197: How Owners Step Back Without Breaking the Business (Part 1)

from Grow With Purpose · host Joey Brannon

Billy Swanson spent years treating ministry and business as two separate things that were in conflict with each other. He came back from a family vacation in North Carolina with a new purpose statement, a new vision statement, and a new mission statement, and then called a meeting to tell his employees they no longer had a job at the company they knew. Instead they could work for a new company with a different standard for getting the job done. From here on, if a customer was not compelled to tell somebody about their experience, the mission was not accomplished. Joey and Billy get into the redefinition, the Comfort Care department that came out of it, and the work of getting out of the way so the business could run without him.IN THIS EPISODE, YOU’LL LEARN:• Why the business and the calling are not two competing jobs.• How to write a mission your team can pass or fail on a given day.• Why a three-week vacation is the test of whether you can step back.• What a weekly financial statement catches that a monthly one buries.DOWNLOAD THE LEADERSHIP GUIDE:‍ ‍Episode 197 - How Owners Step Back Without Breaking the BusinessHELP US IMPROVE THE SHOW: Take our 30 second Survey📞 Have a question?
