188 - Cecilia Brennan 10 Things I Love About Podiatry

from Podiatry Legends Podcast · host Tyson E Franklin

Cecilia Brennan is the owner of New Step Podiatry in Canberra, the spirited national capital of Australia. After a decade in the profession, Cecilia decided to write a reflective article on her career to date. I came across her article, 10 Things I Love about Podiatry, on Linkedin and thought I needed to share this information with the rest of the profession. In this episode, we discuss: Betting on yourself. Learning which parts of podiatry you like. Having a business vision - To bring more joy to every step. Keeping yourself and your team on track with your business vision. Employing people in alignment with your business vision, mission and values. 10 Things I Love About Podiatry: The range of care. Range of clients. Strong connections with our patients. An evolving profession. Use emerging technologies. Instant results. Hands-on care. Our jobs are totally underrated. Choice of working in the private or public sector and beyond. No shift work or late nights. Final Tip: Work on your communication skills. You need to learn how to listen, when to be directive with your language and when to be collaborative. You need to avoid wishy-washy language, you need to be clear, and you need to know you are the expert in that room, and you need to communicate that with your patients. If you have any questions or want to learn more about how I can help grow your business, please call me on 0408 671 966, send me an email at [email protected]; otherwise, you can go directly to my online calendar and schedule a face-to-face Zoom meeting with me.
