Alright, so we've got Sean here from Team Plus, another winner in the new showcase awards. So what product did you buy up with in the joint? What did you guys have? What we got there is a tight temperature system for race cars called a wheel turtle.
It's a total shake device. It came from that and my daughter came up with an aim. That's good. And it's a trademark.
So it's a device for measuring live tight temperatures. Eight temperatures across the face of a race tyre. Live for the driver but also for the engineer to set up another element. So while the car is actually on track, it's still in reading?
Especially our races look at tyre pressure. I think my pressures need to be X when they're hot. But actually that's always been a proxy for the temperature of the rubber of the tyre, which is the actual piece. The temperature has to be right to give you the best grip.
And it gets too hard. It wears out too quickly. It's also the problems of it's too cold. It's not giving you the grip.
So getting them in that van. And what's amazing when people start to use these sensors is understanding that tyres go from 60 degrees celsius to 120 during a corner and back down again. The temperature is that extreme. During that turn?
That corner. Yeah, that was about that. So it's a 10-minute-old back or something. You will be putting 120.
Yeah. It turns too long anything else. It turns long and loaded, but turns too much sharper and pushing near you. Yeah, yeah.
It picks up 120 degrees and then you're coming back down. So we're looking to try and coach people and understand where you want those base temperatures to be to get the base level of the grip. Understanding what gets too hot when it goes past that. And helping people set up the cam, but they put on tyres too.
Yes, they can have lots of camber on it. But if it's too hot, some of the places it'll just burn out the inside. It's all using inside of the tyre. Is it rolling out when you go around the corner to use the outside edge or not?
So visually it gives a lot of data to people who aren't data engineers. To be able to set up their track day and or super sprint or time attack car. So how does it measure the temperature in real time? Is there a chip in the tyre or how you develop it?
So the device that sits in the wheelage pointed down at the tyre. Okay. And it is sending Bluetooth to our controller which puts it on the CAN bus for race-stashes. So either way.
Like a telemetry-type system. Yeah. So it's an infrared, essentially an infrared camera inside it. And we 16 by 12 camera that we then break down into eight temperatures across the face of tyre.
And transmit that low. So 10 times a second to the receiver. And so the receiver can be a phone app. As simple as a phone app.
Or it can be a full-on, multi-clo-tech, M-tron, race dash, whatever. And basically it's a way to conserve or protect the tyre while you're racing. So you'll get return out of it from getting better tyre life by setting them correctly. For sure.
You get return on it from better lap times and better performance out of it. And training yourself. Use it at test days to learn how to drive the car differently. Bring your own racing seat and whatever.
Learn how to use the tyre better. So that you're not wearing it out so far. So you get return out of it. But as I've said before, I've had customers who wanted to buy them.
Didn't spend the money. Didn't prioritise it. When I thought that guys were all impressed. If you've understood, I've been tracking them thousands and thousands of damage.
But they could have avoided by knowing that tyre wasn't warm yet. So it returns to you really quickly. Well, I know a fair bit about car racing. If one is the race where they focus on tyre technology a lot of different tyres, it's part of the race.
And you always say that they've got to get the temperature up to get the grip on those tyres. But what's about the opening line where you're sending the corner and the temperature is fluctuated by that much. I mean I'm assuming the F1 tyre is the same thing. But they don't talk about that fluctuation.
Is it temperature or is it a temperature? And they don't want to show any of the images. They actually use imaging cameras completely on each tyre. So they use little detail, not only imaging cameras to know exactly what's happening.
But it's not only how much it fluctuates in a corner. Because that's not too bad. You don't mind it going up. As long as it comes back down to this base thing, you want it to warm up.
You want it to increase its grip. But then you don't want it to be up there all the time because you'll just wear it out. Correct. So it's coming back down.
And if it's coming down, you also know that you don't have enough grip and that's what avoids the accident. Exactly. So you also got, if you're showing too much temperature in the centre and not as much on the outside, maybe you're over and played it. Because you're sitting with both.
If you're getting an opposite, you could get edges really hot, but in the middle, you could go up a little bit in pressure to do that. And it's a technology that all our categories would love to use. I spoke into supercar engineers and they would reach our own engineers with that. So I think they're not legally integrated.
It's not about to say that. Is that something that... It's not legally integrated. You don't have it at the moment in their reason.
But, and it isn't in many categories. And supercars have to be able to test the cars in the same legality as when you run them. So because they're limited testing TCR, for example, there is a couple of cars in there that use my sensors in their test days. And all that run in the races.
But they can test it. They're learning from the tyre. And then there's also the production cars. I don't know.
The SIX hour... They use MRF. They use MRF, which is very difficult tyre. I've heard we've had interviews with some of the races there.
And we see some of the fast BMWs are destroying the deploying tyres up. And they would benefit from being able to see what's going on. And some of the others are not able to get temperature in them. So it's the complete opposite ends of what's going on.
It's a very fine range to get done. It's a hard tyre. It's literally a harder compound tyre. It's a hard tyre to get warm.
And as soon as it gets over warm, it falls about. Yeah, that's right. So it's very fine line. So it's all about production cars, I think, will be the best location for these.
And it's also a lot of amateur to part-time professional races that do that. And it's all given ability to do that without having a full-on set of people. That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
