畫說漢字/圖解《說文解字》/1000個漢字的故事/東漢許慎原著邦（bāng）甲骨文的字形由“田”和“木”两部分组成，“田”指的是人们的聚居之地，而“木”则是分割聚居地的树木。金文用“邑”字替代了“田”。由此可见，“邦”字象征的就是独立的有一定规模的城邑。《说文》解释：“邦，国也。”随着时代的发展，这个字就成了国家的泛称。现在世界上还有20多个国家实行联邦制，其中最典型的就是美国、德国、澳大利亚。（树木圈出的独立邦国，逐渐发展为广大的国家。）
