I sometimes rationalize the situation by thinking many of them do more good than harm. But we are in an information war, and the most sophisticated propagandists in history have developed the strategies we face. Those of us who are awake see the gaslighting and know the deceptions as “limited hangouts,” “false flags,” or “controlled opposition.” A limited hangout or partial hangout is an espionage tactic. Others are unwitting, and some make money on their media platforms.
