19. I Lost Weight By Exercising Less, Eating More, & Supporting My Nervous System
from Trust Your Gut · host Demi Fair
Talking about weight loss is not something I do, nor it is anything I work with clients on, or promote. Weight has nothing to do with gut health, mental health, or the kind of health and healing I promote. This title is meant to be a little controversial to grab your attention and offer a different idea behind weight loss and diet culture. We have been told forever that we need to exercise more and eat less to lose weight, and we are bombarded with images and messages about what the ideal body type is. It's all bullshit, and it feeds into so many people developing disordered eating, orthorexia, and body images issues, which I have personally struggled with, and have found to be a very common thing among my clients. Many people with gut issues have become afraid of foods, macronutrients, and can easily develop an obsession with eating clean. If this is triggering to you to read, I am sorry, and invite you to listen to the episode to understand the message here. *** GIVEAWAY!
