"Family we have to tighten the budget" to a kid, that's probably worse than hearing mom and dad tell them to eat their vegetables. Cutting things out of the budget is uncomfortable for all of us. But, with so many people losing their jobs or agreeing to take a pay cut, tightening the belt is a "must do" for many families. How do you explain it to the kids in a way that won't get them worked up and more worried than they already are with the changes they've experienced these past few months?
