179 KEN JORGENSEN - The Origins & History of Ruger, Wind & the Long Shot, Finding that Proper Load

from Deer Hunt by Big Buck Registry · host Jay Scott Ammann

As far as gun manufacturing goes, Ruger is a relatively young company.  The principles that William Ruger founded the company upon in 1949 still exist today, deep within the Ruger culture.  Ken Jorgensen knows this first hand as Ruger's Media Relations Director.  The Sturm, Ruger Company was founded on a few fundamental principles which include concepts like: a rifle should not cost more than a mans standard week's pay, you shouldn't cash a customer's check until the product is ready to ship, a company shouldn't borrower money, and that a gun companies success is based on it's ability to innovate and give the gun owner a reason to buy a new gun. Ruger is alive and well and Ken shares his knowledge of the history of the company, how he learned to read the wind for long 600+ yard shots, and how he goes about finding the right load for a new gun.
