You are now listening to the UK and the world's favorite wrestling podcast. Archie and wrestling with your host Andy and Emma. We're on! Oh, Jesus Christ!

Do you want me to stop the start again? No, you okay? No, we have a bit of a drink. Lubricate.

What about that one? Oh, yeah. Oh Christ. Well, the reason why that was such a abrupt start is because we were talking about one of the topics that we're going to be talking about.

And we're just, you know, knocking gold outside. Oh, it's spiraling. The opportunities are endless. They are.

So we're just fucking getting going then. Yeah, so. It's not like bullshit. Get rid of the least bit of full off of me screen.

Hello, everyone. Welcome. Once again. So midweek.

Can you call it? Can we still call this midweek? I don't know what you call Thursday or Tuesday. Midweek episode of the RTM Wrestling Podcast.

It's 196th. To be fair, it's a lot of people's last day at work today because it's the least a weekend. So it's kind of the start of the weekend. They're a lot of people.

Not for me. I've got to do it tomorrow, but as of you. As of you. I've got Elden rings to do.

So welcome, everyone. Hope you're all well. Hope you're all safe. Why are we doing a podcast on Thursday night?

Why not? We are at Wrestling Podcast. You're listening to it. So who cares about plugging where you can hear it, but we're on Twitter.

Ah, see, I'm wrestling with a few tweets coming already, which we'll kind of put it out just as we were starting. So they might filter through at some point. So we'll get to it. My name's Andy.

I'm Gemma. And hello. Hope you're all very well. Why are we doing a midweek show?

You may be thinking. And it is why not really. We're both a bit bored. I was just going to say we're a bit bored, weren't we?

Yeah, there's only so much sheltering you can play before it gets a bit. No, and I was like I said to you before. I was watching Glow Up Island on the BBC. Which I thought was like a love island.

Yeah, it's not actually about Ireland. Make a joke in Ireland. Yeah. Which is entertaining, but what we're doing in my life, do you know what I mean?

Well, maybe that answers my next question. How are you doing? And I was watching as well that fucking Wim Hof guy with all them celebrities. They didn't jump in the ice.

Do you know what though? Really boring show. Is it? Very boring.

Even though they are just kind of plopping a bit of ice. Show them all doing it in great detail. I was like, I want to see one do it. Give a shit.

You're all going to be gone. We have to fall down to their camp. And again, it's show them all doing it. And the play not really dramatic music is all going down.

It's like, one, this is- You know how safe it is. It's really fucking- This is actually quite boring. To make it even more boring, no offense to this woman. It's presented by Holly Willoughby.

Oh, Jesus. It's very boring. And the pot Lee Mack was just like that. Play not playing that.

I do actually quite fine Lee Mack quite funny. Yeah. Lee Mack, you know him if you're sorry. I'm a comedian guy.

He presents things. He was the one who did the perfume advert thing that I always gone about when he says he ate perfume adverts. What does it fucking smell like? That guy.

I think I just like him for that joke to be fair. But God yeah, that was a really fucking boring show. It's like, what am I doing? That's what I was like, Andy what you doing right now?

Can I do something? I'm on my second run through American, Dad. Oh my God. That's literally been most- I tell you one thing that isn't boring though.

Moon night. Oh yeah, you like that, didn't you? Holy shit. I just didn't expect it at all.

So like at the moment I'm in some weird situation where I'm not sleeping at night. Bit like the dude in moon night maybe. But, well, not necessarily sure. But I just thought, sure, I'm playing- I can't remember what it was about.

I thought I was playing the UFC game or something. Because I'm Elden Ringam on my second playthrough. I'm going for a guide. So I can't have anything else on but the guide.

So I can get everything that I missed. And I'm like halfway through it and I missed so much shit. So I thought, fuck, I'll just put this on. And then within like 10 minutes I've stopped playing the game and just sat watching it.

But it didn't change it over to the TV. Just kept it on the laptop like in Mung. But it's amazing. So it's so much more interesting than- because you know with the Marvel films and stuff, you know all of them.

And the series is, I've not tried any of them. Because I was kind of interested in one division. Because that looked a little bit more interesting. But I can't give a shit about what's his name, Winter Soldier and the Hawkeye.

Not Hawkeye, well Hawkeye's got his own series as well. But I'm not really interested in them because they're not going to be moving the story along any more than a film's going to be. Well apparently the Hawkeye one was great because it came out just before Christmas and it was done like a proper like die-hard type Christmas. It was really festive apparently and people would say, oh it's so Christmassy this.

Well this is a thing, they're always really good. You'd never say there was a shit Marvel Studios thing. But even the ones that I'm not so good. Because I've not even seen the Watty cartoon or anything like that.

I'd like them all basically. So for Oscar, I like Oscar Isaac, I'll put Moon now. I'll give it an episode. Wow, it's just so much more interesting.

I feel like it's got any right to be. Yeah. Drachni should have been a film. I don't know really.

Because I think it's six episodes long but there's three out at the moment. They're all about 45 to 50 minutes. That would have been the film. And I think that if there's three episodes left of story, there hasn't been a point where I've been like, oh I would have gotten rid of that bit.

So I think with any, with the film versus series thing, I always say a series because you get more of it. But quite a lot of times a bit like we were in the time earlier in the year, you get a bit of filler episodes. Or it's like the Doctor Who kind of algorithm of episode one and two is essential to the plot. Then there's 10 episodes, then 11 and 12.

You know, back to the plot again, there's all those episodes in between that don't really mean anything. But obviously, you know, TV's kind of evolved a bit since then. But yeah, Moonknife, if you've not watched it, maybe wait until episode six comes out in three weeks time. That'd be such a good six hours on a Sunday morning, just back for a little.

I like to binge shows. I hate it when he made me wait a week. Would you be interested in it once it's all out? I like Oscar Isaac's.

The last man standing in Hollywood for me. I do think he's really good at it. He's the only manly man. He's probably not even that fucking manly if you're not an in person.

He's probably about five foot five and really, you know, like- He seems on it. He seems nice. Yeah, I've just got a thing with men children. I can't abide in Hollywood.

The famous man child. Don't get me started. I just, I just, because that's the Hollywood way. All the men are like, like see Coogan says in the trip.

They're all grown up with little boys with little faces. Dune should have been my bag. I know, he needs to watch it. I won't watch it because he can't be that character.

He can't be. I mean, he might be really good in it. You know, but I've not watched it because I've not even watched French this batch because of that. So I just fucking can't stand the guy.

You know, he looks like me when I was 12 trying to grow a fucking tach. Just like, anyway. Just as an aside. You know, the last time I ever thought, that's a man.

That's a man. That's a man's man. Was Lord of the Rings legal, Martin. Yeah.

That's a man right there. You're talking to a man now. That's a fucking man. That's a grown up man.

That's a grown up. He knows all about mortgages. He's a fucking grown up man. He knows how to change his oil.

Yes, he knows. He probably ought to like paint a room. That's a man. You know, rewire a plug for people to do that.

He knows how to do that. He should still do that. That's all in. That's good.

Anyway, let's get back on wrestling. We're going off-piste. It's more a useful learning how to do a plug than have a wedding, which he did in school. I did in school as well.

Lessons on how to have a wedding. Not the actual ceremony, but be told as how it worked. I think I was another of the bride. I think.

It's the greenish shit. Well, before Lessons on. It went off for a while. Oh, yeah.

Don't know how to open a bank account or book cheers for the info and how to get married. Do it to a self-sessment tax return or you don't even know that. Is that all that shit that you have to learn? No, it's in the 90s.

That would be a really funny parody, though. Do a hairspray song, but feel like, well, they'd be even funnier now. Should we crack on my wrestling? No.

So not really watch too much. I've got a bone to pick to start with. With me? No, not with you.

Well, I want your opinion on it. Now, I have a really weird thing about feeling like and paying for something twice. So if I say, for example, if Disney Plus is a great example of this before I get to the actual example, so Disney Plus decided to put their new films on for like 20 quid or something. So it's like Disney Plus plus or whatever, the premium.

So if you want to watch it, if it's come out of the cinema, but you want to watch it on Disney Plus, you can do that. And it's like, well, no, I've subscribed to Disney Plus, so I'm not fucking paying you more money to watch Mulan. It's not happening. But I'll watch it when I did enjoy it.

However, my point for this is New Japan World. And I'm scared it's setting a precedent here. So when you sit right is this weekend, the pay-per-u card looks great. And yet it's behind a pay-well on New Japan World.

I know WrestleKingdom is not behind a pay-well. The one everybody wants to fucking watch. And you're doing this, you know, and I know it's strong and I love strong. Don't get me wrong, but it's not an A-grade pay-per-view.

It's not like it's, you know, the new I do, I do, I do a GP headweight championship. Or a card is in it or anything like that. Actually, I might be grossly lying there because he wasn't one of them. But I just have a really, oh, yes, the main event's obviously Moxley and Osprey, which is a great match.

Well, the rest of it is just like the other ones that they've been giving away for free. And it's not going up for 18 days. And you know how quickly this wrestling game changes and how quickly it moves. Like in 18 days, you know, fucking New Japan might not even be a thing.

Obviously that's a massive overage, but you know what I mean. By the time it goes on to New Japan world, I'm not going to be remotely interested in it. So I'm scared that if this goes well, your Wrestle Kingdoms and your Don Taku's and your G1 fight, your G1 in general might start going on behind this pay-world thing, which sucks if that's the case. But I mean, would you be asking that kind of thing?

I think it's to be expected. I think there's only a finite amount of people. I think all of the subscription platforms are going to do it because they're going to be able to do it. So all of the subscription platforms are going to do it because only finite amount of people who are actually going to sign up for stuff.

And once that hits a plateau and some call and some go and it never really goes up, they're going to start thinking of other ways to make money because it's business. Like Netflix, for example, they don't charge extra, but they just keep putting the money up. I saw someone post a screenshot of an email. I don't know if I mentioned it saying, your Netflix is going up to 1599 a month and it was someone from the UK.

I was like, I've not had that email. Well, they got like loads of accounts or something. No, it was just 1599 a month like we're putting it up again. So I think it's 1099 or something now.

Or maybe 1599 a month. It's a lot of that. I think I start to reconsider whether it's actually watching Netflix that much. I watch a little bit of Disney Plus.

Disney Plus I'm all over again. I sign up to Apple TV every now and again, but then I have to unsubscribe because they don't get content quick enough. Amazon Prime, I'm always going to get that because I like postage situation. Yeah.

But like Netflix is not like that. But like, yeah, Netflix is not like that. It's not like that. Isn't it?

So we'll see whether that comes through or whatever they put my, everyone's up to that. That's on the map because that's like nearly as much as like a sports channel for a year. It's crazy. It's crazy.

It's not that much. Like I say, I've barely watched Netflix ages. Yeah. I mean, I'm in full like playoff kind of NBA mode now.

Sorry, Brian. Oh, yeah. Sorry, Brian. Yeah, it's like is an even in the playing.

That sucks for him. I know you're laughing. No, I know you're laughing. I know you're laughing.

No, I told you it's a bit of a fall from the race. It is shit though. And like just to quickly speak on that from what I've seen and Brian do to you is if I'm wrong on this. But like Russell Westbrook came out like blame the coach and then he got sacked.

It's like Westbrook's not been on a winning team in about 10 years. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like he's playing for the Wizards last year. And it's not his fault.

Like he's turning the ball over and watching some Wizards. Yeah, please. It's the Wizards sleeve. That's the mascot.

Big Wizard sleeve. Fucking hell. I think it's shiny. It's bad.

It's like the MK Dons over it. Oh, Jesus Christ. What the fuck is that? I don't know.

Awful. Just absolutely dreadful. Awful. I was thinking about Wizard sleeve now.

Oh, it's had a funny, isn't it? Oh, this show is going off the rails already. Wish there was more stuff for men's dicks like that. I could have a good laugh at.

What do you mean? Because like Wizard sleeve throwing a match stick up in Ali. Like, axe wound. Well, yeah, but I think that's hilarious.

Yeah, that was more shit for dicks. I think there is. But there's the body and funny. Because body humor comes from mostly from men from back in the day.

I'm sure there's been some really funny things women have said. We don't tend to hear it. But I want some good fucking words for Willy. That's offensive but funny.

So not something like trouser snake, which is like... Well, that's his component. Yeah, yeah. No man's ever going to be like, oh fucking hell, trouser snake, how dare you?

Stop, please. I'm really offended by that. I don't know. There's got to be some funny ones.

It's like the problem is then you're getting in the realms of... You're getting realms of micro penis, aren't you? Micro penis. Tiny dick.

That's enough to make any man cry. Anyway. I'm going to get a top up on that. Yes, please.

I'll take a top up. There's the Willy's guys. I think Willy's quite funny. Yeah.

You don't hear a good whip. Once you get past the age of like 14, Willy kind of dies out. Until you get into your 30s again, it's like, oh, Willy. Like that.

Like laughing away at it. Anyway, wrestling. If you didn't think we were wrestling podcast, let's drag it back. So dynamite.

Watch dynamite last night. Had a very good time. Didn't see anything beforehand, which is great. I'm kind of dipping my toe unfortunately back into looking at Twitter.

And I've had a few things like spoilt for me again. And I'm just like, stop doing this. You're a dick. You're an absolute idiot.

But what wasn't spoilt for me was the ending, which I'll get to. Yeah. Before going in, I knew there was going to be an overrun, which was weird. And I always think that's the end of the day.

I always think over and away, but it's like WWE trick to try and boost their ratings a bit. So maybe if it comes over a million, like considerably over a million, like 1.1 or something like that, then buy that on the overrun. I always think that's a really weird strategy. Like when WWE used to do it all the time.

I don't understand. I saw that like I saw Cairns tweet saying, oh, we've got an extra couple of minutes tonight. It might be five minutes. It might be like- Didn't you say just a couple of minutes?

Yeah, he said there's an overrun. He said he couldn't, he wasn't sure how long that overrun was going to be or something anyway. Well, that's a bit weird. I don't get the tactic on that.

I'll tell you the tactic. Well, so interestingly enough, I looked at Twitter after the fact that the rest of them were over guys and a few things like that. And they were saying like, oh, it's your DVR in it. It's set your DVR for half an hour after.

Oh, right. And I was like, Jesus Christ. I was like, how long, you know? And then once the show started, because I thought Suzuki and Joe would go on first.

And they said, oh, main events, Suzuki versus Joe's. Oh, Jesus, okay. Awesome. And actual J-Mozie normally does, predicting stuff, hence why he gambles.

Saying punk was going to be on first and lower the hold, outcomes bunk, in another great match with Penner. I could probably have a good match with Penner. Like right now, out of shape, no training. I bet I would have a reasonable match with Penner if he was just talking me through shit.

And I could just stand there and he would just like run around me. Make you look good. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

And every now and again, I'd just close line him and it'd be better than the Vince Pat McAfee that way. But yeah, another fantastic show. No tag team title change, which was a massive shock to me. I thought Red Dragon would take in that.

But it looks like we're going to get a, because double the nothing's not that far away. It's like next month, which is absolutely crazy. Absolutely crazy to me. But it looks like we're going to get a triple threat.

Maybe that, but this is based on the show. I've not read anything. I'm not ruining anything. But FTR comes out.

So FTR, Red Dragon and Jurassic Express triple threat match for the titles. And then they've got to go to FTR again. So they've got all of them. And that's my opinion, obviously.

But yeah, but we get Suzuki Joe and it was great. It was just like, I feel like the crowd, the crowd were fantastic. New Orleans crowd fantastic. AW crowd in general, they're just brilliant.

They're just there to have a good time. And it's not, you know, it's not about booing people or cheering people at us so much. Because you know, even the heels get a cheer unless you're MGF, you're never going to get a cheer because he is so heinous, but he's so enjoyable to do it. But the whole crowd are just like into what's going on.

And everybody, you know, they're doing, who's house swerves house for the swerve, Keith Lee, Hobstax match, even though Stax is from that hometown, which did a great video for afterwards. If you've not seen that, go and look at that. And when it went off, Regal got cursed. It's worth it just for that.

I won't say more. That was a great one. It's so good for it. It's so cool.

Those like after they should do that, but I know they do it every now and again, but they tend to do it when somebody like Eddie Kingston has taken a shot at WWE. That's where they put it up. But they should, I think they should put that up like the 15 minutes after it goes off a lot more regularly. But this is probably one of the times they can do it because they're not doing rampage the same night.

Rampage is live on Friday. So maybe they normally can't do that because then you'd see people in the main event at Rampage. Yeah. Anyway, so yeah, so main event as I tweeted before Joe shoulder looked like it had been cooked.

It looked like a really tender, tasty steak. Oh my God. It was just a little bit blue. And this was like, this was five minutes in because Suzuki's like chess laps are the best because everyone else does that thing.

They cross their hand over and smack it. The Ric Flair style chop. Suzuki's is like a 12 to 6 elbow. Yeah.

And it's just down down the body. And it's just like they both just stood each other. And that went on for most of it in five, ten minutes of them just smacking each other. And they did three more segment spots for the rest of the match.

And Suzuki like a sniper, same spot every time. Oh my God. Joe was like right shoulder, left shoulder, left shoulder from my right there. Just looked like it was, it was tasty.

It was so disgusting. But a great match. Joe wins, which I think everybody thought Joe was going to win. But then we get this.

So there's no time. So considering like they had an over on and they were allowed an over on, but the only in two minutes. They fit a lot into like two minutes. Oh yeah.

So why are they doing over on? So historically with wrestling and over ons, it's been to either mess with somebody's ratings or piggyback. So WWE did this a couple of years ago where they would do like a five minute over on because they were leading into a popular show. So say like Big Bang Theory replays on TNT or TBS, then it leads into Dynamite because the way America, so the UK and American TV, the way they do afterwards is different.

So you've got, you know, in the last five minutes of a show, you've got an advert break, then it comes back for like 10 seconds or something like that. Just one last joke. And then you straight into Dynamite. So people are watching that and they've not quite like turned the channel by the time Dynamite started.

So then the first segment of Dynamite is classed as like 1.6 million or something like that. Which they get rid of anyway. But the over on is to try and do something like that. So if everybody's tuning in for like, you know, it's like, but if there's a popular film on or something after the show and you get a couple of them and they overrun for a couple of you get people tuning in for that thing and the goal shit is it on?

Yeah. Because there's so many times when I've done that and the pastor I've gone like, well, why is it not on? And it's still, why is Top Gear still on? Yeah.

When I'm trying to watch that, you know what I'm doing? Yeah. It happens a lot. I was a lot on BBC.

BBC always over, like a minute sometimes and even like a live show. So that's like a minute late. And that's a bit weird. That's why.

Yeah. I'm always thinking about Strictly Comdanson. Well, that's what it's like. Wait, wait, wait, Strictly Comdanson's a common.

There's always a fucking show over on it. And because Strictly is the biggest show on TV, people will tune in and the last 10 seconds of Top Gear will get. Yeah. And then they can say, oh, Top Gear this week, Drew, did it, did it.

And that's the problem with your fake stuff is you fake it. But I don't know why they announced it over on Straight Away. I was thinking, because I didn't know Joe and Suzuki were in the main event. So I don't know why.

So then, you know, when during the show, we say it's the main event. I'm like, all right. Okay, that's why they've got an over on because they want to go. They've got a lot to fit in, but they want a decent amount of time for the main event.

So Suzuki gets pinned. You know, the guy, the ring, the Bobby, the, the, uh, the, uh, the way, the ring announcer announces some of Joe and it's straight into Sanjay.unlee for pissing about. I'm like, fuck you, them two have just gone to war. Suzuki gets pinned and he just rolls out the ring and that's it.

I'm like, fuck off. So Straight Away, my back was up on this. Straight Away. Because as, you know, I like J.L.E.

for the likes on Jay, don't like Sanjay, don't like Sanjay, don't like him, you know, when I actually watched him in CNA. But they're doing this fucking stupid thing like, oh, we've got a present for you. It's like, what, what are you talking about? You didn't know he was going to beat Suzuki.

So that jagged me out of it as well. And then they open the box and it's just, it was actually quite funny. They've got like a little box and Sanjay, don't rip his thing off and he's just leafles, middle finger coming out of it. That's quite funny.

Then the lights go out and it's like, okay, they're actually doing something here. Because the lights have gone out. Because that's what you always think is when the lights go out, something good is going to happen when the lights come back up. Yeah, of course.

And the crowd tried, bless them. They tried, but the problem with turning the lights out is that's why they're turning the lights out is you need a shock reaction when they turn back on. And what you can't do is turn the lights on. And then when they come back on, no matter how imposing or how good they might be in the future, because we don't know, it didn't look good, but we don't know.

You can't have somebody that nobody knows who it is. Nobody knows that this guy used to play for the Dallas Mavericks. Nobody, nobody knows that. This expast will play it.

Now, he looks imposing and it's great. And, you know, from looking at the observant stuff, we know why they've done this. And you can guess why they've done it, which is why it's getting a lot of this. It was a WWE segment, basically.

Yeah. What you can't turn the lights on and turn it off and turn it back on. And after somebody in the ring, that nobody knows what's happening. The point we agree is basic.

That's a basic thing. He said not for disappointment. A-W used on that before. That I can remember, right?

And think about what I'm about to say is that they turn the lights off and turn them back on to debut the Dark Order way back when it first started. And nobody in that crowd knew who Evil Uno or Stu Grayson were. Nobody knew. And then they started doing cool moves and they were like, oh shit, okay, this is cool.

But like when it came on, you have Evil Uno in that outfit and Stu Grayson with the paint on his face and people like what the fuck's this. And then why is Evil Uno got all these like minions that address like him? And he sat on him. Like it was a really weird segment.

And obviously, you know, everybody knows Evil Uno and Stu Grayson are now. But that's the same sort of feeling I got with this, is that nobody knew the fuck this person was. And it didn't matter that J.L.E.ful and Sanjay got with her with him. Yeah.

I completely, I mean, I didn't watch this while it was happening. I've seen it after the fact. It is very WWE. It is.

And, you know, whether they want to win over an Indian audience, you know, of course, that's great. Well, I still think you should build people up and you should introduce them in the right way. That isn't... Ta-da!

This is why we're on an extra late, guys. But not much you've just seen by these two legends. Well, here's why we're really here, this guy. It's like it's very Vince McMahon thing to do that.

Yeah. Telling you that you should give a shit about someone you don't fucking know. And I don't watch like that. I don't like being told what to do.

And I don't like being told how to react. It's like something needs to be done to prove that it's good enough to react to. Yeah. Or that person has to come out swinging.

Yeah, yeah. Which she didn't. They've got to do something. There's got to be a reason.

There's got to be an impact to it. And it's just very lazy. It's really fucking lazy to me. Yeah, and that's the problem.

And apparently they've had this guy signed since September. And I've got an Indian deal, an Indian TV deal. But like Discovery who have merged with Time Warner. Apparently it's something to do with that.

Like they've got the Indian right or something like that. So he won an Indian star who can speak Hindi. He can speak Hindi. So I don't can speak Hindi.

So business wise it makes a low descent. And I don't mind. Because that's just a smart way of doing business. It's not, you know, that's what we do.

We get one Mexican wrestler and one UK wrestler and then one. You know, that sort of stuff can still be done well. It doesn't have to be dog shit. And after Samoa Joe and Suzuki.

Because I saw a few things as well. About like Joe and Suzuki like being on the show and people being excited for it. And obviously all the drones come out and go, no, I thought AW just would just poke fun at WWE for just having legends on the show all the time. So there's a difference.

I'm about to tell you the fucking difference right now. These two are professional wrestlers and they are wrestling legends. This ain't fucking ultimate warrior. Shaking the rope and jumping on somebody.

These are two people who have basically built up a reputation over like 20 years for beating the fuck out of people. One of them being Samoa Joe is an absolute tank and always has been. Hence why his main chances Joe is going to kill you. The other one was a three time pancreas champion.

Just let that sink in your head. If you don't know what pancreas is, it's Japanese UFC. Suzuki was a three time pancreas champion. That has no pain going through that body whatsoever.

That's why everybody was like up about it. This isn't Goldberg against the Undertaker. When all respects to Undertaker and Goldberg. But, you know, it's not a professional wrestling match.

It's two old punks trying not to drop each other on the head. Yes, they didn't do a lot of wrestling. It was a lot of slapping. But when people get a bit older, they have to look at Nagata and look at Kojima.

Like Kojima's the machine gun chops. He's got machine gun chops over. It's very, again, it's apples and oranges. It's very, very, very different.

So it's just fucking morons. Of course it is. Of course it is morons. The more people who get mad about stuff, it seems crazy because the legends, I always use, when I was like well into WWE, I always use to complain about the older guys coming back.

However, now that I'm removed from it, I completely understand why they do bring them back. Because there's such an appetite out there for people who grew up watching wrestling to see, you know, in WWE's words, they love to say it larger than life characters. That's just what we all grew up on. You know, looking at the wrestling figures that were out when I was really young, when it was Hogan, a British bulldog, you know, like that, the figures that like my cousin had.

These were like huge men. And so I get, WWE love that. They love nostalgia. And for them, nostalgia is just the big guys.

Like, they've not got, it was never about pro wrestling. It was always about, you know, pomp and circumstance and these huge characters. So for them to get legends back, they're the legends. But a company like AEW to have so called legends on, they're wrestlers.

And that's the difference. And the end result you get in the ring is completely different. But the impact it has on the fans is the same. Like everyone's buzzing.

The WWE fans are buzzing when they see Goldberg. Yeah. Yeah. Like, I used to attract how many people give a fuck.

Because I was like, why is Goldberg in? Especially because of the standard. Yeah. We would have never.

We would have never really, it wasn't really out of bag. No, of course it wasn't. But like, we would have never have complained. Nobody.

No WWE fan. No sports entertainment fan. Would have complained about legends coming back. If it was any good, like any good at all.

Because like, nobody, nobody complained as far as I know that Austin was the main event of Night One. No. Apart from Ronda Rousey. Who apparently threw her own child's toys out of their own prom.

You know, and so. She's on line though, pretty great, didn't she? Yeah, because she remembered where a bread's for. Because she ain't got anything else.

You know, she's not going to TV shows, there's no films anymore. She's not starring in Expendables 10. You know, like, she was in an Expendables film once. She's not doing that anymore.

So she knows exactly where a bread's for if she wants a couple of milli-year. So she did fall in line really quick. But you could have made an argument that Charlotte and Rousey should have gone last if the Austin thing was shit. Was it shit?

No, it wasn't. It was awesome. And they actually had our match where we got suplexed on the concrete. You know, so if legends get brought back and it's good, no one's going to complain.

But the whole complaint at the time when we were complaining about WWE is that they'd bring these legends back and it'd be shit. Goldberg in a five minute match where he gets like, spear Jack Hammer once, you're freaking like, oh, see you later, Bray. But the only time he ever got booed was WrestleMania and stuff where it was the international crowd and you have core American wrestling fans who would go. You know, the people who like can, who are mad enough to pay to go were the only ones booing him as soon as they went on tour.

Oh, yeah. It was all cheers and like a hero as well from again. So it just shows you that it, like say, it's completely different things. The more I think about like, what's the guy called?

Sorry, who debuted on AWS tonight? I don't know. It's a sort of shurran thing or something like that. Well, funnily enough, if we are going to do like, we know Tony Collins in a very odd place, mentally at the moment.

Yeah, he's not doing well, is he? No, I mean, I don't know. I don't know what's going on. I mean, that's probably being a bit unfair.

Well, after all, we were saying last week with his frigging weird shit about the bots and all that stuff, you know, like he's always been quite vocal about WWE, even though we would much rather he wasn't. Yeah. The debuting of the ex-fasket ball play last night is the antithesis of Vere. Yeah.

Vere was coming, Vere is coming, Vere is coming, Vere is coming. And Tony candid the opposite and just went, bang this. It feels like that's almost a choice that you made of going, I'm not going to tell you he's coming for weeks. Not going to give you a teaser, he's just here.

That's how you do it. That's how you debut a person. Yeah. And I think, you know, segment wise, was it about segment?

No, I think if I was being picky, I think there should have been a moment in the ring between Suzuki and Joe. I think Suzuki shouldn't have just got pinned and then rolled out the ring. Oh. You know, and then you saw him in the background like running into the back pretty much to get out of the way.

Yeah. You know, there should have been a bit of that and they shouldn't turn the lights off. Like they should have said, oh, we've got one more present for you as well. Music hits and outcomes this monster.

Yeah. There's nothing anybody would have given up then and then like he just beats Joe up and there you go. Yeah. But it's the turn the lights off.

Lights come back on in the crowd go, eh? Yeah. I know it's very much. Yeah, it's just weird.

I think the thing is there's probably some fatigue at the moment of debuting another person. Yeah. That isn't a fucking woman who they need to go do with or just use the way around. We have another awful women's match.

Really? Awful, botch ridden women's match between Marina Shafir and Sky Blue. And bless Sky Blue. And I've seen...

Sky Blue's pretty good, I thought. Well, Marina Shafir, I've seen her have a good match. I watched that blood spore a couple of months ago and she was in that and she was like, she's an MMA fighter. She was part of that little clicking NXT, not the four horse women.

She didn't quite get in there. But she was like in and around. Married to Roderick Strong and it was awful. It was an absolute shit show.

But she's, you know, it seemed all right. But again, it's just another women's match where it's a shit show. But I might be being really ignorant here. But why am I in that match?

They've got like some... That's not top tier AW women's division talent. No, but the day do you mean Marina Shafir is because she's going against Jade Kargill? That should be on that one that's on a fucking Monday night.

Well, that's what she has been on. Shafir has been on that for ages. I don't think they've got like some better female talent than they still need. Still need to put some effort in.

You know, the people who are supposedly at the top of that division, aren't getting any airtime again. And it's like, why are you fanning about? It's like just throwing scraps to the stabbing. Oh, you two get shot this week.

Great for them to. I thought it was such a great opportunity. And I don't think you should take that away from them. But you need to have your fucking Brit bakers on and your Ruby sohose.

And you need to keep telling us that they're stars. By having two people on who no one's really got behind you and has anything to cheer for or are not. It doesn't help the women's division in any way at all. If you're going to have them two on, there should have been another women's match that is the top tier people.

Just to keep reminding us, because we have to keep being reminded, who's the fucking stars here? You know what we're getting behind? What's the story? Who we booing, who we cheering?

And it's that I find room for straight in the last few weeks. I've been like, who fucking these people? Why is Red Velvet on a show? Like I'm not being funny, but she...

Like I said to you, and I don't think I said it on the show. And I know again, I'm really sorry if this sounds unfair. I've seen everything Red Velvet's got to offer me now, everything. And she has had some great matches.

But unfortunately, that character needs a fucking complete redo. And everything that I've seen, it's plateaued. It's not gotten any better. It's not gotten any worse.

But it has to completely start again. Which may have happened. Oh really? So Jade Kargill's baddie section.

Yes. Which is the thing that she keeps going on about. So I call where my baddies at and it's just a rower like hers that they picked up. She tweets out to get them, you know.
