Send us Fan MailBook a Dream Consultation with Merritt  Do wounds from your past threaten your confidence or progress toward your God-shaped dream? Do you have trouble believing that God sees you and knows your needs? Yolanda King shares her story of childhood abuse and neglect that could have kept her stuck in fear and seeking approval from others. But God had a different plan. Today she’s helping other women overcome obstacles and trauma to create a life and career they love. After I was a guest on the She’s Called and Confident podcast with Yolanda last fall, I knew I wanted to bring her on the Devoted Dreamers podcast. Her heart for Christian women with a calling or a passion from God is so aligned with mine. Yolanda believes everyone has a story and a calling that is going to make a difference in this world, and hers is such a reminder of God’s grace and his plan to redeem what’s been broken in this world. As you listen, I hope you’ll notice the following points that stood out to me:  Your healing and wholeness is a priority! If you’re still holding on to hurts from your past, it’s worth it to do the work, with Jesus, to be healed. Why you can embrace your story, no matter the details, instead of hiding from it or trying to shove it under the rug; God is going to use it for your good and his glory! A reminder from Philippians that he is going to complete the work he has begun in you, and that is true even if it feels like your dream is dead. Just wait. He’s a God of resurrection!
