188 Blessed are the Poor in Spirit - Matthew 5:3 (June 4, 2023)

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit Matthew 5:3 Main idea: Coming to God requires brokenness over our sin.To be “poor in spirit” means to be broken over sin and fully aware of our need for a Savior. Without spiritual poverty we are incapable of receiving God's grace. The spiritually poor man… is separated from himself (Psalm 131:2); is dependent upon Jesus (Philippians 4:13); is always aware of his shortcomings (2 Cor. 12:9-10); is submissive to God's correction (Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 15:10); is much in prayer (Colossians 4:12); receives salvation on God’s terms (Philippians 4:12); is eternally grateful (1 Timothy 1:12-17).The reward for spiritual poverty is a place in God’s kingdom.____________________________To Respond: http://www.fbcbellechasse.com/respond.html To Connect: https://www.fbcbellechasse.com/connect-with-us.html To Give: http://www.fbcbellechasse.com/give.html©First Baptist Church of Belle ChasseFor more information about our church, visit fbcbellechasse.com.To Respond: http://www.fbcbellechasse.com/respond To Connect: https://www.fbcbellechasse.com/connect To Give: http://www.fbcbellechasse.com/give
