the chance of getting pregnant. For example, 3 good embryos increase your chance of conceiving by 75%. But having say 30 embryos isn’t really necessary. Can you think of someone else who might benefit from this episode? Please do share it with them.
