#198 - What could a joint UEFA-Concacaf Nations League look like?

We return with episode 198, and we ask the following: what would a joint UEFA-Concacaf Nations League look like? With recent reporting that a joint Nations League was being discussed, we take the proposal and run with it. How would the various leagues be divided? More importantly, how will it help the USMNT and the USWNT? First, the men’s tournament is up for discussion, where the USMNT would get a chance to test their mettle against some stiff competition from Europe. It could really help them prepare for World Cup qualifying and the World Cup. But, it would also be intriguing to see some European teams have to travel to the Caribbean or Central America for Nations League matches. We also look at how the women’s side would shape up, and for the USWNT, it would be business as usual playing matches against some of the best in the world. They would get some fantastic matchups, and it would be intriguing to have those matchups be in a group stage and tournament format. It would also be a massive test for other teams in Concacaf who are trying to improve their teams (or in some cases, reactive them), and it could be a way for some of the smaller teams to develop their women’s programs.
