from AI Asia Pacific Institute Podcast · host AI Asia Pacific Institute

"If ethics frames and guides our collective decision-making, we can ensure we reap the benefits of technology without falling foul of avoidable, manageable shortcomings." — Ethical by Design: Principles for Good Technology Dr Matt Beard is a moral philosopher with an academic background in applied and military ethics. How do we avoid the risks inherent in a belief in unlimited progress for progress' own sake? What are the moral costs of restraint - and who will bear the costs of slower development?  This conversation covers the recent paper published by The Ethics Centre which addresses the above questions by proposing a universal ethical framework for technology: Ethical by Design: Principles for Good Technology *** For show notes and past guests, please visit https://aiasiapacific.org/index.php/podcasts/.
