194 - Love Where You Live

from The Seacoast Podcast: Things You Won't Hear On Sunday · host Seacoast Church

Do Christians have a responsibility to serve their neighbors? The verse Jeremiah 29:7 calls God’s people to seek the peace and prosperity of the city—to pray for it, to care about it, and to invest in it.  To live this out, Seacoast launched "Love Where You Live” in March to create intentionality around serving people in our communities. It isn’t a one-time event, but rather an initiative to create a culture around loving the people in the communities where God has placed us. Listeners will hear from Local Missions Pastor, Jen Cameron, and three Seacoasters who share their stories about how they’ve made "loving where they live" a lifestyle. With Jack Hoey, Lynne Stroy, Josh Walters, and Joey Svendsen, this episode dissects what serving can look like and explores why it's not really a choice for those who follow Jesus. In this Episode:Nikie Johnson | Facebook | North Charleston Seacoast Dream CenterMegan Masters | Instagram | The Navigation CenterAmy and Joe Welch | Instagram | Welch Community HopeHosts: Jen Cameron | Jack Hoey | Lynne Stroy | Joey Svendsen | Josh Walters To find a community partner or Seacoast Local Missions Ministry you can serve with, check out www.seacoast.org/localmissions and choose your campus. Seacoast Podcast is now on InstagramBe a Patron of the podcast We have a YouTube Channel for videos of all episodes since Jan. 2024. We'd love to hear from you.  E-mail Joey HERE. Producer/Editor/host: Joey SvendsenSound Engineer/Editor: Katelyn Vandiver
