#194 - Sietse Drentje's laatste reis

Het jonge hart van Sietse Drentje werd van tijd tot tijd vervuld met een sterk verlangen op reis te gaan. Hij werkte voor de VPRO-gids, maar zag op tegen de winter, pakte zijn rugzak en liftte naar Turkije. Op 26 januari 1987 werd Sietse Drentje in Turkije vermoord. Hij was 27 jaar oud. De Turkse justitie zette drie vermoedelijke daders vast, maar liet ze bij gebrek aan bewijs weer vrij. Mathijs Deen ontving een dik pak met brieven, geschreven door Sietse in de laatste jaren van zijn leven, tot een paar dagen voor zijn dood. Mathijs sprak met Carla de Kievid, aan wie de brieven gericht waren, met huisgenote en hartsvriendin Annemarie Hoenderdos, en met Aukje, de zus van Sietse, over zijn korte leven en zijn einde.
