In dieser Episode stelle ich das klassische Argument gegen die Willensfreiheit vor. Der Philosoph Arthur Schopenhauer hat es im 19. Jahrhundert ganz gut verständlich formuliert: Einerseits ist alles, was wir erleben, durch Ursachen bestimmt (Determinismus). Andererseits wäre der „freie“ Wille etwas, das nicht vorherbestimmt ist (Inkompatibilismus). Beides zusammen, sagt Schopenhauer, können wir nicht haben.
