188: Fear is the mind-killer

from At the Flicks · host At the Flicks

Welcome to the final Darren’s Dash of 2021. Despite all of Darren’s recommendations throughout the year, we have saved the best for last, with some cracking reviews of films you really need to see. After last month’s spectacular explosion, there is only one minor meltdown this month, surprisingly, not from the usual suspect. This particular movie is loved by all except one, who has some rather harsh and controversial things to say. To find out which film and who had the meltdown, make sure you check out the show. As for the films reviewed Pig: Nicolas Cage is after the people who kidnapped his pig. Nicolas Cage and an odd premise. You might think that is true to form, however Pig will take you in an unexpected direction. A film so good it may well turn up in some of the At The Flicks reviews films of the year. Gunpowder Milkshake: Think John Wick with a female cast. The Trip: A Norwegian comedy thriller about a couple who want to murder each other, but pick the wrong place to do it. It sounds so good most of the reviewers put it on their to watch list. Only Jeff was hesitant when he heard there were subtitles. The Toll: Although Jeff was full attention for this Welsh selection from Darren (also known as Tollbooth). Another darkly comic feature and one in which Jeff doesn’t need subtitles Riders Of Justice: Mads Mikkelsen revenge thriller. The two members of the team who have seen it were raving about it (although for different reasons) Once again Darren picks an excellent and varied selection for the Dash. As always, if you have any comments on these movies, or anything talked about on the show, please let us know. Darren’s Dash will return in February!
