I've got Heath here, the managing director of Harrop Engineering. Harrop is an institution when it comes to Australian modification and they've got to stand here at SEMA. Mate, how's it going? How's the show going this year?

Really well Peter, it's great to catch up. This is our fourth or fifth year. We had a gap with COVID. But it's the biggest show globally.

So it's an awesome opportunity to connect with customers and also suppliers and network with people in the industry that we do business with. So it's the makeup. And have you got like an office in the States now or a shop where you just supply kids to manufacturers here? Have you got yourself into the American market?

So we incorporated a company which is wholly owned by the Australian business. So I'm based in Melbourne where Harrop's always been located and we're in Dayton, Ohio. So we've got a small facility there that does warehousing, technical support, some satellite engineering activity. And it's a great part of the country in the Midwest.

It's very central to both the East Coast and the West Coast in terms of logistics. And the US market for us is very supercharger-focused. So we've got most of our superchargers available here in this market. And it's an exciting place to be.

And it's a very big market for us as well. So a lot of our growth is coming out to the US. And it's similar. I mean we grew up in Ford's and General Motor Product who hold them.

So that's probably was a logical step to make your way across. Is there any other, is it all GM and Ford still here? Is there other products here that you've got your hands involved? Well, similar to the Australian mix, we've got Toyota's a big brand for popularity and enthusiast vehicles that people want to modify.

So we've got the Toyota 86 which is about that 4-cylinder box or Subaru engine. There's the V6s that we paid for with the 1GR which is the 4L of the V6 that we used to have in the highlucks. But that's in the 4Runner over here in the FJ-4s. We've done a supercharger kit for the Tacoma which is like our highlucks equivalent.

But it's got a V6 naturally aspirated 3.5 litre that we've got a 1900 displacement supercharger. And then we've also got the V8 Toyota which is the 3UR only available in Australia on the Lexus 570. But over here the Land Cruises and all of the time cruises up until 2021 had the 3UR 5.7. So there's big sellers for us but GM and Ford are definitely popular.

And we've got the Godzilla product for that new 7.3 gas engine, the petrol engine that's in the Super Duty 4s and the Coyote Supercharger which is in a lot of F1.5s and also Mustang. And then on the GM side there's all the LT, direct injection engines that we've seen now with Silverado's back home and for a little while we've had the Camaros. The LS is still by far the biggest engine platform in terms of swaps and aftermarket support available parts. People building engines making big horsepower to compact package the number of cars.

It's a good engine. That's very LS the world is a relevant craze. And it's the cost as well. I mean if you've got a product that's pretty much a weak and biparto where it's easy to modify, horsepower is expensive but it's also, if you go the LS way it's not that expensive.

Well bang for bucks a big thing like we just did a C10 build that we talked to a lot of the shows in the midwest then we've been focusing on some of those outdoor shows. So the good guys events are the hot rod and custom car shows so we did Iowa, did Columbus, we did Nashville and we took a Black C10. I think it's an early 60s like it might be a 64. It's got a 5.3 LS so like a takeout engine out of a truck and we've just got a 2300 Supercharger on that with a cam and it made 500 horsepower to the tires and that's bolt on performance.

So for us our customers want something that's straightforward to do the install and it's reversible with they decide but it's less complicated than some other upgrades that might require fabrication or cutting and we like to try and provide an engineered solution that's mostly bolt on ready to go. And how's the shows? I mean America's a big place. Australia only got two or three cities and what's some of that's and there's no real shows.

Are you going to be able to suitcase here? Like are you going from show to show? Well I'm just selecting. We've got a team over here that have been doing the shows.

I've done a couple during the summer months. For seeing the midwest during winter there's cars virtually parked up for the winter because it's cold on roads. But during summer and spring there's a lot of outdoor shows. I'd managed to get over to a few of them but the team over here did the others.

But we have an OBS and old body style 3500 Julia. It's a 96. We're actually going to do an engine swap on that which we'll put on our YouTube channel so check out HaropTV. But it's currently a big block 454 with a 4L80 which can put something a little bit more modern with something less and more more gears in the transmission.

And we've got a 24 foot in tech trailer and it's got a really cool awning on it. We can take a car along, do it display a little bit like C-Mum but we engage with a lot of enthusiasts that have got either older cars or they're thinking about a project field or they've got a truck that they want to supercharge. So that's really being our focus for this year and I think it's worked nicely for that part of the country. But there's so many events over here.

It's impossible to do all sorts of things. But C-Mum is a very big one and also PRI which is a related event to C-Mum that's in December up in Indianapolis. And that's very much focused on hardcore people that know what they're looking for. They're ready to do business.

They're well researched and that's a great event as well. So that's in Indy which is very close to Dayton. That's not the second. Is it the supply only?

Is it the whole style of the supply? Is it where the Indy one? Is that open to public? Or is that a other trade?

No, it's purely trade. But to be fair Peter this event has a lot of people that come to Vegas and they get tickets off buddies or they like this event. Really? That happens?

I might get in trouble from seeing them but I'm mentioning that. But there's quite a few guys here that are just going to have a look. There's some pretty cars. There's you know, well our past is legit.

It's okay we're not going anywhere. There's a lot of extravagant foods. At PRI you don't get that. Like even GM performance they'll have a 20 by 20 feet who's like we will and it's just all about the parts and talking tech with them and talking about the price.

Excellent. This is the extra begins as the car culture event and we have great conversations with everyone that attend the scene as well. The fun with the F1 was on tomorrow with the next day. I don't know if we want to be in Vegas with the F1s.

I think it'll be as spectacle but I think it's one of those ones that you get a better experience on TV. True. Yeah, we've seen the setup of the traffic. It's going to be where you stand on the main street.

You might consider anything. You might consider seeing a blurb at night. The investment that they've done on the whole infrastructure is going to be phenomenal. And that's fair.

It's going to be awesome. It's not going to be an awesome event. I'm almost glad that it's not the same with you. It's hard enough to get around.

Thank you very much for your time. Plug away mate. So you got to set Harop TV's on YouTube. Yeah, we've obviously got the Harop performance on Instagram and Facebook.

Harop USA.com for our US list. We've been around a long time in Australia. So we've been very grateful for all the support and recognition and patronage that we've made for our D&As and our passion for performance. It's one of those big Australian companies that have made it in the States.

It's synonymous with ARBs, like for the other big Australian companies. A few young up and company companies that I see as well but it's good to see that your product does speak to the Americans. It works and it will like with it. Thank you for your time.

I appreciate it. Thank you. Alright mate. That was awesome.
