Alright, we're here at the Uni Clutch booth and basically I'm here with Justin who's from North Coburg in Melbourne But I was a firm punch above their weight, something clutches to state. Mate, how's the show going? How you going? Great, so far.
So everyone that sees a product, a really visual product, they're on their sees it, they think, well, how come no one thought about this earlier? That's a great response. A lot of the things people figure it out pretty far. It's great.
I see how this works. So we've been manufacturing Clutch since 1951. So we've been a bit of time in this and shame on us that we didn't come up with this system earlier. About six years ago we said, look, this clutch game, pretty hard, there's a lot of SKUs, huge variety of SKUs.
How do we make it simpler while not compromising on that? And what we developed then was Uni Clutch, which is a performance, twin plate clutch range, great for forward drives, good for street cars as well as in track as well. And we do that all in a SKU count that's less than 30 SKUs and fitting most cars on the road. So I'll take you through a bit of the range.
So we see we have two sizes here. We have an 8 inch and a 10 inch. As I said before, they're a twin plate clutch, so we got two clutch gear in them. Twin plates usually a lot of people have a lot of issues with them.
So I guess to start we've complicated to install lots of different components, quite hard. We have a preassembled one. So the clutch dis, a preassembled, we also contain a flywheel friction surface. So this is doing the act of your flywheel itself.
And we're then just using the flywheel as a bolting surface. So we start off with a clutch core. This is just the Uni Clutch. Then we have a Fitmikit.
Now the Fitmikit is kind of vehicle specific, but I actually fit a lot of different vehicles. So we see all these bolt holes on here. That means it's going to fit lots of different cover assemblies. Lots of different flywheels.
And we also have the bolt holes at different sizes, different areas in order to one size fits all. Yeah, so essentially how we do the Fitmikit is in diameter of flywheel. So you'll be mixed on there with lots of different manufacturers. We'll have BMW, we'll have Suzuki on there, we'll have Subaru.
Lots of different manufacturers on one flywheel mount because it's drilled for all of them. So then what you have is well in the Fitmikit is a spline. So we have a removable spline system. So the customer just pops out in there on the mechanic when they're doing that.
And there's a circlip and that's a QSYS spline. Now also great if you're doing engine swaps, we now have splines for lots of different transmissions in there. So really handy if you're doing something a bit weird and it fits up. So once we've done that, we'll then bolt this bit of ring to the clutch and then you can bolt that straight onto the flywheel.
So the flywheel does not need to be machined, it does not need to be removed. Keep that on the car and save your hoist time in getting the flywheel machined. So it's basically one size fits all mainly and you've probably put the product all together. So let's mucking around when you think about it and it does the job as a tool punch.
So along there, the other thing we really wanted to stay away from was compromise. Now universal products, obviously there's a negativity around that word because things are compromised on it. But we don't do that, it's a modular system that then is custom, this Fitmikit is custom for wheeled cars. So we sort of get around that.
Now a lot of the negatives as well about performance clutch kits is how it feels and how it drives. Driveability is really important for us. So we didn't want to compromise, talk capacity for drive build. Usually what you have is you have a heavy pedal.
That's very standard because hey you've got to put more clamp load on it and to hold the torque capacity. We don't need to do it because we've got a twin plate. We essentially have doubled our surface area friction material. So that allows us to have a huge amount of torque capacity without doing compromising things like increasing the clamp load on it.
Because everyone thinks about horsepower first, they want to put the power down. And then it's crap to drive. They forget about the pressure, forget about the brakes, they forget about the tires, they forget about everything else. Even if it's a weekend car, you don't want to enjoy it and drive it around.
You don't have to be juttering around or you don't have a heavy pedal. And this is like in a lot of cases, this one's actually lighter than OEM. And then we have one with a slightly heavier clamp load which is generally about OEM for it. The customer can navigate through to our catalogue and we will tell them what it feels like compared to the OEM.
So we tell them how much more torque capacity it has and is it going to be lighter, same as or heavier? No, I'm not ready to go. So I can get in contact with your company and basically tell you this is a vehicle I've got. You can do it yourself on the website.
You've got a catalogue of vehicles and it'll tell you everything. Navigate yourself on the website. You go to uniclutch.com. You go to our website.
By the way, you've done well. It's like your first repair. I know you guys have been at SEMA for years. It's like your first year.
It's our first year for this brand. We've come in the past for our Manta brand which was probably eight, nine years ago. But our first year since then and first year with this product. It's like bearing you to market.
It's really July. So with the other products, the market to America before was the first time. Yeah, so our product Mantic which is street performance and also racing. We currently distribute in America and we had showed there in the past.
That helped us sort of open up some doors and get a bit of visibility in this kind of crowded market. Great amount. We have 300 million people, 360, 70 million people. And 120,000 people walking up and down these hallways.
And there is hundreds of clutch manufacturers in base in America. So for us, we have to get out there and sort of be visible. So it's kind of a long slot. That's the thing.
We've said that before. We're 25 million people. There's 350 million here. It's a big market.
We sell them in their new cars. They sell like a million F-150s. America is a place to come. And then Europe, not so much.
Little buzz boxes. This is where all the action is. Yeah, yeah. And these guys, you know, they're the culture.
It's kind of similar to our culture. Probably a bit more over the top. So you see craziest here. So there's more craziest people doing crazy things.
So it is a great market to get into. But you know, there's definitely competition in this market. We think we have something. Yeah, I was going to say, it looks fantastic.
The way it's set up and presented. It's different to what's out there. So good luck with it. I'm a hypercosm of research.
That's why I came and found you. Awesome. We do a Victoria trip. So I might give you a quick look.
Oh, great. We'll come down and have a chat. We're based in the city. Okay, cool.
Yeah, yeah. It'll be great. We'll show you through manufacturing and everything like that. So we're a fairly small manufacturing team.
But all of our efficiency. We can make a clutch every five minutes. We can show it out. We're very limited people.
I was going to say next year. I know you've got a photo of the Commodore. You've got to bring one here. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Just show the Americans. That's all of it. Yeah. Thank you very much.
Thank you for dropping by.
