August 30th Dear Parents, We’re going to have a great upcoming week. Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements: Thank you for a very enjoyable round of conferences. I genuinely enjoyed meeting with all of you. A special thanks to those of you who hosted me at your house. There is no school on Monday due to the Labor Day Holiday. Student Council Information Meeting Wed Sep 4- Lunchtime in Mrs. Gray’s room Science Fair Information Night Thursday September 12th 5:30-6:15pm in the MPR. Navigating Woodbury: Parent Portal, Canvas, and more- Tue Sep 10 2:35-3:35pm  RSVP Here Reader’s Workshop We will start a new unit on Setting Up a Powerful Reading Life. This will take us up to Fall Break (and just after Fall Break) and will help reinforce many of the skills we’ve been working on so students are taking charge of their reading lives. Writer’s Workshop We will continue writing information books that teach. They’ll write their third information book. Math We will continue our unit on Ratios by creating double number lines. We will begin looking at unit price (the cost for one thing based on knowing the price for many). History We will begin studying our first civilization: Mesopotamia! Science The kids will begin working to get ready for their science fair projects. Thank you, Mr. Gray

Reader’s Workshop
