from So You Want To Be Creative Hosted by Andrew Valdivia
On todays episode we focus on not getting ahead of yourself. Here are some pieces of advice to keep in mind when embarking on a new creative endeavor. Define your goals, before you begin, take some time to define your goals for the project. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to communicate? Knowing your goals will help you stay focused and motivated throughout the process. Brainstorm, take some time to brainstorm and explore different ideas. Don't be afraid to write down anything that comes to mind, even if it seems silly or unrealistic. Sometimes the most creative ideas come from unexpected places. Create a plan, once you have a general idea of what you want to create, create a plan. Break the project down into smaller, more manageable tasks, and create a timeline for completing each task. Gather inspiration look for inspiration in other creative works. Read books, watch movies, listen to music, and visit art galleries. Don't copy other artists, but use their work as a starting point for your own ideas. Take breaks, creative work can be mentally exhausting, so it's important to take breaks when you need them. Step away from your project for a few hours or days to give your mind a break and come back to it with fresh eyes. Stay organized and keep your work area organized and keep track of your progress. This will help you stay on track and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Remember, creativity is a process, and it's important to enjoy the journey as much as the final product.
