You are now listening to the UK and the world's favourite wrestling podcast. R.T.M. wrestling with your host Andy and Emma. And you start?
It's on. I just saw you had a bit of a chug on your inhaler before we started. OK. Now, I've got a beef that I'd like to raise.
With me personally, I don't know what I'd say. No, no, no. I've got a beef with Hollywood because they make anyone who's asthmatic out to be around where you don't they? Like the fuck is this?
The type of someone taking a shot on their inhaler over the fuckers is like seeing us like some Dweeboo's like overwhelmed or something. I can't do sports. Yeah, nobody who uses it in a halo in Hollywood is actually asthmatic. They just have panic attacks because they're nerds.
I just think it's grim that. Remember the term nerds, ladies and gentlemen? Because we'll be coming back to that very soon. Do you know what?
I just find it very insulting. And I don't know what you have. Ask Mar. Can't give a fuck.
Although I won't get angry on your behalf because that just makes me one of those hateful people. I'll be there on Twitter later going asthmatic to you know. Freedom for asthmatic. You've got something you can ask me.
That sounds about right. Yeah. How you doing? Oh shit, that's about to say that.
You asked me first if you want. No, I'll answer. You've asked me so I'll answer. I'm fine.
I'm OK. I feel like it's been ages since we've done podcast. Yeah, it's been coming by weekly. Oh, which is a shame.
Which sucks. I can't put the effort in to it as much. No, which hence why it's a fucking debacle of it was right. Just to let everyone know.
Andy said, because he's very busy with college. Gemma, can you sort of just pull some things together for us to talk about, well, does that mean to a right-tales of internet, panicked? Yeah. I wrote nothing down on a Word document.
I think I copied and pasted a tweet into there. OK. Just that's only kind. That's not what I was saying.
Yeah, we'll get onto that. Yeah, we'll get onto that. Yeah, so this is going to be fairly disjointed. We've got a few bits to talk about.
We've got a few things to talk about. Yeah, I think. And since the reaction to the last show, we had a few people basically saying why bother putting all that effort in that. Which is good on one hand because it means I don't have to do that anymore.
But it's bad on the other because I did enjoy it. I did enjoy putting all the news for the different companies together and all that kind of stuff. But at the end of the day, most of the stuff you guys know, and this is the overwhelming thing we had back was, we don't need to know the news. And this is paraphrasing.
Nobody was this like, harsh. But we don't need to know the news. We know the fucking news. Just talk about it.
Just talk for a bit. So there's no point in going through a G1 bracket for you. There's no point in fucking going on about what's coming up on shows this week and all that jazz. So there's no point.
So we've got three topics. We'll probably tangent off from there. Yeah. Yeah.
How are you? Not in a house think it has a mouth. Don't be bad. Yeah, I'm all right.
I feel all of a sudden I feel very tired because I don't want, you know, we've been saying this last couple of shows is we want to be having a laugh and that kind of stuff. I don't know how much we're going to be laughing at this. Well, you know, I've got a few things where I'm going to try and turn it on. It's had a little bit.
But yeah, I've been balls deep in college, which is hard. I didn't think it'd be as hard as it is. Yeah, I suppose to work today and I just didn't, just didn't fucking work today. You'll work when you're dead.
Well, I think I'll work for the world. Yeah, maybe here. I'll see. I've got a full weekend to get some stuff done.
I feel like I've got a lot of stuff and I don't, you know, when you feel like you've got too much and you just don't want to look at it. Yeah. It's like it's going to take hours and hours and hours. Getting started is the hardest thing.
Once you're starting to find it's just that getting started because all you can think about, if you're anything like me is, I can't be asked. Yeah, exactly. And that's the main kind of issue is I can't be asked. I don't get why it's this intense this quick, but you know, it is one of them.
But I'm, I was, I've been carrying it all in an hour in today about maybe staying up for rampage, but you know, it's like free in the morning. I just don't, I don't get a coffee. Maybe put it on then because they've got this buy in thing which you don't even know like why, but we'll probably talk about that when we start. But yeah, I think in general, I'm all right.
I watched an episode of New Trunks yesterday before I came up, came to bed. And I've not watched that for weeks and fuck was it good? It's just high quality. It's just high quality.
Did you make me feel like you were slipping on a pair of really comfy like, you know, trusty slippers when you watch it? Not quite because the drama king was doing commentary and because Gary Kelly's, he's literally balls deep in that G1 at the moment. But the G1 show was like, because they're so long, like three hour long show, some of them. I'm just like, I feel like I don't have three hours, but I'll sit and play like video games for hours and hours and hours or play the guitar for a bit.
You know, so I do have those three hours. But for some reason that's just not clicking with me at the moment because I'm so far behind I think I don't know what's going on. G-bomb eyes. But yeah, the new Japan's wrong this week and I think tomorrow night is the next one.
It was like Fred Rosser, so Darren Young against Suzuki, which was great. How has that completely gone out in my head? What even happened? Oh, Red Nerita and Filthy Tom.
Why can't I think what made it out in my eyes? No, I just, okay. Literally that's how tiny I'm okay. I can't even remember what I watched yesterday.
Let alone relay it on a show. So yeah, that I really enjoyed. Other than watching AW, I've not watched any of the wrestling for like weeks, like not even ROH, because the ROH thing was no fans. He's starting to piss me off.
There's no reason. There's no reason why there should be fans. And on the Delveres show, he said he spoke to somebody in ROH. And they said that actually some of them are some of the wrestlers like, oh, no, no, I've not got fans.
But some people within ROH gave the reason why there's no fans is because they don't want spoilers getting out. It's like, bitch, nobody fucking watches that show. You need to get over that. That's just a small problem for the sake of a battle.
It's a fucking advert, if anything else. That's what they said. They said it was an advert. If something good happens on a show, it's a fucking advert.
There's only about maybe 50,000 people watching it. That's really depressing. I think it's just, I don't know. I didn't believe it, but obviously I kind of trust them.
So either fuck knows, but still. Yeah, it's been a weird week. It's kind of been all over the place this week. The Fridays keep rolling in quick, don't they?
They do. Yeah. I think because there was no dynamite on Wednesday. It felt weird.
It threw me off a little bit. And usually I'll have watched that at the very least. Yeah. To be honest, I've not even been on any ragsheets.
I've not looked at like Wrestling Observer. I've literally not done anything. I've listened to the Wrestling Observer Live, which we'll get to in a sec. Not get to them in a second.
We'll get to the point I'm going to make now is I'm fucking sick of area about WWE. I'm sick of it. Have we started? No, no, no, I'm not started.
It's something that was the come fridge. We've got a mini fridge right, guys. Listen, I don't know if you can hear it. I still don't know.
It's fucking loud. It was a distant form. Okay. I run a business and for six months, last year, me and my business plan had an office.
One of the casualties that I had adopted from the office was a mini fridge. And I didn't have the heart to sell it. I fucking want that. I know.
I did a website table for a short while. It was never plugging. I was going to plug it in and put cans in it. Well, not cinnies.
But now it's next to our over fridge because our over fridge is fucking over flowing. I'm going to have to do it. I'm going to have to do it. If I had a fucking mini fridge next to that, I've been hearing it or something.
That's a problem. Yeah, but you don't drink at all. So that would never happen. Do the other time.
Straight edge. I don't don't don't don't. Do you know what? Right.
Let's let's let's let's let's talk about this. Has there ever been a more uncool thing to call somebody as in straight edge? Like I've never even went like the whole punk, you know, punk was at his height and all this kind of stuff. I always thought that was a bit shit.
Well, I straight edge. It sounds like a vegan trying to give me crap for eating a burger. Do you really? Does it come from?
I know this is going to sound really a bit. Yeah. It's kind of a punk music. Yeah, I'm pretty certain is.
Yeah. I've heard the term straight edge by like people other than see on punk. Yes. So it's just rubbish.
It's in one of those do we know again the topic of the topic of the show this week guys is weaves. That's there's no other way around it. It's more. It's pure nerds, which you know, when you're wrestling podcast, so say that what you will have we called something a nerd.
But I don't know if this like do we be culture. Excuse me. I've not got COVID to do this. I'm all these all these kind of subculture and shit.
I don't know. I just feel too old now. Like yeah, I wear like rock t-shirts and wrestling t-shirts and stuff. But whenever I hear about these things, I just think get on with it.
I think I know this sounds like a bit. Shut me. A bit like whatever. But I think it's I know I'm probably wrong because you see I'm punk is, you know, like for your weather.
But I think a lot of people it's a young thing because people are, you know, when you're young, you find your identity through different shit. So like when we were growing up. Yeah, I've got to put some. It's like music.
So you find your identity for a music nameless. You kind of start wearing band t-shirts and then every con in school and on Unifonday because you're a washer. And you're like, oh, yeah. And that's you then.
That's your box that you sit in for the rest of school. So it's the same with like what you find with it because you're like, yeah, that's what I think some people I get. Some people's identities just are discovered in really uncool ways. If somebody came up to it like because the thing is if you tacking yourself with that kind of label, you're going to say it.
So it's going to be, you know, if there are any vegans listening, like I'm sure this isn't you. But every vegan I've ever met within five minutes of meeting them, I've known the vegan. Like people within five minutes of meeting me, maybe people can guess but they don't know what I mean. Or that I have you or that I own a flat or that I'm going to call it.
You know, they're all, to me, they're all like bigger, bigger things in the pecking order, whether or not you eat an animal. You know, it's so fucking stupid. So if I was like out of something, not that I ever would be and somebody came up and went, I'm straight edge. I'd be like, okay, I never want to speak to you again because you were a weirdo.
I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm getting old. I think it's getting older than you.
Would you agree that that's lame though? Of course it's- Because I would say, you know, if I was that straight edge, I'd say I don't drink and I don't do drugs. I wouldn't say I'm straight edge because it sounds crap. It sounds like you're part of a weird society that like fucking butches animals.
Like, I know that's probably a bit- Oh, you mean, I know you mean me. But it's just weird giving it a tagline. It's something you don't need. The other person doesn't need to know.
It's like when people get really obsessed with, I've been in workplaces where people have been quite obsessed with finding out if a certain person's gay. Like the person, you know, if a person's not out and you know, like talking about it and they're just going about doing their job, then the conversation you hear about people, do you think they're gay? It's like fucking cares. It's like, I don't know if they're having sex with it.
It's really fucking weird. It would be like, it would make sense if we lived in a weird world where our openers were about sex and we were constantly talking about it. But it's like, well, why do you give a fuck? And it's the same way if you're introducing yourself about something like your diet.
Something as weird as your diet. It's a very strange introduction. It's a really odd way to intro yourself. It's like, I don't give a shit what you eat.
Yeah. I'd much rather know your name. Yeah, what's your name? What's your name?
What's your answer is not eating meat. Yeah. So this is the fucking thing. The only time I should hear when somebody's a vegan.
Oh, I'm getting a top what we know is diet. What is intro, ever this? The only time I need to fucking hear that, and it's never going to happen because the situation would never arise, is if we're in a restaurant and I order a steak and say, do you want a steak? And they go, oh no, I'm actually vegan so I'm going to go for something else.
Okay, cool. I'll give a fuck. What's it to me? I don't give a shit.
Why do people give a fuck about what other people do? It's just the craziest fucking thing. I feel like this is turning into a therapy session rather than a wrestling podcast. It does tie into what we're talking about though.
Yeah, yeah. It does. Oh, please. Shall we just go with this?
I feel like the me, will to lives getting sat already. But anyway, fuck it. Let's go. Some of the vape first.
No cheeky, cheeky drag. Hello everyone and welcome to Atty M wrestling. It is episode whatever. What is it?
181. 181. And we are, yes, we're Atty M. It's the jam of takeover.
Don't know what I'm doing. A fucking excuse me. I didn't know he had so done. I was like, so shocked then.
What the fuck? What the fuck? She knew it. I didn't say it.
No, I'm joking. I'm joking. I did say to you before you should lead it. I know what I've said.
Absolutely not because I'm scared. But you did anyway because you're a Bellini-ed. It's more so fun. Okay.
What's the difference between emotional and Bellini? Bellini, I believe, is peach. I think it's peach and... Okay.
I'm pretty sure we're talking Champagne-er. I'm on Prosecco and Orange Juice. Oh yeah. That's a bit of a straw.
That's decent orange juice. You're not talking. It's not decent Prosecco. That doesn't matter.
The mix is where it's at. The mix is where it's at. Yes, suppose so. Hello everyone and welcome once again to RTM Wrestling.
It's absolutely 181 if you can fucking believe it, ladies and gentlemen. How are you doing? I hope you're all well. Hope you're all safe.
Hope you've not got COVID. And hopefully we're getting back to some sort of normality. We are RTM Wrestling at a wrestling podcast, if you can believe that as well. You know where to find it because you're listening to it.
So if you want to join us in our wonderful conversations about the world of professional wrestling and I'm emphasising that professional wrestling joiners on Twitter at RTM Wrestling. And we'll read some shit out. Not sweet, openly for a little bit. Because I've just been all over the place.
I hope you're all safe. And what have we got to talk about today? Well, ladies and gentlemen, do you remember when you're at school? And there was always those real nerds in the class.
I'm going to leave it up to you whether you think I was one of them or not. But there was always those nerds in the class that would fight over things and winge about stuff like Pokemon cards or which video game character is better than the other one. Or whether or not you could make a... Right, here's a little backstory for you.
Yes, I was one of those nerds. Gals, if you're listening mate, I don't know if you remember this, but if you're doing a message mate, because I just remembered it now and it's fucking hilarious. I used to play, enough playthings like Magic the Gathering, still do play Magic the Gathering, it's very fun. But only online.
Can't be asked paying for that shit. So I get beat a lot because I'm going to put me on money into it. I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Now, I remember going to a tournament, right?
And I might be egging this up. So Gals, please, if you're listening, confirm or deny. But I had a tournament, it was like a five or something like that. I'll make way and use the fucking win them all.
I'm sure I talked about it before. But I was playing this guy and he was the sweatiest dude you've ever seen. His hair was a fucking mess. He was less than say how he is.
He was a big fat shit. And I was playing the guy. And I don't know, I must have done something wrong. Right?
Because he's trying to pull officials over. And he's pulling... And I remember him, he kept saying to me, check the rulebook. And I was like, dude, I don't care.
I remember saying to him, I really don't care at this point. Because I played a card when I shouldn't play the card or something like that. But I assumed you could. And I think in the end I was right.
And I ended up beating this guy like the only time I've probably won one. But I was like, fuck, this is supposed to be fun. Yes. This is supposed to be fun.
Yeah. But there's always these fucking people who are trying to take something like nerd culture. Because I would class wrestling as massively nerd culture. With an average demographic age, by the way, of over 50.
That watches both of these fucking shows. And they're desperate to make it not fun. And I don't think that's the real crux of it. I think what it really is is the desperate for the fair weather fans.
Like people who are not actually into it. It's the most insane thing. But there's always these fucking people who are trying to make it uncool. And unfortunately, at the moment, the two biggest contributors to whether or not wrestling, or not whether or not wrestling is cool, but the two biggest contributors towards wrestling not being cool are WWE and AEW.
It's fucking unbelievable. And I'm sure you've all seen it. The back and forth snipes. Tony Khan losing his shit.
Putting an extra half an hour on to fuck with him. Doing a YouTube show to try and fuck with him back. Oh, we're going commercial free. Oh, well, we could go commercial free too, because I've got more money.
Christ. Talk about auto fucking losers. Do you know what? It makes me feel like I'm at some sort of family wedding.
And so if you go in on, and I'm just trying to win a pro on cocktail, or keep me fucking out down in a joint night, I just want to do the fucking Congo bitches. Like, well, everyone's having a fucking war. And you just feel so humiliated that you're associated with any of these people. It's like, I do feel embarrassed that I'm an AEW fan at the moment.
And I would be embarrassed for WWE fan too. But like, I do feel quite, I don't know. I don't know if it's like a moral high ground thing that I've got some weird complex because I don't care in the sense of I'm not in it the way that people like, obviously, Toby cans in it, you know, he's in it, obviously, he's talking eyeballs by the tune of like millions of dollars. But I just want to watch and enjoy a show that I've chosen to watch and enjoy.
I don't want to watch that show or hear about that show in any capacity on social media in the same breath as a show that's got absolutely nothing to do with it anymore. Like nothing. I thought it ended, if I'm being perfectly honest, and it's really naive with me. I thought all the shit ended when they quite comfortably, both parties agreed that we're sports entertainment and we're pro wrestling.
I thought it was over. You know, CM Punk coming out and sort of saying it as like the final cherry on the cake. That's it. That's it to me, then it's done.
You throw yourself then with the companies that are also professional wrestling. And that will be the media bits thing, which is essentially like the Disney of wrestling. Let them go and do their fucking thing. And now it's like, I thought we'd go over this guy.
I thought this was done. But the problem is, and I know I'm sure like I'm going to be going over ground, I don't know that we'll talk about. Just as far as we're losing his seat. Well, I think like we, a Vince McMahon of quite obviously gets a really hard cock when he's in competition with someone.
And that con has not been hard for like what, 20, 30 years? Yeah. It's been flossing. Flapping against his leg and his pants.
Unhappied flaccid. He's not fucking snocking Trish on telly anymore. He's all flaccid. Figuratively and physically.
Okay. Now, now Tony Khan comes on scene and it's fucking rock hard again. He's fucking poking through his pants now. But it's not because the show sucks.
But what I'm saying is, it's really fired him up. It's fired him up. And his show sucks to us. And a lot of their own fans have been upset about how the women have been treated in this fucking Queen of the Ring and all that.
You know what? Fuck those people. Because what did you expect? Well, exactly.
But you know, like the thing is it's a slow chip chip chip away. If you're going to leave, if you're going to move to say like you're going to start watching New Japan more and things like that, then it takes time. It's took us a lot of time. You know, it takes fucking years to get out of it.
So, you know, you can only get, you can get out, you're out entitled to still get pissed off and still watch it. But all of our years talk about our noise chip chip. How great NXT. But then we still went to WrestleMania, which is like the book of the women's fans watching the main show.
We watched one NXT show and we watched like shit loads of the main show. And it was great. It was really, really great. But we've now got this thing where Vince is fucking absolutely got a rock on and he's really enjoying himself.
And what he underestimated is, can's also got a rock on for this show, which is proven. But the thing with the difference is that Vince with his age, he can hold the jizz, where he's pro-trollin' and chakilly. On every show that he's got. He is going not, he's not it.
He is going not it. He's not it everywhere. He's not it everywhere. If you want any more of that, fine analogy.
Do, do, do. Because that's fucking disgusting. But he's not going to describe it. It's true.
He's blowing his warts like. Willy Wagglin, two fucking men. Two men. Two billion airmen.
Willy Wagglin. We saw it with Elon Musk and the Space Race and all that shit. It's like, man, love it. Then we've got that.
But that actually, like, you know, I mean, I didn't see him like Willy Wagglin. For the space race thing. But that actually matters. Like, this is just an entertainment show.
And the thing for me, so my kind of view on it is Tony Khan, you know, going off on one, is I think if I was younger, so if you say, like, we kind of spoke about this last night as well, just like, kind of talking about it. I think if I was younger and I was either on WWE side or AEW side, I think I'd be a bit more caught up in it. But that young version of me, the caught up person, is a bit of a casual fan. It is a bit of a casual fan.
It isn't a constant watch every week thing. So like, from my point of view, is I made a decision to stop watching WWE because I don't like the show. And I don't like what they do with the wrestlers. And it's too predictable.
And the wrestling quality isn't anywhere near the wrestling quality that I need it to be. And the last sort of nail in the coffin was the change to NXT 2.0. Because I was gone long before that. Well, that final change is okay.
Well, at least you're showing your hand now and you're telling me what you are. Like, for years, they've lied about being a wrestling show and wanting to be a great wrestling show. So that's totally fine. So I was like, right, I don't want anything to do with these guys anymore.
Because of all the underhanded, shady shit that they do, like sacking loads of people during the pandemic. And I sort of think like Bryan tweeted a, I think quote, tweeted a news story from yesterday. That said, WWE accused of leaking news. Bad news or something like that about AEW to the press.
I was like, how the fuck is that news? Like, we spoke about that months ago. It's like they do it all the time. And what you do is you can either accept it and just keep watching the show.
Or if it's too much for you, move on. Because we did a massive show about, I think probably about a year ago now. Like fuck these guys. The scumbags.
They're really unethical. Like, they're letting people fucking just rot away and then releasing them during a pandemic. Like releasing the kinelluses while she's pregnant. It's all this stuff that they don't need to do because they're more profitable than the other bit.
But that's their own decision. And I can make my own decision of not watching anymore. That's why I don't give them any money anymore. So you start watching AEW.
It's great. That's just my opinion. I'm not telling you to think it's great. But I'm watching it.
I'm loving it. So they start bringing all these other guys. And it's day view after day view after day view. I'm like, okay, you know, well, maybe it'll help with the business side of things or council.
But I don't really care whether or not Brian Danielson's there or not. I'm still going to watch it. They're not bringing Daniel Bryan, Dr. Bryan.
They're not bringing Brian Danielson in for me. Like, I think it's great that he's there and some of the matches have been fantastic and he's against Suzuki tonight. He clearly thinks it's great there as well. Who?
Brian. He's having the time of his fucking life. I don't know. But this is thing I don't care.
I don't care if he's having a good time. He's doing a job. Do I want him to have a good time? Yes.
But at the end of the day, I don't give a fuck about that. Do I really give a fuck about seeing punks, not wrestling for seven years and he's back on the TV? No, because I have issues with seeing punks. So they're not bringing seeing punking for me.
They've already got me. Like, I'm already a fan. So what are they doing it for? They're doing it to try and get more fans.
And he's like, okay, yeah, that's totally cool. Do it to get more fans. So, you know, New Japan, got Chris Jericho to sell Western subscriptions. It happens all over the place.
And I'm like, I feel like I've never been in WWE more than right now because it's like, I can't fucking escape him. It doesn't matter what I do. I can't fucking escape. It's like, you know, like as soon as I fucking load it like the first time this week, loaded up the news, sort of channels and stuff, I've got Roman Reigns talking about like saying that's the importance, lost a step.
And I'm just like, why are you fucking, but why am I having to read this shit? Well, I don't give a fuck what Roman Reigns has to say. I don't care if he's having the best run of his life. I don't care what he's got to say because he, under their decisions is a reason why I don't watch it anymore.
You know, I've had, you know what, just as a side note, I find there was a story that, I can't remember where it was from to people maybe, but like, it was a, I think a WWE saw his type shit where, you know, like he said, he said something that was obviously very, very unsurprising and what we can all, we could all come to our conclusions and we'd all get to the same one or there's no plans for Roman Reigns to drop the belt for like that, which is obviously obvious, of course it's not. There's one person he'll drop the belt to, there's what there can be only one. The rock. And apparently the scheduling that for like LA WrestleMania, whatever that is, Paul Bryan, fucking waiting years and years after buying the ticket.
Well, Bryan, if you're listening mate, you've got to get that ticket. That show's gonna be great. The rock beats Reigns for the belt. That'll be awesome.
I don't even know if you would be in. Well, I mean, he's not doing a run, is he? So he'll have to come off him pretty quick. Well, he might do a run, who knows?
But this is the thing like, I didn't hear about sawing doing it. Can I just say I could see an anecdote to eat about that where someone said the rock is now just eating the side missions of life. I thought that's fucking great. Yeah, it's an endless Skyrim game.
Yeah, so to kind of finish my bit off, it was, I watched AW to get away from WWE. And then the other things kind of come off the back of it. I mean, New Japan's a massive part of it. I love New Japan.
I love ROH. And it feels like now when I'm watching an AW show, I'm having to be told about WWE and to tell him that you know, and you're watching, because you know, when you get into something, you want to really get into it. And they're doing shit afterwards, like sending the crowd home happy going, you know, that other company sucks. I know, like to me, I know, like who the fuck are you telling?
It's Facebook all over again. You know, if you've noticed with your own Facebook feeds, everybody seems to have your opinion on your Facebook feeds, but they all shout as if they're talking to people who don't share that same opinion. And it's like, that's what it feels like. It's like everybody, you know, you can argue back and forth the metrics, you know, all you want.
But I don't fucking care. You know, dynamite beating raw in the demo. I don't care. Dynamite AW outs ridiculously for a month out selling WWE on ticket sales.
I don't care. What I care about is how good the show is. And every time I watch the show, it's great. And I have a really great time and it's fun.
And the matches are really well put together. And the storylines are cohesive. I'll come here and sorry. Nobody's like getting a two minute match.
And like, you just scratching your head, going, what the fuck's going on here? It's a really well put together show. But like, you know, all these bollocks. So, you know, I'm sure you guys will.
Oh no, it's tonight. Smackdown's doing an extra half an hour just a fork we run page because that's what it is. Like, let's all be adults and know that that's what it is. So, Cannes obviously fucking throws toys out the pram again.
And talking about commercial free and all this. So, the point actually, WWE put actually half an hour on Smackdown, which to save him for the big hit is like Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar. And they're going commercial free during that time. You know, that's not like they were having a match.
That I would pay to say. I might switch back just to see that. Just for that. Yeah.
If you want your casual fans to WWE, that's what you need to do. So, they're doing that. And you know why they're doing it? They're doing it to the fuck with them.
And he knows that that's why they're doing it because they've done it. Ever since they started. The whole NXT move, the Hot Shop booking, the put went during Wrestle Grand Slam. Or Wrestle Grand Slam, the AW Grand Slam.
Having title matches. And you know, it just, it's all fucking childish and petty. And his reaction to it is not the reaction that I want him to have. Because I'm already in.
Like I don't need him to try and convince me that AW is the better show. I know it's the better show. By a country fucking mile at the moment. Does that mean that WWE can't bring it back and be a really good show again?
Of course not. Of course they can bring it back and you know WrestleMania might be good. Or you know, who knows? Who the fuck knows?
But I know I'm not going to watch it. And I'm into AW. It's like, you know, I keep hearing from Sony Khan this last week that they're better than WWE and it's over and over and over and over again. It's like, I know.
I know. Do you know? Because it doesn't seem like you know. Because you're fucking talking about it all the time.
That's what you know what that is literally what I was about to say. No, no, no, it just confirms it. It's like the more you, like it's like that whole lady doff protest too much shit. There's a reason why it's a.
The dweeb doss protest too much. There you go. That's a title show. But it's true.
Like the more you talk, the less confident you sound sometimes. And not in every case, but in this case, when you've got the PR machine, it's WWE. And we were talking about this earlier. In that WWE is infuriating.
They are so like PR savvy. So, yeah, they're massive company. So you can't really get an actual opinion out of any of them. When they do post shows, kind of, because they're post-showshages to themselves.
They say WWE employees. Hence why, you know, like, Hunter turned around to that guy and said don't say that when he was saying about the coach saying Vince is watching. And he's like, don't do that. That's the one who fucking worked for him.
So of course he can say that. He couldn't say that if he actually did a press conference with actual wrestling journalists. He'd just have to answer it. But he would still answer it in a very tiny way.
And the whole thing, like I said to you was earlier, it's for WWE. And he always a band would. And talking about them directly, quite clearly is banned in terms of like their big head on shows you speak. Fucking Paul, Vince if you ever speak, Nick Khan.
You know, they all have their own list of banned words. And AWS is one of them. And it's all about being non-committal to a company. Even if you ask directly about that company, their answer usually is, yeah, it's great to have competition.
There's a lot of great wrestling companies out there. You read that over and over and over again. Even if I ask directly, did you watch that show that was supposed to, like, A.W. Dynamite Show that was called the greatest pay-per-view of all time.
The answer would be the same. It would either be. It would either be. There's some really great wrestling companies out there.
Or it's, yeah, I did watch it. I really enjoyed it. I watch all the wrestling shows because of my job. And there's some great wrestling companies out there and some great, it's always great to have competition.
And that's what you say, because that's the PR line. And Khan is obviously doing the opposite. And there is a really kind of, there's a third of me, I would say. 33.3% of me that loves that Khan doesn't censor himself because it's so refreshing.
And it's exciting to hear someone actually talk because it's like, fuck, I don't, I very rarely get honesty from people. Particularly people at the top. You never get that level of honesty from them. So it's very, very, very refreshing.
And of course as well, we're in the UK, whereas our football is very like that. Whenever you get a manager who's having to talk after coming off of their fifth loss. And they're saying, you've got to get sacked. You've got to get sacked.
You've got to keep delivering this like, that's a very direct question. That is a very definitive yes or no answer. And they've got to navigate that. Knowing full well, they're going to get sacked the morning after.
They've still got to navigate it and go. And be professional about it. And that's the key. Yeah.
And Tony Khan. So obviously, like I said, it's a third of me that is very thrilled by what he says. And he's quite titillated to get someone with that level of honesty. However, the problem with it is when you've got silence through WWE and he's shouting his mouth, well, we've got more money.
And there's a trap. You're coming across like one, you come across as not confident. So you come across as a bit desperate. You come across as angry, which is the worst thing you can do.
Well, that's what I think it is. It's anger. But I think it is anger. And the thing that the whole like, oh, we don't script our promos and all like, it doesn't sound like they have a peat in either to say.
And if they have, Khan's word is the final say. And I think that although Vince's word is the final say and he'll say whatever the fuck he likes, he's been doing this for so many years. And I said to you before, you know, like, AWS starting to become associated with WWE. It's like, every time there's an AWS headline, it tends to be in relation to WWE.
And it's the same as vice versa, but it's about the way it's handled. And let me get me trained for that before jumping because I'm going to forget it. Wait there. I'm jumping.
That's just listening to this. Dead air while I try and gather my thoughts. It's just the PR stuff. So, yeah, so right.
That's what I was going to say. When you think of WCW, it's the one deny was, and it's about WWE again. So when everyone says WCW, that tends to be the thing everyone remembers. And during that, WCW is very Tony Khan about it.
It's the point where the other company, they were quite kind of openly quite spiteful about it. And it's like, yeah, we're winning this war. And obviously, WWE was the same, but they did it in a slightly more professional way. They didn't make people, you know, like turn the channel.
Do you know what I mean? It's about, that was incredibly loud. It's all about, it's how you handle yourself. And it's very, very tempting to stick up for yourself because it must be infuriating not to.
When you've got someone retaliating and trying to attack you, the worst and the most egregious thing I can think of is not standing up for yourself and just being quiet and letting it roll over me. And obviously Khan is not a person who can, even for the sake of his own company's image. He can't just roll over and act with, I know this sounds a bit harsh, but he can't act with any class. And it's weird because if he was more entrenched in full, he would understand that because he would have seen it and they went down and looking like they're going to go off.
He's gone back up for it. Yeah, they're looking good. But like, so if he was more ingrained in that side of it, which is quite, you know, publicly clear, he's more ingrained in the AW side, he would have learned a lot from British football, because it is very toe in the party line and it is very no emotions and all that jazz and all that stuff. So I just, I think he's just, he's very overcome by his own emotions.
He seems still very excitable and very honest. And like I say, that's a very admirable quality, but it's doing him a real big disservice at the moment. And the media is taking massive advantage of that too, because he knows exactly that they're going to get a headline. Yeah, because what's based on, I've got a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit on it.
No, but what's basically going to happen is, it's WWE will massacre them tonight because, of course they are, but they might get the same fans that watch, you know, Rampage, because Rampage has not been doing well, you know, it's kind of settled, I think, around the world, and which is great for that time slot. But WWE are throwing everything they've got for this night. And apparently, according to Ragsheet sources and all that kind of stuff, this is a test run. Is if they destroy them, it'll be a regular thing.
And this is the thing that I said, I think on the last show, is that there was rumors around dynamite moving to Monday night. And it's like, and I know like, Khan's trying to like coin this phrase, like, watch your wrestling or whatever it is, like watch your own wrestling. And he's been saying about, you know, the reason why he wants to be on other nights is so that everybody can watch everything if they want to. Now, this is a problem.
So if somebody walks with you, you know, for years, you're going to snap at some point. For me, the issue isn't with the fact that he's doing it. It's the fact that I don't care. Like, I don't care.
Like, I don't, for me personally, like, you know, we can talk about the, you know, the fact that it's making it look bad or from a PR standpoint, it's not great or this or that, you know, and it's great to debate those kind of things. I think there's wrestling fans, you know, that's probably one of the main points is why somebody won, or why somebody did that. Or what does this mean? I don't know.
In this particular case, do I think it's bad that he's running his mouth? No, I don't think it's bad that he's running his mouth, you know, because it's true. Like, if I hadn't washed my hands of WWE, I'd be angry too. But the reason why I've washed my hands of them is because they do shit like this.
You know, they're putting this half an hour on to fuck with them. They put an XC on to fuck with them. They put these hot shot shows on to fuck with them. They're constantly trying to fuck with them.
And anybody, right, anybody who says anything different is lying to yourself. Because that's all they've done. They release fucking stories about AW. You know, they do all sorts of shit.
Like that whole New Japan thing where they said that they were in talk to them. They weren't in talk to them because otherwise New Japan wouldn't have allowed can to do that promo. But there's a couple of points really with this. Yeah, do I think it's bad that he's running his mouth and really telling the truth about how they're trying to fuck him over in as many ways as they can?
