Hey film buds, Welcome to a very special Film Buds’ October! All month long, we’re going to be bringing y’all the horror film content you could want, and it begins here with Episode 188. Lauren had not selected the movies for an episode, so I turned the decision making process over to her, and she chose Grindhouse (2007), a fun Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino mash-up movie, featuring two films in one: Planet Terror and Death Proof. The films and their presentations are an homage to the cheaply made, high shock-value films of the 70s. Though neither of these films are made on the shoe-string of a true grindhouse film, they meticulously recreate the experience with everything from “Missing Reels” to the so-called china dolls in the end credits. They even invited guest directors Rob Zombie, Edgr Wright, and Eli Roth to direct several trailers within the film presentation. We hope that you enjoy the episode and join us throughout the month as we bring you more horror and Halloween content. Keep it spooky, PaulPS Here’s a link to the essay on Slashers (https://www.thefilmbuds.com/reviews/archives-1) I mentioned. Episode GuideIntro - 00:00:50Planet Terror Clip - 00:04:32Planet Terror Intro and Review - 00:05:06Death Proof Clip - 00:25:15Death Proof Intro and Review - 00:25:47IATSE Strike, What We’re Watching, and Outro - 00:48:19Runtime - 01:01:05Be a Friend to the Film Buds:* thefilmbuds.com* [email protected]* patreon.com/thebuds* thefilmbuds.bandcamp.com* @filmbuds on Twitter* @thefilmbudspodcast on Instagram
