Björn Ekblom kom till Hammarby 1963 som konditionstränare och såg till att få en otränad Nacka i form för spel efter åren i Italien. Han figurerade ideellt i olika roller i Hammarby Fotboll i närmare 50 år. I yrkeslivet är professor Ekblom en av de viktigaste personerna inom idrottsmedicin.
