Dr. Tay Sha Howell is the founder of Direct Wound Care and Consulting which is one of the few direct pay wound care centers in the country. She is board certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and has practiced wound care since 2006. Prior to her current practice model, Dr. Howell served as the medical director for the Oklahoma Wound Center for 12 years, as well as developing and directing the Norman Regional Diabetic Limb Salvage Program for 5 years. Amputation prevention is a special interest for Dr. Howell.  She has been involved with Save a Leg Save a Life Foundation as the Oklahoma Metro co-chapter leader as well as serving for many years on the National Board of Directors for the Foundation. Dr. Howell has been an honoree in the Journal Record's 50 Women Making a Difference in Oklahoma in 2012, 2015 and 2016, and is now included in their Circle of Excellence. She has been involved throughout her career in medical education at every level as well as community health presentations.  Dr. Howell is proudly involved with the Free Market Medical Association and the direct specialty care model of healthcare.
