Thanks for tuning into the Super Sports Radio. We've got another Skate Companion edition. Ready to go. We've got me and Mr.
Buckbill. Ready to lay the law down on what could be a crazy video part. It's Crazy Wisdom by Andy Anderson. Could be interesting.
We've got to check it out. We've got to check it out. I think it dropped yesterday. Today we're yesterday and it's...
I might not be able to name on the tricks, but we'll give it a go. We'll have to. Yeah, we'll have to give it a go, see if we can figure them out. You can do a watch long with this.
You can 3-2-1 and press play all together, or you can just listen to us up to you. So on 3-2-1, we're going to press play. So 3-2-1 and play. So it's 12 minutes long.
We've got the Palparale skeleton just coming through, which I like. Classic graphics mate. Classic animation. I like the intro music.
Mmm. Waxing some chains mate. Going down to Venice Beach. Go bail, yep.
See in a vert ramp. You've got to love Andy Anderson, right? Oh, yeah. Love the fact that he wears a helmet as well.
Yep. Really respecting for it. They're Jake One there. Yeah, what a trick at Jake One.
Just someone who's just so in tune with their board mate. So at one with how a skateboard works. Nice stroke on that barry mate, you know? Yeah.
Still hitting classic tricks. And I've already got an advert already. So you just keep going mate. And I'll be right back.
Just a little net of spin there in front of the cops. You ever tried one? No. Never.
I'm not even interested to be fair. You can try one. So apparently the upside down one he said was called BeSatan spin. Satan spin.
Just did it. Nice, yeah. Look at that. Venice.
Crispy tray. Going down a boardwalk with a nice little jump ramp there mate. Yep. Oh, beautiful.
Oh, two piece. Two piece with the board side. Three piece. Oh, those rails are pretty decent height as well.
I've seen you in there. Nice. The kicker there. Under flip.
Yep. Contable, that's called. A weird nose man. Yep, with an ollie big spin.
Oh, love that. Love that little alright thing there mate. That was cool. Yeah, a little curved.
Curved wall right there. Oh, 50 on the lower. Just a 50 on the lower mate. Haven't seen that before.
Nice. Frontside darks like me. Just pulled it around. Fuck that.
Yeah, that's some dangerous territory right there. You could risk it all. Yeah, you are risking it all. It will switch.
Swip swap there mate. Back tail, shove out. Flip back down. Pressure flip sort of thing.
Showing off now. Yeah, just doing it a ray of freestyle flat ground right now for us. Oh, some worry. Nice area.
Late flip out. His trays are on point mate. He's got a nice tray. But yeah, the tune's a nice area tune.
Yeah. Works, works for him. No complaint, Wally. He's good on the old transition.
Such a versatile skating. He's got a nice big beefy board. Oh, that was nice. Some corner wall ride pop out.
No one's getting burped like that. Is that Tony's reference right there? Yeah, that looks like Tony's back. Oh, nice.
Float with that, Nolly. Yes. Getting a man he's on the verte mate. You've got to be a fan of that.
Oh, yeah. Nice frontside flip as well. Oh, beautiful. Yeah, walk out the gap.
Sick. They're just hitting a handrail like that mate. Yeah, backside out. Oh, back lip.
Back lip front foot impossible. Front foot impossible. Yeah. Nice job there mate.
Like that. And swinging around with that board. So earlier, camera work is on point as well. Yeah, great filming.
Frontside air on the little wall floor. Yeah. Inside outside pre-mauve, whichever one you want to be. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. It's so good. Back at Venice. It's a dark slide.
Swing out, pop, five O. Yeah. Those ledges are pretty crossed as well. I've been there that little circle.
Those are barely ledges anymore. You barely just skate flat and hit that little quarter this day. Yeah. I don't think you don't really kind of hit those ledges.
Yes, Andy. Do you know the spins for us? You can freestyle alive. And now he's walking up a big road.
Who's gone ahead. Yeah, so by Virgin me. You're on. It's quite gross.
Right back in. Yeah. Right, back in. So what's your stick on that rail there?
I don't know. Look like grip taper. Yeah, look like grip tape to me. We're at the top of a big set.
Lucky headgrass, mate. Lucky head and grass. Big, big double set with almost a 90 degree angle. Yeah.
It could well be a 90 degree mate. Yeah. It's a big, big old turn in it. Yeah, pretty much.
There's two two angles on it. 50-50 down the first. Hit in a second. He's made it.
Wow. Oh! Bailed the landing. Big impact there.
It's quite a tall rail, mate. That's a big rail. Oh, nicely done. Stuck it.
What is that on there? Is it slowing him down? Is that what he's doing? Because you couldn't do it if you went that fast.
It was obviously... Yeah, it was. Yeah, it must be some sort of tape on there, just to slow him down a bit. Well, what a 50.
Is this credit? Is this a freestyle section now, do you reckon? It's got to be a freestyle section right there. So is this the Mullen spot?
Yep, the famous little... Concrete Venice pit sort of area. Still hitting some handrails. Nice, huge lung feeble.
Wow. So good. 50-50. Rock to faking on a rail.
Rock face. Love it. Got some crime here, mate. Nice bit of cross air.
Yes. Huge combos. Yeah, board side, lip side, sort of combo gone on there. How do you do this, mate?
Pushing on a handrail. Pushing on a handrail. Several 90 degree angles. And whoever thinks about skating rails like this.
Whoever thinks about skating rails. Whoever thinks about it. This is the only way you can do it, right? Snaking around with a nice little 360 out of it.
Really like that. We get to make out of this roll. Let's roll up a jersey barre roll down. Pretty much doing like a smile.
Yeah, yeah. Now we're in some sort of art gallery with another jersey. Beautifully done. While he backside.
Yeah, this camera works really, really nice. Oh, yeah, just good camera work. No way. No way is he dark sliding this snake whale.
Oh my God. He's going to... Little cheeky credit card there. That's the angle.
That's the angle. Oh! He's figured it out now. He's figured it out now.
Oh my God. He's got to leave it at that shoulder. He's got to leave it at that shoulder. I've traced his dark side of everything and hands down.
Oh no, no. He's going to get some change just up the ante. Wally up a barrier. Board slide, chain off the end of it.
He's transferring into the other one. Back into the other one. Wow. That is...
Only skate on a planet could do that? I don't... Yeah. If not, that's...
Yeah. Well, what an ender. They've got the phone footage from the... Well, mate, we may as well go straight into it while the credits are rolling.
What are you going to give that as a turn of a rate? I don't know. It's hard for us as the era that we kind of grew up skating, but you can only really tip your hat to Andy for putting some of this shit out. I'm probably going to have to give it a high three, but it's not far off of a four.
Yes. It's got all the hallmarks of a good skate video, mate, but it's different. Yeah. I feel like the only way it might have made a better is just to take out a few of the bales, but some of the bales are what makes this video as good as it is because you get to see him make that trek and get closer and closer to it.
Yeah. Yeah. It's a different skate and just a different approach to a skate video, like you're saying with the bales, it just kind of bales a little bit more suspense. You want them to get it then, you want them to land the tricks.
This is some straight up in between some rattling mullen and some day one some sort of shit. You're not really getting anything like this anymore. No. What do you recommend?
I'll just give a few look. Yeah, I would agree with you, mate. I mean, you could consider a four because of some of the tricks in it. You know, like, I mean, how many MBDs are in there, mate?
Oh, God. And just that massive fan rail with the two kinks on it. But I don't think, you know, you're not getting a lot of good shit. He's hitting flip back tails, mate.
He's hitting a 50-50 on that little edge in New York. You know what I mean? We're seeing the the Philly boys in them lot destroy that shit. We're seeing the Supreme lads destroy that shit.
So, yeah, that caliber isn't right. Obviously, going around the corner is a nice interesting approach, but it's not a, it's not an only heel nose blunt or something. Yeah, exactly. Which obviously would be crazy, but that's a five.
Yeah. You know, D-Lo hitting what he hits. That's five. Yeah.
I suppose we spoke to a freestyle lover rather than DC, love park, all that sort of era of skating. Like we kind of like to kind of place ourselves in. They probably wouldn't get to survive. Yeah.
But it's hard, again, hard to give it a vibe with all the bales and all the story behind it. It's not strictly a, it's close to a documentary. Yeah, it's definitely, definitely laid out a little bit different than your average skate park. Yeah, definitely kind of like your documentary style or like a, just like a, yeah, I can't even describe it really.
It's definitely one of its own. If you haven't watched it, you definitely should. Yeah, yeah, definitely check out. It goes by in a flash.
So you may as well watch it and you're going to see some skateboard and you're not going to see for another fucking 20 years. You know, no one's going to be skating chains or the, that snake rail mate. Oh my god. That guy's like on that.
You'd give up in a second. Yeah. I wouldn't even touch it. We didn't even bother doing anything on it.
And it's not like it's. I'm not interested. It's a tight rail. You know, all that snake is harsh angles.
It's not a long, windy rail that's possible. This is a barely possible rail. Because you're using a different skill set to get through that thing. Yeah.
Well, when you watch it, he's going slow, but he's going fast. He's really using those corner curves to gain momentum. Yeah. Strange.
Which is something I don't, I don't use that in skateboarding. No. Like that stuff. Mine is, I want it to be as linear as possible.
You know, it's from A to B. Yep. He's still in the class and efficient. No wiggle anywhere.
Whereas he's wiggling where he can make. He's taking wiggling wherever he needs to. Just for a little bit of extra style, I suppose. Yeah, definitely.
Have you got any favorite tricks in that part mate, anyone's just sticking out of your head? I mean, the dark slide was up there for me. I did really like the chain finish. You know, I thought that was pretty good.
I'm just going to click through now. I mean, I did love it. It's something to the trays. Everything with Trey in that video was a five star trade, everything with Trey here.
He's got a nice big board. So to get a trade for a big board, you have to pop it. not going to get it and he's got some nice puppy traits. And where was that front foot impossible mate?
Where did we see that? Out of the back lip. Yeah, that's one of my favourites I think. And even the dark slide at the Venice Beach ledge, the dark slide to kind of, I wouldn't know what you'd call it, you know, shove to get yourself back round to fly by was pretty cool.
But even like the line at the career radio, Jake on Plaza, loved it. There's some tech going in those tricks mate, there's no slaps there. You know, hitting front side layers and stuff on those banks. That's crazy.
Yeah. And I really liked that. What'd you say yours? I really liked the back lip front foot possible out, but I also really liked the, that has been to nose grind sort of thing.
Yeah, I actually think that could be, I mean they're all hard to rex, but I think that one is, this is closer to what we like to watch. Yeah. And when you see someone, you know, I've never nose grinded down a handrail mate, but I know the, you know, I've done it down kind of benches, you'd set up a down spot or something, you know, let you exactly. I'm not great at nose grinds anyway, but you can get thrown over them.
Oh, yeah. You know, because you've got, you've got to give it all or nothing. And to do that from a, from a stop, from a stop and then start again, that's got to be harder because it, oh God, speed helps balance. Yeah.
Speed can carry you across it instead of just bailing straight on top of it. Yeah, definitely a scary one now. Yeah. But awesome part mate.
Definitely, for anyone, any type of skater, any stylist, if you can't appreciate what Andy Anderson's putting out here, maybe you should be running the ball because he's doing this all the right reasons, you know, he's really enjoying being on a skateboard. Yeah. No, you can see. He's probably on a skateboard so much longer than everyone else's.
No, he's just, he's just on a board every day of his life. Yeah, just skating away. And you can tell he's just like, yeah, walk mate as well. Oh, yeah, that gets a proper kick out of that.
Yeah. Looks like an air walk. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Now I got this for 44. He's got the back lip front and hospital out. So good. Yeah, it's clean as well.
So clean that wrap around just generates out nothing. No more questions actually. I was going to say, what do you think about the tape on the handrail or whatever it is? I'm not into it.
I'm not into modifying spots too much, but I'm guessing that's probably the only way you can do it. Maybe. I respect. Yeah, I respect them for doing it too.
To get it done. But I don't know. I think you got a streets game is you do it. What's there?
Yeah, you know, Barry gets all the shit for creating the spots. But yeah, I personally think you leave the shit alone. You might need to put some bondo down or something mate, but I'll file some shit down. But I think actually putting something on the right.
I'll get you. Yeah, you have to do it slow down. Yeah. I was never seeing anything like that before.
The essence of skateboarding in this video is what it's all about, right? Yeah. I'll just follow it. Space enjoyment.
Really well put together. I've got a couple of little credits here. We've got, obviously, executive producers. They would shove their name on it.
George Powell and Stacy Prowler. Of course. Filmer, Nigel Alexander, editor Benny Zenga. Yep.
Music, Tripmaster, Monk. And all the links are below the video on YouTube. So definitely go and check it out. Yeah, no, definitely give this one a watch.
Well, thank you Andy for blessing us with some never seen tricks. And hopefully we'll see some more soon. But you've been listening to Tim's Watch Radio. Take a lovely day wherever you are.
Happy day wherever you are.
