183. Natascha Darling is Grateful 4 Being An Employee for 15 Years Before Launching Her Business

from LashCast · host LashCast

The lash industry is unique from the rest of the beauty industry in many ways but one of the biggest differences is most lash artists work for themselves. I'd even say most never worked for a lash salon or any kind of salon before they opened their business. While I know our industry celebrates this independence as a good thing I do feel it does hurt our industry in some ways too. Most lash artists have no business training or modeling to follow when they start their business so this means they are going to make more mistakes and some of them can be quite costly. As former salon owners, we have always felt we should follow the hair salon model where you graduated from beauty school and you work at a salon where you can be mentored. Going straight out of beauty school into a salon suite can be quite disastrous and actually slow down your growth. In today's episode, Natascha Darling comes on to share why she was glad to be an employee for 15 years before she finally took the plunge and opened her own business. This is not your typical success story and we are excited to share Natascha's journey in hopes more new lash artists will consider following her path. Natascha shares some wonderful tips along the way and talks about how her business has evolved where she now travels to do lashes. Getting paid good money to fly across the country to do someone's lashes is a dream I know many of you would love to see happen in your business.
