Adrian Ortega is an award-winning narrative and documentary filmmaker. His debut feature film Cerulean Blue premiered to sold out crowds at the 68th Melbourne International Film Festival (2019) and won the El Rey Award for Excellence in Film Directing at the Barcelona International Film Festival (2019). It's currently streaming on Stan in Australia and Amazon Prime in the US and UK. His second feature film Westgate is currently in production and set for release in 2025. On this episode Adrian shares with us his different approaches to creating a documentary vs feature film, the process from ideation through to distribution, how he draws inspiration from his personal life and experiences, the importance of creating authentically, the lessons he’s learnt from some of the greats and much more.
