TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Well fuck me, we're back. It's been a while isn't it? It's been time, you know, we're not going to say exactly how long. Because if you've just tuned in, you know what I mean?

It hasn't been time, we've been... No, it hasn't been time. You've just gone to it. Next episode.

Next episode. So, you know, come on, I think it's a pan se, so anyway, so what we're talking about today then me? Today we're talking about Jim Greco, Jobs, Never. Play the fucking bean chew.

Job never, what's that about? Tell me. Well, it's clearly where he just skates all day and just doesn't actually have a real job. I mean, we'll get into it.

You know, we've got the video going, the same time I was, you know, spam the shit. But I'm just going to put it out there. I've only seen half of this video. Right, okay.

So I'm just, I'm just, anyone know, you've seen a whole thing. I watch the day I'm going to learn to do it. You've seen it all. Fine.

So putting it out there, at a certain point, I'm going to be like, yeah, interesting. It's all new to you. Yeah. So it's a super where presentation made.

Yeah, but it's not the first film by Jim Greco, is it? He did one a couple of years ago, which I think was less skate-heavy. Yeah. It was just, there was only a couple of clips.

Correct. And I think he learned from his mistakes on that one. I mean, so, you know, you start off with shredding, skating down the street. It looks awesome.

It looks like it's with a film camera. I don't think it is. I don't think it is. But they've done well.

They've done well. Yeah. And then he's reversing back into this little driveway, which is awesome. You know, with a door open, on a big old car, it was like, it's got to be a Cadillac.

And then we hit the slow-mo button. And then he's up in the air, backlit on his car, catches. Oh, and then almost breaks his spine. So if you haven't seen this, if you haven't seen this video, I mean, you should be, go and watch it.

I mean, it says you guys only seen half of it. But go and watch it, because the slam on, he's just taken air. On his back, he's probably one of the worst I ever seen. Oh, yeah.

And it's worth the 20 minute video just for that first slam. Right at the start. He sits up. So he's just slammed on the back, sits up.

And he's like, I can take any folds again. See, when I first saw this and he sits up, I was like, yeah, not hard. No, there's no way you're just struggling to slam like that. It cuts to possible.

Well, that's what you would want, isn't it? Not popping in the barrel for 20 minutes. So now he's, you know, he's driving around. Well, you know, is it a POV shot?

Let's say it is a POV shot and he's just in his car driving around. But again, it looks awesome. It does look awesome. You know, it's a proper visual experience.

It's not just you can't see this is a typical statement. No, it's because it's not. It is a passion project of Greco's. But something I like is it's clearly all a we all know that.

But it's the all a that you don't see. It's not even downtown. Like who knows? Well, this is this is some shithole part of it.

If you know where it is, you know, right in, let us know. Go on to the website, comment section. Yeah. Leave us a little message and tell us exactly where or so.

I suppose, but we'll call it Janssen, Johnson, Rockwell. So if you know that, I mean, we could Google that now, but I'm not going to. No, so right in let's know. Anyway, Greco's just walked through the door.

Yeah, quite like nonchalantly and just walks out. Yeah. I mean, all right, you're like 45. And you go up to the emergency room and the person asks you, what's your issue?

What's happened? Yeah, I've filed over a skateboarding. So did he say to him? Did he say to him?

He said it is for for you. So as he's just getting looked at with his big bold and the back on his back. Did he go up to him and say? So, yeah, I just like reverse my car into a road gap.

Right. What's a road gap, sir? You know, just it's a drop curb and yeah, tried backlipped it. What's a backlipster?

Well, you know, but then caught it like a truck on it and then went, what's a truck, sir? Could the truck hit you, sir? He said that. I needed that conversation in this film.

Yeah. And that's what this film is missing. But anyway, what we have to do now? Well, we can't see.

Well, Penny himself. I know it's the Penny Farden right there. Yeah. So this is the kind of dream sequence.

They dream sequence. You don't know that until you go back to Jim. He's remembering like the good days when he could skate. Exactly.

That's what you see. You know, and we know, we're not going to kind of talk to him. We know that Tom speaks highly of Jim. He calls him his friend.

You know, he doesn't say just Jim Greco. He says, my friend Jim Greco. Every time he speaks to Penny, he'll say, my friend Jim Greco. Yeah.

But it'll be to the point where it's not Jim Greco. It's just Jim. Yeah. And that's his mate.

Yeah. And I'm sure that Greco feels exactly the same way. That fell on that little Kirby curb, right? But his hands down afterwards, mate.

Yeah. And I really like the flip. Because he just does a flip with where his feet landed. He doesn't really move him.

And you know, he just doesn't need to do a big boy flip. He's always done a big boy flip before he's seen one. Yeah. He'll see two actually.

When he wants to do a big boy flip, Penny can do a big boy flip. And this is really cool. So they're just tricking into this little like weird stair set. Like a ramp stair set.

But it's just so big. I'd love to share that. Oh, yeah. When I was watching this earlier, I could spend a day there.

Oh, yeah. You just fake yolly into it. Like 180 into it. Like you just had fun with it, wouldn't you?

This is cool. So there's a really ghetto looking train track. And Greco just always it. And it's huge.

Oh, it's massive. It's massive. Back in the day, that would have got more prime time, if you will. Yeah.

I mean, I just the thing I see here, which just really pleases me, is just seeing someone like Penny just really happy. And you can kind of just see just like a, it's just cool for them to be with his mate, just doing their thing. They're not trying major major shit. They're just doing their signature maneuvers that they've got down.

Yeah. Like that back three. Like those front of flips, those back of flips. It's just awesome to see them just at one.

They're just at peace with the boy. And it's just like, this is a kind of day off for them. They're not trying anything crazy. It's just two mates hanging out skating.

I mean, that happens to be a trail flip on that flop between that bench. It's just so, it's awesome to see. And I'm going to fucking call out the motherfuckers on skate line, whatever his name is. He was like saying, oh, Penny needs to fucking sleep.

Penny needs to, have you seen that skate line? What, a reasonable one? Yeah. No.

What's the matter? Gary fucking Rogers, whatever. Yeah. Yeah.

Calling you out, Gary. Penny needs to fucking sleep. It's like, Penny does whatever the fuck he wants. He's bigger than you.

You don't exist without people like fucking Penny. So whatever. You don't know fucking shit. I'm going to leave it at that.

But piss me off. Piss me off. Rightly so. Yeah.

Anyway, we're out of the dream sequence now. And he's clearly just realizing how expensive the hospital will be. He's got a super money mate. Yeah.

But does he use the super money? I don't know where he does. Because we'll find out in a minute here. After this little bit here, I've still seen this bit, by the way.

He goes in his car, gets in there, almost seriously, gets in there. Turns up at his place. So it's at night time now. But when he goes home.

Yeah, it's a data. What's that all about? See, I don't think that's... I imagine his house is sparsely decorated.

Like it is portrayed in this. But I don't think that's his legit apartment. Drecking owns that place. I'm sure he does.

It's with the super money. With the super own that place. Now, this is his own money. Yeah, of course.

I bet it don't cost a lot. No, it was a bit less. I will say this, right? So there's a shot as he walks into his apartment.

Just like the building. Yeah. There's a fucking chair, like outside. Yeah, what's the chair doing?

That chair has been placed there. That's just to make the shot. Try to look more... How is it?

Like a bit more edgy? I mean, again, Jim, if you want to listen to him, tell us the reason or whoever filmed this, which we're going to give credit to at the end. But like, please give us... Tell us that chair was actually there.

Here we go. So, Jim walking through the Nero style. You know what I mean? He's being the Nero at this point.

Is it the Nero section of the video part? Definitely. Well, it's great. You know, Red Brick building, some turquoise graffiti in the background.

It's good shit. Good shit. So he's skating around here, this dilapidated sort of building block. And do we say it?

Yeah, this is it. It's in it. It's in it. It's in it.

It's in it. At 9.35, you see the chair. It's quite a chair as well. It's a uniquely designed chair.

It looks like it's been spray painted. But it's just out there. And then he comes in. He doesn't even look at the door, mate.

You know what I mean? Would you lock the door in that face? That's fucking... You know what I mean?

That TV is really in it. The CRT. Oh, that's great. But, you know, this is just the part of the video that you kind of have to think about.

It's like, take it in, take it, take it up into your cell. You know, it's just like... He's doing it to make it more of a movie. Yeah.

To build a bit more character. And it... But is this the character? That's all I'm saying.

I've never met Jim Greco, so I'm a fucking clue. No. I've got a clue. So this...

He could be like this. He could be like this, you know. I would love to know the creative direction behind this. That actually speak to Jim about this whole video.

Are they watching Dear Hunter or something on the TV? I think there's something like that. But it's like, there is very... You know, you can see there is a homage to that sort of film.

And then obviously people like, you know, actors liked it anyway. But can I just say about that knife and fork holding hand work? Like, that's not how you use a knife and fork. I didn't pay attention to that.

They have it in my hands. No, he had it in the correct hand. Right. Fork and left.

But it's so club-handed. Was it? Yeah. Yeah, I didn't pay attention.

I was just looking at the food mate. Of course. He's kind of like hard chicken, wasn't he? Yeah, it was kind of like a fish pie.

Yeah, quite a fun place thing. So here we go then. So he's unboxing his package. Yeah, he's super shoes.

Clearly the new signature. Yeah. What do you say? They're quite nice.

I like them a lot. Fuck me, he's struggling getting on. They clearly look like a tight bit. Yeah.

But I think they're a really nice balance between the nice posh smart shoe and a very functional sketchy. Yeah. Because they do look very dillonesque. Yes.

They do look very with the triangle. Yeah. Dramecut. Here we go.

What we got here then. Tricks flop in it. Oh. Yeah, very dillonesque.

But unique enough to not just be a straight copy of the dillonesque. I've got, yeah, yeah. And do we need two angles of this war ride? No.

That second angle didn't work for me at all. No, it's wheels are fucking huge. He's got like 55s, any. No, mate.

No big enough. 55. I want to see one. No, it's a 55.

It's a 1 down 58. That's three mil off. That's a 58. It's been one.

Three mil down 58. That is telling you. Okay. Maybe.

Yeah. We'll ask him. Yeah. Last year.

Look at that. That's good. I think in around here, I think it's where I stopped watching him. Because I just need to be over in the shop.

I watch this. I was late. And I was like, I can't be too much later than this. And he just kind of sits down and you know, he's going down a sketchy RC.

I like this. This is nice. He's just rolling any of his blazer on. He's just having fun.

Yeah. He should hit stone though. This boy. There's, I reckon he swept that entire fucking hill without a doubt.

You don't want to build that. This guy went down like a sucker shit on, uh, what was it? Sunday. No, no.

Saturday I think I looked skate. Hissed around. Just just healed on my open hand. So I've had a little wound in my hand.

Just healed. Perfectly healed. Drop from a fucking curve. Literally the one like outside the view fossil.

Yeah. Next to the station spot. I can land it on a fucking rise. And there's legs scorpion behind me.

You know what I mean? Someone like coming out of the, uh, someone coming out of the hospital. The old boy in the cabab and there. Look at me as well.

Like, and someone just crossing the road there as well. So like, it's a busy, it's a busy area. It's a busy area mate. And like, you all watch over, like, like, running the ground, dropping off a curve.

That's what they're seeing. Yeah. That's a long period as well. Because I thought, if I just drop them, I can just eat shit.

And I found this straight mark behind me. You know what I mean? It's only a short one, but it's a big, I should have seen a rock through there. A whole man's up.

Should have seen a rock. So now I've got another whole man. Nice. Yeah.

Good work. Yeah. Anyway, back to Gekko. But again, this is the, the LA that you don't see.

There's like a street market all over the place. It's people just selling. It's almost like a car boot. Yeah.

Free market. . Free market. I mean, how long is this?

I mean, I like this line with the three up three downs. Yeah, that's nice. No, I think there's a good one as well. No.

Nice. A little back 180. Goop the back 180. Nice.

And then cut to a fat bloke with a megaphone in the fat Rihanna. That was good. I like that. So we're new for you now, are we?

Yeah, I've seen this. OK. It's because I think Greco's going is about to show up. Blazers and all.

Skaters. Yeah. Are they skating? They are skating.

I questioned it at first. OK. Because the look of them was like, nah. What do you have?

I turned that on the side. I turned that on the shot one day. Because I got blue trousers, right? So that's not out of my repertoire.

OK. If I came in with a shirt like that, ripped my butt. And then a leather fucking blazer, what do you say? Oh, sorry.

But I'm kicking you out of the fucking shop. Like, what are you doing? You cannot. And I can't just dunk it like, can't I?

No. If you do a gradual kind of thing where, before you know it, you're wearing a Hawaiian shirt. OK. OK.

Then fine. Yeah. But if you just hard cut to leather tall white shirt and blue shoot trousers trousers and wear Greco's as well. Blue Greco's.

The Greco's are fine. Well, that's not what I'm questioning. No, no, no. It's the rest of it.

That board is fucked. Yeah. I replaced my boards more than he does. That's the good one.

What is that anyway? It does not look like a death rush. Yeah. It looks almost polar-esque.

It's funny. There was an ever-skater. I saw him skate the board. I was like, don't I fucking ride for them?

I just didn't actually hear a board. Reynolds. Was it? Was that what it was?

I saw Reynolds. That's what it was. That's what it was then. Yeah, it was.

I mean, that's what he fucking looks like. Oh, he owns Baker. I'm going to go for it. You should go pro.

For both. Here we go. Here we go. Hold on a second.

OK. This is all right in a moment. I'm not going to completely, because, you know, cinematically, this is pretty cool. Yeah.

But at this point, I was questioning the skating abilities. So, yeah, they can push. And then the brick banks. Right.

You know these brick banks? After this, I changed my opinion of these guys. Right. Oh, yeah.

Blunt. Ooh. Oh, no, I'm on a third board. You know, I sat in a attic.

Well, you know, it's got to be like an eight-night. No. So, on a quick little- Wow. Quarter pie, pea, blunt flip, fakie.

It's- Oh, so now we're going like, this is actually- We're in a skate view now. We're in a skate. They are not 55 mil wheels. I'm telling you right now.

They're 58, one down by a mil. Look at that. Look at that. There's trucks.

I know it's trucks are high. What? Who sponsors him? Trucks, one.

So, what are they? Indy? No. No, they've got to be indie.

I wouldn't be surprised if indie. Because he's over an era, isn't he? There's not going to be a crux or anything. This is nice.

Like a- Oh, actually flip. Like kind of the wrong way on a Ripley-Dooter. Nice. Very nice.

Yeah. Very nice. This whole point with the- I mean, we should have done our research really. The whole point with the blonde heir.

What they haven't told you was named. Yeah, no, but we should have done our research. You know what I mean? But- You know what?

He's a skater. He skates exactly like Greco as well. Yeah, which- It's a bit- Yeah, I mean, that's a bit dryer. He's searched long and far for- I think there's batteries if I'm hanging out of Greco.

You know what I mean? That is- So I can't be back for you. You're an outside patties pub. Oh!

Yes! What was time snaps there? That's a 1920. Around 1920, he's outside patties pub doing a 360- No, one foot or whatever.

You see that? That's a drop, fuck it. I didn't care for the war ride. But I like the- You're back on that.

You want to click right out of the wall. That's acceptable. We've gone back to patties pub. But now we've got like a- Yeah, we've got like a- Ever- Actually, crazy war ride.

Two massive acid drop. Motherfucker. It's like a 10 foot drop. Yeah.

It's got me. I mean, that'll always- You know, he's grazing the six. Yeah, he's grazing the six. He's grazing the six.

Like that. Ollie onto the car. Ollie onto the other car. He's getting that little cheeky voice on.

No one really. I'd have told him to re-shoot that shit. And he's 58-0 wheels. That looks more than that, mate.

They're falling down a little bit. Well, of course. Because he clearly doesn't change his board. He's not going to change his wheel.

Does he? Or is it that just, you know, that is so- Ah! With the train. That shot is so- That's so- That's so- That's so- Oh.

It's nice, isn't it? It's beautiful, but that train shot. Oh, gim. Gim.

Now he's getting an eagle in his ankle. So he went out to the car again. What's he doing on the car again? Do you reckon this was shot?

Here we go. This was shot earlier in that day. Oh, of course. There was shot earlier in the day.

Nice little plant of some description again. Because I believe this is a bonus. But it's about- I think it's a fast plant. Right.

Right in. Right in. We need- We need it. Twenty- Twenty-ish.

Twenty- Parns of some description. Tell us what that plant is. Again, we got a degree in skateboard. Right.

But the plant, so we missed that class. Yeah, we missed that class. That was just like plant. Fuck that.

Nah. Nah. Just gonna drink that night. Because look at that crossing.

I'm just looking at Lucie's truck. For him to be out of like, woop around like that, they got to be pretty loose. And now there's a truck coming. Yeah.

And he waves them down. So I'm coming mate. Like, you get over to one side. I'm coming.

Is that one way street thing? Yeah. And he's going down one way street. It's onto like a highway or something.

Yeah. And then that crazy intersection. It's a four way- It's a crossroads. And then to finish it with a hillbom.

Yeah. How was you going to say? I think- Is that- Directed by Jim? Oh.

It's not a- Joey Cinco. So Joey Cinco's done a bit. He's clearly the second- Yeah. Second director behind him.

Yeah, exactly. He's the same as him. So I'm talking about- So I can look at- Look at- Look at- Look at- Look at- Hankinson, whatever his name is. He's a blonde dog boy.

Bobby Miranda. Must be the other one. It's got to be. Fuck knows.

Sorry. Sound boy, Joe Cinco. He did the sound. Oh.

Sound post-production. Joe Cinco. Joe Cinco is good, shouldn't he? There was still photography in that?

Probably. I missed that. I missed that at all. Yeah.

Yeah. Oh. Is that- That's just done. Well, I mean, turbo ratings.

Let's go straight to turbo ratings. For an online video. I mean, what- What- What- what- what- What classification is coming though? Because we normally thrash your beard.

Someone's part. I mean, it's 22 minutes long. So let's- You know, it's not just a- It's not just a part on thrash. It's not just an online- No, it's not a form- No, it's not a form- And again, we shouldn't say part.

Respect the Tony. End part of fuckle. So it's- it's a video, whatever. I'm going to give that- Oh, right.

If we're doing the standards and the turbo, I'm going to give a three. I'll just standard rating of- Just a video that I like to watch, which is- At five, it's pretty good people. Alright, listen, that's not fucking- That's spamming us with hate- Straight away. And then if I'm going to put a point on there, I'm going to turbo the official turbo rating.

I'm going to give it a 3.7. Okay. Alright, because I want to be high- Yeah. Just for me and a four, because- Don't- don't go wrong mate.

I want university to do this sort of stuff. Yeah. Absolutely. I appreciate it.

I'm going to do everything like that. But- It's- you know, with skate films, I always go back to how many times you can watch them. You know, they- to inspire you to get going. That is inspiring as fuck.

There's some raw skateboard in there. But I'm going to- Can I give it a three? I mean, I mean, I mean that realm. I mean, I mean, I need to- I've only seen it once.

So maybe I need to watch it again. This is the second time you've watched it. So you've followed the way- Yeah, I'm going to give it for both. Yeah.

Turbo and the expanded- It's a four. Yeah, because I think the issue is, it kind of transcends just the skate video. It's not just the skate video. And the skating in it, it's like, yeah, it gets me kind of excited to go skate.

Yeah, yeah. I just want to cruise down the street. Do whatever. Yeah, magenta style.

Exactly. But also just the- The cinematography- NIST to it. It doesn't quite work as a single part. If it was location based.

It gives me excited for an Oxford video. Mm-hmm. I'll just film an Oxford and do in- Just doing something to do with Oxford. It gives me excited to work on a project like that.

Which could or could not be in the works at the moment. Exactly. It gives me excited for that. So I think personally, that's why I give it a four.

Nice, I like that. Because it- I mean, the thing is I need to watch it again. I mean, I need to watch it again. Sit down with a cup of tea or a ginnetonic.

One of the ginneton moments- Dry October, whatever you call it. It's got stoptober. It's got stoptober. It's got stoptober.

Yeah, it's what international- Listeners, we do in England. There's a stoptober fucking gimmick now. Yeah. How long has it been another three years?

It's been five years. It's for people to make out that you really care about like cancer and shit. So they're going to stop drinking. And it's like, it's- For me, I'm just getting to this little bit.

It's bullshit. You know what I mean? Whatever. Stop whenever.

If you want to be healthy, don't drink. Exactly. And don't- You know- It doesn't matter what time of year it is. Yeah.

Whereas I'm just stopping beer. Yeah, we stop and waste beer for October. Yeah. Because I like drinking too much.

Well, I'm just- Well, I'm just- Well, I mean, it's not an issue. It's not an issue. It's not an issue. All right.

Just keep telling ourselves. It's not an issue. You know, we've got small glasses as well. These are- What we're drinking out of right now, they're not pint glasses, which we normally drink out of.

They're not even half-pines. No, no, no. I've got a nice cat on mine. Join has got a couple of flowers on there.

It's classy shit over here. Yeah, it's over. It's over. It's over.
