You are now listening to the UK and the world's favourite wrestling podcast. R.T.M wrestling with your host Andy and Emma. Who's starting? It's nice.
Hello. How are you? That was a bit quick. That was right.
What's it? Fragonally? It's a Friday night show. Got it.
Gossful. I don't know if anyone can hear the bubbles. Oh, thanks. That was Vain to Glass.
Mmm. Cheers, everyone, to the weekend. Cheers, to the weekend, yeah, because we've got quite a lot. Probably on the way down there, we've got work wise.
As per. So, what were you on Friday? Last week we said Saturday was becoming a really key day to do the show. Turns out Friday might be better.
Yeah. We decided, though, that if we're, instead of leaving work, we're then thinking, oh, shit, it should have been working. It should work tonight. It should work tonight.
You know what? Let's just not do anything on Friday. So, you don't do anything on Friday. You don't give yourself any shit for it.
And we'll just do the podcast and chill out and maybe watch a movie. Absolutely. I would love to watch a movie. So many.
I don't know. The whiz while you're on. So watch. Although I did watch one without you, didn't I?
You're not very happy about that. Right. Right. OK.
Fucking... Don't even get me started on this. This is a serious problem that we need for a serious conversation about. Disney's released a new film.
Yeah. I don't know how to fix that one. You're turning red. You've already seen it.
Yeah, right. OK. I'm going to explain something about why I watched it. And I've got no excuse over that.
I've watched married at first night Australia. Very good show. Fucking minch show. They know what they...
Obviously they don't have to get that shit done. They know how to do reality TV over there. It's so badly edited because they splice everybody's sentences together. Yeah.
To make them say what they want to say. Fucking comic calls are the goal. It's like... It's like...
It's like three buckets. Man will be like, and I just love her because... She's great. And he's in completely different place.
The soundscapes are totally different. And he spliced up things. It's so fucking bad. It's fantastic.
And whenever they do like a coming up this week, it's like a nude photo rocks the group. LAUGHTER It's fucking brilliant. I love that shit. So you're so good at impression.
Australian reality TV. If anyone's out there who literally is a bit like, you know what? I just want a down-and-dirty TV show to watch. Watch anything Australian.
Apparently, the Melbourne Real Housewives was so fucking nasty. The other second off there. Nasty is in. As in, sexually or...?
No, no, just cruel to each other. Oh my god. Rosie Ramsey, who I follow on Instagram, did a little clip of her putting a makeup on, and she had Melbourne or Sydney Housewives on in the background. He just heard this woman go, what are you talking about?
You're big fat bitch! I know it sounds fucking sensation. Why is he taking off the air? Well, somebody told me...
I'm talking about you big fat bitch. It's really, really bad. Do you know what? The Australians can fucking...
They are. It's still real to them. Can we just take a second? Just as an aside, what?
Are you trying to just go off? No, no, I'll come back to this. I know it's really interesting and nothing to do abreastly, however. Well, this is the intro.
Did you know that was by now? Did you hear about the fact that the council neighbours... I did. Okay, do you know why they...
Right, okay. I don't know why they cancelled it or why I saw that they cancelled it, because when am I ever going to fucking see that? Exactly, so it's on Channel 5. And Channel...
Was it always on Channel 5? No, it was on BBC. Was it on BBC? It was on twice a day in Hay Day on BBC.
Because apparently some minister was... Some minister for entertainment was off with their child who was sick from school. And this kid was like, there's this show called Neighbours that's absolutely brilliant, and I love it, and all my friends at school love it. This whoever might be getting it wrong with minister...
Right. ...propelled it up the thing, on twice a day and made it a thing. Anyway, going back to the front... Well, yeah, exactly.
What you want? Oh, you're like, Daddy, Daddy. I really like neighbours. Can you push it on prime time, please?
Look at these poor people running around. So they lost the deal with... So Channel 5, right, has cancelled neighbours. No one's watching it, they're like, it's time.
Right. Also, an end cancel it. Shortly after that, neighbours put a thing out saying, see you guys, it's over. Apparently they don't even fucking show it in Australia.
They only make it for the UK. What? Because the UK is like a big... The Australians can't give a fuck about neighbours, right?
They don't give a shit, they don't watch it. What about home and away? That's still going. That's still going.
They don't mind that. Apparently, because they lost their Channel 5 deal in the UK, they can't make neighbours anymore. Which I've... We blew my fucking mind.
I'd be like a coronation street going, sorry guys. We've lost our deal in Japan, so... Sayonara! We know coronation street, sorry.
We know coronation street, like, you know, people... Still watch that. We heard, but people like Christmas saying, people love it. Countries love it.
Oh yeah, yeah. I'm like... Are you sure we in America? We should be stenders in America and all that for that.
But like, you know, like, it's like ducking into like German, you know, it's like, sort of this act of satinabooth somewhere. I know, yeah. Trying to react to this crap that's going on to a tram crash here, and they're like, wait. I'm near.
I was like, oh my God, that's so funny. Thank you, Joey Sails. But yeah, so the reason I watch it turning red is because... It's not a good...
It's not a good thing of excuse. I was watching Marid at first sight, everyone's fucking shouting at each other, there's fucking nude folks flying around, it's all drama. Right. Then I put an episode of the Dropout on, which I'm Disney Plus.
I don't know what that is. Which is great, it's pop hustlers and two about this woman who has a lot of people. Then I put Pam and Tommy on, right, and I got halfway through, Pam and Tommy, and I was like, I just want to watch something nice. I'm sick of watching nasty people.
You were on Disney Plus. I was on Disney Plus. And I saw that. And I kind of, having heard about what the film's about, I thought, I don't think this is Andy's bag.
If it's got that Disney logo, it's my bag. I know. So I watched it, it was good. I do recommend it, I'd watch it again.
Okay. Well, we won't watch that tonight, we'll watch something else. Like something, because we've got a French dispatch we want to watch. Yeah.
What was that? Night Merali. That's an important one. Yes.
Unless you want me to walk it up top in and we watch by a lot of it. No, we'll watch that at the cinema. We will go. It's still clinging on.
Still clinging on. Well, the DVD's out next week. That's how come we thought that's a great showman that happened with. It's a sign of quality that is.
Great showman. It was amazing. We gotta have a miracle inside. Yeah.
Swipe. I feel weird. Because if anybody remembers the time when we went to watch NXT, well, it wasn't NXT UK, then it was just as the in-out was NXT UK. Oh, how exciting.
That was for five minutes. Or Royal Ab-A-Hole. About two night affair. Most of my in-out in one of the tag team titles, it was incredible.
If anyone can remember the pictures from that, imagine that with another six months worth of growth. And that's what you had for me. You hadn't had a haircut. I've shaved your hair a couple of times.
Yeah, you were in lockdown. You shaved me. I did. I did.
But you haven't actually had a haircut for like three years? Yeah. Well, that's not necessarily news though. Because I, for anyone who doesn't know, I've got, or think I've got, Saraiya's on their head.
If anyone knows what that is, it's like a skin sort of condition. It looks a bit flaky or like a sort of. So I hate going to the barbers because every time I feel like I've got to explain myself, it's like no, it's not, you know, one tag, when I was, you know, not younger, but when I was like, sort of in the twenties. I had to explain to the woman who was cutting the hair that wasn't catchable.
So, you know, hopefully we've come quite a long way since then. But every time I feel like I've got to explain myself. And obviously every time it's absolutely fine, they don't give a shit, but it's, it looks bad. Like to me, it looks awful.
But you know, the haircut's pretty good. It's lovely haircut. So yeah, so it's completely different. So is it weird looking at me now?
No, it isn't actually. I've had more dramatic haircuts before where I couldn't look you in the eye for a good day. What would it name one? Was it like when you shaved my head?
No, no, not even that. This is like my normal style. Bit of a fringe to cover up this crap. And then maybe it's a, you know what, it is an interesting, not interesting wrestling, not a non wrestling story for you guys before we start the show.
I've never had my beard trimmed at a facility. I've never, I've always done it myself. So I've always literally just like got a trim or whatever. Just took it in, made it look a bit of a idea away we go.
It was the first time I had a person trimming my beard. That was some weird shit. Yeah. That was far too intimate.
You know, it was a, it was a, it was a 20 year old lad, you know, he's like eyeballing me. We talked about this before. It just, it felt a bit too intimate. Sometimes if like back in the day when I've had like a fringe and they've been like cutting my fringe right in my face, that's bangs if you're American.
I can hear and breathe out of their nose. I can hear the air coming out of their nose. And I was saying to you, like in those moments, my brain always goes to what's the worst thing I could do right now. The worst thing I could do, well usually I go down the route of just imagine if I just kissed her on the cheek gently.
Like she was like, or I just pooped her on the nose. It's like what would get me kicked out and you just can't help it. But I thought that sometimes when I've been sat in an office and someone, you know, like, I remember like my boss, this woman when I worked at, um, Lima, fuck it, I'll say it. I'm fucking massive, I'll be, when I worked at Lima, I remember my boss coming over and showing me someone on the computer and I was like, you know, I just kissed her on the cheek now.
This place where he roped. I'd be kicked out of your scoty dog. But you can't help it because it's such an awkward situation that you just think about like, it's a fucking jackass shit. I can't help it.
I just think about what is the worst thing I could do right now, this person is this close to them. I'm glad we both have that. I think our brains instantly go, so what's the worst thing I could do wrong? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because at one point, because he was walking around me like it was a fucking stupid table. You know, he was taking it off one side, running around. It was like fucking, um, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You've got 60 seconds to lag it around.
That's over for me. So he's going from one side to the other, from one side to the other. And then, you know, it was, when he was doing my hair, he was like spinning the chair, which which, and this was great. Everything about it was great.
But when he was, when he was going to the hair, he was moving the chair around. Yeah. So like he stayed in the same place and just kind of moved me around, which was, you know, fine, because I can't see shit anyway, because we're glasses. So like he's like, oh, what do you think about that?
I was like, I'm just going to reach for my glasses. It's just trouble. I can't see anything. So like the reveal is the reveal.
Like normally people that are having their air cook can kind of see what's going on, like, as it's going on. And he did put it in like loads of each other's massive clips. So he'd talk like the middle bit, which is again, it's never happened before. They've always just caught it and there you go.
Yeah. So I was like, oh, I'm going to go and talk with my hair. Clips it off. In about five clips.
That's too fun. And then like obviously everything else is just like being gone. He's just whipping it off with the raises. That's great.
That's great though. It shows an extra Jennifer. Oh, it's not like literally guys, it's up in hour and a half, an hour and a half. That was a lot of hair.
I nearly asked him if they did Insolent Waxing for a joke, but then I didn't because I thought this is weird. This is weird. Don't ask him while he's doing a bit. Yeah.
Yeah. But while he's doing the bit, I'm thinking, okay, yeah, why aren't you moving the chair around? Like, you know, that would make it easier for you. Just boys legovers.
Just getting that on the bit. Oh, no. It's like, oh, you know, it's like, you know, what? And then I was thinking, what would you do if you straddled you?
Because you can't suddenly move. Because if you suddenly move, you might take half the beard off. Well, you just have to go with it, wouldn't you? This is what they do now.
That's a British thing because we would go for it. Americans would be like, what the fuck are you doing? That's very true. Get off me.
I'm sorry for the TMI folks, but having been for an Insolent Wax. Just one and never again. Shit. I went on at nine o'clock on a Saturday morning in Liverpool for an Insolent Wax.
And that was horrifying. Horrifying. Horrifying. It's the worst experience.
Ninety in the morning as well. It's probably the best then. Because imagine going at three. It's so British.
I was apologizing. I'm really sorry. You have to start your day looking at... ...and she was like, it's fun, love, I don't know.
But I can see her saying love as well. Yeah, it's fun, love. Like in a glove. I'm like, oh my God.
The worst part was nobody fucking warns you about this shit. I was like, okay, you know, I can do this. It's fine. It's when she said right now on all fours, please.
What's the crack of my ass? You should be teaching this. No, I didn't hear him crack of my ass. I was like, oh my God, just kill me now.
And then you see him dropping the... ...whatever they use, the strip into the bin and it looks like a discarded carpet. Like, what's that guy that used to go round your house with a carpet? Like samples.
And they were always like strips of carpet. Yeah, yeah. Which one do you want? It's like dropping a fucking carpet sample in the bin.
It's just not saying that that's the case. No, no, and it's... Do you know what? It certainly wasn't.
But they give you a pair of paper knickers, like a paper thong that you put on that's a modesty knicker. Well then they... What's the point? Exactly.
So they're just moving that aside whenever they need to. So it's like, why am I caught this fucking paper? So the humiliation level is so high. So now I'm wearing a paper thong and you're just shifting it aside to just get to where you need to.
See, I was kind of thinking when I was getting a bear done. This is really... If anyone's tuning in for this podcast for the first time, I thought this was a wrestling trip. Just skip it on to me.
We'll get there eventually. There's loads of things we're going to talk about, don't you worry. But if I'm thinking... If I'm feeling oddly uncomfortable during a bear trim, I imagine if I was getting like my balls whacked.
Or your ass bleached. Gwyneth. Gwyneth. If anybody gets that, good.
Anything else? Should we get one? We probably should move away from this. Get away with waxing the cracks of our asses, but...
And the giant is almost there. And by the way, it's episode of 100 Night's. One night one? One night one.
Can you believe it? One achievement. Acast to China Steelers, by the way. Acast.
Acast to the... It's been Jericho's on. A lot of podcasts are on Acast, right? But it's kind of like Spotify.
But you get emails going, congratulations, RCM. You've got 200 episodes, even though we've not. We have. Well they say...
If you go back... Absolutely. So they're saying you can switch to us for free and you can monetize it. It's like, I don't think we have to be able to do this when I listen to podcasts.
So would we have to do those adverts ourselves? No. No, no, no. It's just a little bird mopfers.
I know. I mean, I would do that. But it's not. It would be a little plinky plonky music would play at set points in the show.
Or like at the beginning and at the end. Right. And there'd be adverts and maybe one smack bang in the middle. I mean, we don't really have any natural breaks in the middle.
I can see it also being able to monetize. We swear to you. Yeah. Well, it would be very low, wouldn't it?
Yeah. So I think we've got like $250 in that YouTube account. That's still not been a factor on. We can't get it.
We can't. It has to be like... When I go to it, I can get it. I can't.
There's something about it. It's American. You have to like put all your sort of like tax information and everything and you end up paying American tax. We have to pay that as part of the tax.
It's dead. It's super complicated. Just to get to it. Exactly.
That's why I was like fuck it. I've hit YouTube. You can't just put it in my bang bang. It's very complicated.
It's quite complicated. Yeah. That's good. Hello everyone and welcome once again to RTM Wrestling this episode, 191.
If you can believe it. Hope you're all doing well. Hope you're all safe and in a week where a legend died, another legend completely disregarded pro wrestling and even I, yes I, Andy James, watch Monday Night Raw. We are here to talk you through the week in wrestling.
What we think is interesting in a week in wrestling. So I hope you're all doing well. Hope you're all staying safe. My name's Andy.
And Jenna. And here we are. And because you're listening to the show, you know where to find it. I don't need to tell you where to find it because you're listening to me right now.
But what you may not know is Ron Twitter. So it's at RTM Wrestling on Twitter. If you want to join us in our conversation, we do read out the majority of ones that we get through the ones that we don't read out or even soon don't know to explicit to try and keep it clean, even though we are not. Hence the pre show.
But yeah, here's a song on Twitter. We, most of the time we're on there talking about some sort of crap that's gone from the week. I put my little eyes on things that I think you should look at. So check it out.
Well, it's not. I'm all right. How are you doing? Yeah, I'm super good.
Super good. Yeah, it's not going to start well. No, no, no, no, no. So Scott Hall, one of the key characters in the late 90s, pro wrestling boom, something known from his intelligence when it came to the profession has passed away.
And the age of 63, he suffered a broken hip last week under went surgery and there was major complications to that surgery. He had blood clots, which led to heart attacks. And I have been because of what I've been doing from college. I've been learning about how that works.
It's awful. It was part of live support. He was telling me members around. He was then took off live support and survived for a good amount of time afterwards.
But unfortunately, he couldn't pull through. So that's really sad because it's kind of. One of the, I would say, you know, you hear about the rest of the time and your Brodie ladies are particularly bad one because of, you know, the timing of it and you know, so you're only going to everything and he was still, you know, on top of his game. I think hearing about like legends passing away and all this kind of stuff is a regular occurrence because there is so many professional wrestlers when he gets us certain names like we are.
You do start hearing about the ones from your childhood and all that kind of stuff. If I'm completely honest, Scott Hall never really made an impact on me personally because I was a WWF guy and I kind of got into him, you know, I thought Raisam Oak was alright, but too young to know any difference. Yeah. You know, when I watched, I'm going to talk about that in a second.
They had a, yeah, so Raw had a bit of a montage that they obviously threw together really quickly and it was really well done and they'll probably do a better one for the next show. We've been tonight. It's a smack down, you know. But it is quite astounding how big of an impact he did have.
And I remember somebody showing an ECW show where he just went as part of like a house show and it wasn't supposed to be filmed or anything. And he came out to a radio or not. Is it Fuji's? Yeah, yeah.
And the crowd, oh my God, the crowd had got an absolutely fucking bananas for him. And yeah, and to hear, you know, after all the shit that he's been through and all the demons he's had and coming out the other side and, you know, doing the whole fame where he looks fantastic and, you know, he seemed like he'd really turned that corner, you know, something as innocuous as breaking his head. I mean, there's been a few things today that I've kind of looked at that I've said like, oh, maybe there was more to it than that. But I don't want to know.
You can. So the guy passed away and there's like these rag, it was only on rag sheets. So like things like wrestling observer. They were doing it through Brodie Lee though, when he died.
We're desperate for it to be COVID like and there was so many like rag sheets that like it is COVID and it wasn't. And we know that now, but it took his wife having to do a post because of all the rag sheets, explaining what happened to him because it was such a, it was just that was a shit show and they were just so desperate to say the guy's fucking dead. Like why didn't, like leave it? Just literally leave the dead be like, why do we all know?
We all go out and write even to know that he had heart attacks and hip surgery. It's like really private to me. So totally is. And like, because I, you know, as long time to show no, I'm a bad remelter.
I'm very into the rest of the server. I think it's a really reputable like site. You know, when they do post salacious stuff, it's very either quickly top down because of the reaction or, you know, it's because it's been confirmed by many sources. So, you know, the whole thing on the rag sheets today is like more details about Scott Hall's there.
We don't need to know these more details about his deck. I don't want to know what troubles he was going through. It's not for me to know. The fact is that the guy who's passed away and it's awful.
And you know, I know a lot of people are like trotting out that line, like I said at the Hall of Fame, but it is a fucking fantastic line. I love it. You know, I remember at the time thinking, holy shit. Me too.
I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I first watched that and I didn't know too much about him. And I'd seen him, obviously in the iconic pictures of him with his toothpick and all that. So I had seen him, I didn't know too much about him. And then he came on that Hall of Fame, he looks fantastic.
Yeah, he did, he delivered that speech. I remember feeling really emotional and I was like, I don't know why that's got to me because it doesn't even, it doesn't resonate with me in any way. But he just delivered it so well and the crowd were into it and it was just, it was just one of those all time great moments. Totally.
And it was, and it was, and when you, when you think about like Hall of Fame, because the guy who did his, helping do his, did his Hall of Fame speech said like, well, the first thing that's got said to me when we were putting it together was people go on for way too long. I want to keep this short because there's more of us. You know, yeah. So, so we, so we knew, we knew at all times what would be the best kind of thing to do.
And apparently he came up with that line, you know, dreams, dreams come true. Bad times, bad times don't last but bad guys do. Oh shit. Like it was just absolutely fascinating.
Such a moment. It was amazing. And my sort of introduction to Scott Hall was the kind of NWO like invasion type things when Rock went against Hogan, Austin went against Scott Hall. And I remember the time like a lot of people like, I fuck this Austin Scott Hall match, it should be Austin against Hogan.
So I kind of played it down and the weight kind of, it was in the card, it was like mid, middle of the card. And I remember Austin was quite publicly, I should have been against Hogan. Because I was the bigger deal out of me in the rock. But I think Hogan wanted to go against the rock.
But that was kind of, you know, I thought it was kind of a throwaway match. But really when you think about it now, it's like Scott Hall versus Stone Cold Steve Austin, WrestleMania. It's wild in it. You ain't getting much bigger than that.
It shows our spoil everyone was at that time. Yeah, Christ. It was, it was like, that will never happen again. Like I was spoiled.
Everybody was in terms of like the level of star that was kicking about just loads of them. It's such a joke, really. Yeah, definitely. And it was that, you know, I got this off Wrestle Observer that that sort of down shift.
And obviously, you know, saying about like the wrestling boom and all that kind of stuff was a reason why there was a wrestling boom. And it was for people like Scott Hall. And you know, I have choice things to think about people like Kevin Nash, like how much did they actually do? But you know, those two, I don't think if it was anybody else, like if Lex Luger or Bret Hart at the time or anybody else jumped and tried to do that, I don't think it worked because they weren't charismatic enough.
Scott Hall had charisma for fucking days and he was funny with it as well. And you know, this is like, it depends what your style of humour is. But a sweet kind of that he did resurfaced, you know, in the days when he was sort of clear that he wasn't going to make it and kind of sort of, and he was talked for the joke that he was meant to be taken for. But I think if any of that, if it happened before, it's definitely not been in sort of like a trouble about it.
But I liked it. And it's probably better left, but anyway, I'm going over a few ways. He had a picture of himself, the Undertaker and Chris Behmah. And he's like, me, Dead Man and the Undertaker.
Oh my god. And I was like, oh my god, that is like so bad. It's really bad. But you know, I thought he was funny.
And if people did take offense to it, then fair enough because I can see why. But I just think that I think like when something like that happens, if you don't, because I'm 33, don't know a great deal about his career because I've not gone back because I didn't like WCW. I didn't really, I don't really remember too much of the room they had when it was, you know, WWF coming back again as the NWO and all I remember is like Vince saying, I'm going to inject some poison into the show and then out comes NWO. So I've only really seen him.
You know, say since we've been doing this podcast, we've been really, you know, watching wrestling certainly as the legend kind of giving back and doing the NXT stuff. And I remember it was, but somebody said like the, oh, it was the black said that, you know, in NXT him and Shawn Michaels did a session where they declared the ladder match. Like the infamous, you know, in the title ladder match that they go for and went through it and said why did they did this and I did that. And he said like Scott Hall was always really attentive and anybody who asked him any questions he was there and he was giving his advice.
You know, the guy did have a lot of personal things going on. He is in the Jake Roberts documentary doing the same thing. It could quite easily have been about him. And then he got his shit together and he looked great and he was doing indie bookings and was a few times when he'd like, you know, had to pull out because of health reasons and all that kind of stuff.
It's just really sad. But like you said before, I always heart back to, do you remember like before the pandemic? Maybe like 2016 and it was that year where a load of big celebrities died and everyone's like, Oh my God, this is like such a bad year. And you know, it was like, maybe I don't know.
It's like Prince and Alan Rickman or it was a load of celebrities died in the same year. And it was just awful. But I was watching something on TV because this is pre pandemic and nothing much was going on. So it was something that the news discussed.
Wow, this has been a fucking awful year for celebrities and they have this person on and I don't know what the fuck their job was, but essentially they were saying you were going to have more years like this because the entertainment industry so young that people, you know, like if you're talking about when cinema became so huge, everybody could go and you're talking post war and the night, the swinging sixties and music really sort of rock and roll came about and beals and pop music and it's like, those people are going to start dying now. So it's going to start feeling like everybody's dying because that's the birth of it. And we're at the end of those first people now. And it's we'd say with wrestling, like he was young though and that's the problem with wrestlers.
It's but it's, you know, like you can cast aspersions as to why, but that's we're going to start seeing it happen more and more and more and more and more. Yeah. Essentially because of how maybe maybe not quite as soon as like Hollywood and all that shit. But you know, if you're talking about like when wrestling like fucking massive in like the eight season nine series, we are going to start getting these really sad endings like more frequently I think, which is just tough.
But I guess it's just the way it goes. Yeah. It was too fast. But yeah, the thing with this for me because like New Japan did a few shows in, if it was New Japan and you know, obviously, a w did a tribute and then like, on the new interviews, tribute was like, he was never with your company.
And it's like these people need to fucking shoot these people who are so ingrained in this like rivalry when there isn't one. Well, there's no there's no Trump anymore. So you need something to argue about. No, the religion's not got a hold anymore.
That's why exactly why these not cases come out. But yeah, super sad. And the last thing that I kind of thought about it, I don't know if we give it some shit. I don't know.
A lot of people give it some shit. But for moments like this is why the networks there, yeah, because you can't because like obviously, you know, we're in a mindset at the moment where WWE are doing too many things that allows them that, you know, I can't ill good conscience. Not only is I think the product bad, but there's too many things going on that I'm really against. So I can't in a good conscious field anyway.
So I won't do that. However, if you are a WWE network subscriber, go back and watch some shit because you can do. You can watch that entire WCW run. You can watch them coming back.
You can watch got a whole doing these thing, a WWF pre WCW is razor mode. Like I saw a little thing today that was like, I think it was on YouTube. It's like a YouTube short and it was like a bit like I'm sure a, you know, a w's got it from this or maybe it's an evolution of this. But the rampage, it's time for the main event where like, you know, my company's interviewing both and they're both kind of there.
Like gene, I mean, genes like interviewing razor mode and don't the clown. I like to pull up like original don't the clown like good, don't the clown, not like what it sort of morphed into being just mental. And you know, that guy could deliver a promo and he was like, oh, you're not going to make a clown out of me. I'm the only one who can do that and all this kind of stuff, which was like really like, great.
Yeah, but that's what it was. It was meant to be dark. It wasn't meant to be like a kid's thing. That's what it turned into.
But originally, like I think he was like born or something like I can't remember quite his name, which is awful. But then it cuts like raisin. He's got like this toothbook in his mouth and he's like, Chico, I'm going to beat the hell out of you. But it was a really good back and forth.
And it's like, fuck, we go on about like eight C's wrestling, you know, even up in tele-attitude era, really bad promos and bad gimmicks and you know, oh, this guy's a plumber. This guy's a really old man. This guy's been, you know, and then you've got, you know, don't the clown who is the same as the undertaker, not the same as the undertaker is in popularity, obviously. But you couldn't give the undertaker to anybody else.
No. It would have worked just as well. So, you know, undertaker is the only one who could pull that off. As it turned out, I don't know if it was Matt Baughan or something like that, he was the only one who could pull off the clown.
Same eraser of all, they tried for a little time when they left to get replacement razor of all the same as like, oh, Jesus Christ, absolutely awful. But yeah, super sad. Mm. You know, I think I hope because he was, I don't know how conscious he was, but I'm hoping he got to see a bit of the love and the, you know, the shit that was going on online for him.
I don't think he did though, because I think he was out. But it's one of them things like like, Paul has been saying recently of like, giving somebody the flowers while they're still around. And there is a lot of people like that that probably deserve to have that level of, you know, congratulations while they're still here. This is the thing.
I think it's really hard to do because of by nature, you know, you don't know what you've got till it's gone. You know, as a reason it's a cliche, like, and a song. But it's true. It would be, you know, it's tough because as a fan, it kind of, it's a bit weird if you wrote OTT about somebody when they're alive.
And you might seem as a bit of a weirdo. Or if you said to them, you know, like, you know, you told them something like that. If you met them, like, I don't think it necessarily resonates that much. Well, it is still worth saying because those things people do remember.
And even if they may not really give a shit when you say it, although I think it's probably when you said it. Yeah. But like, you know, like at least you did. You know that if anything happens to me, at least you know that you in person, and I know that's not like, might be a hollow sort of thing.
But it's not because those things, it's useful when you're dead. Exactly. I'm not saying that. Imagine if you pick somebody out or like, you're WWE picks somebody out.
And I know the kind of do with the Hall of Fame, that's a little bit of that. And I know a lot of people have got a lot of problems with the Hall of Fame. And there's one of those problems that is going to rear its head later. But those kind of moments are for them.
And I know like, what's the fun is we get to go to Hall of Fame. We've been to Hall of Fame. It was great. Yeah, it's just a good celebration of people that you've been watching for a long time.
Yeah. Do you know what? It is a joyful night. It's boring as fuck on television.
Like it really, really is. But being there feels very different. It feels very different. Because you do feel like you're watching a show.
Whereas on TV, it feels like it is very much a show. It's quite laborious and long, but it flew by when we were there. Yeah, well, because you don't have any cuts. So there's no like, oh, you know, DDP's just on his entrance speech.
We're going to go back to Bivens' accident. Who's going to get Liv Morgan's opinion on what's been going on. I don't know. He gives a fuck.
Do you know what I mean? Absolutely. But yeah, R.I.P. Scott Hall.
If you do have a network, go back and look at it. If you want to tweet us maybe a few things that you think you should see or you think you should talk about, go ahead. I'll see you in a second. Now, in a new segment, I'm going to call Worst Thing of the Week.
Oh, wow. I didn't know you were going to do this. I'm going to go there. Because we've talked about this a few times and saying, you know, when we used to watch WWE, I felt like we always used to have something to say on the podcast because it wound us up.
So it got us to the point where we were like, holy shit, this is this bad. Oh my God. What are they doing to NXT? Oh, I don't know.
I do think something interesting like chats came out of it. But the second thing was what kind of spikes me off as to thinking, right? I need to start pointing this shit out. But I did watch Monday Night Raw.
Just as an aside, I'm really sorry. I'm vaping like a motherfucker. I'm like, oh, I've got to drink me hands. I'm vaping a bit.
Do you guys know? Yeah. But yeah, I watch Monday Night Raw. I can't believe you did.
I mean, I know why you did. There was a reason why you did. But that shouldn't have been a good enough reason. No, no, no.
But if I was all put that time, I would have done too, to be honest, just out of pure more big curiosity. Yeah. So I tell you the situation was I was up doing some college work, you know, not really being able to concentrate. I kept going to Twitter.
I was just having a look at what was going on. And I saw that the crowd were chanting for Cody. And I was like, Jesus. Because that, you know, if you believe they're actually easy, believe the, you know, the more reputable journalists, Jacksonville, Florida Monday Night Raw was when they thought Cody Jones was going to be.
He hasn't signed a deal yet. So that's why he wasn't there. Really? Really?
Well, because that was the whole plan because they wanted to bring Cody out in Jacksonville in AEW's market and to sort of twist in quotes, this, I saw this line quoted so many times by twisting the knife. That was so pathetic. But the thing is, is that I do get it because in my, although the companies are so vastly different financially and legacy and whatever, in my head, they're one of the same. Like I, apart from the facts that I will buy you don't have any qualities, 10 times better.
And that's what I like. But to me, if I forget the billions and billions of what WWE have got, I don't think anyone of them, morally, is better than the other. So AEW twists the knife with WWE. I expect it to happen the other way as well.
Yeah. And the more people they sign from AEW, the more they are going to do that. And again, it, because AEW, not, yeah, it has done it directly. It's done it very directly.
Most of it did come from Cody ironically enough. But, so I do, I do get why they would do that. And I think Vince enjoys that. I think that's his like favourite thing in the world.
Yeah, absolutely. And so I, can you just be my fasseline tin for my lips and ears? It's back there. Oh, yes, that's it.
Thank you. Thank you for the lips on my face. So I, I saw this. I saw the first half an hour maybe.
I can't remember a lot of the show. But I remember watching it and thinking Christ, like the advertising, the camera cuts, the awful, you know, the awful gimmicks that they're still doing for entrances. Like it's, it's still, do you remember when we had that thing where we were saying, why did we do we start doing this thing where someone's coming out for an entrance and they've got these really awful looking graphics. Oh yeah, yeah, that's gonna match.
Really bad. They're still doing that shit. Oh my God. They're still doing that.
They've got the work experience person doing all the graphics. So what I may or maybe got a job off the back of it. But God, the advertising is just consistent. The amount of times I saw the MSG promo for Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
So the point where on Twitter people were saying, okay, we get it. Like actually saw so many tweets of it because we're looking at the raw thing just, just to see because I'm not doing it for so long. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Again, if I was up at that time, I would, it's a bit more of a curiosity in the same way that those mad people don't like age will use things to watch every week.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, and they should watch it more. Yeah, so, you know, the play in this promo package for Reigns and Lesnar, like, consistently. Interesting.
What I did see was because when they did the barbed wire, death match or whatever, you know, apparently, and this is something that wasn't widely publicized at the time, because there's been so many things that WWE have done. It's a fuck with A.W. But apparently they've submitted like a fucking complaint about how violent it was because it was blurred and all that kind of stuff. Whereas, you know, MSG, the showing that Lesnar is completely bust open from real shots by the way, because that's the way Vince likes it.
He doesn't like people getting a blade out, but if you caught each other open, like, for real, then it's fine. And so you remember when Lesnar did it to water, and he was like, oh, well, we had seen her as well. So the showing this loads of times, there was a segment for Orton and Riddle, where he was having like a celebration party that was just odd, like I thought was really strange. I can't remember a lot of it.
