TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Hey, ladies. Welcome to episode number 199 of the She's Building Your Empire podcast. So, I'm so excited. I cannot believe we already had 199 episodes.

That is crazy. So, welcome. Thank you so much for being here today. We've had a really fun August.

We've been actually talking about product development for the last, this will be our fifth week in a row. So, today it's going to be all focused on your Q&A. Basically, any question you have, I want to help you figure out what you need to know, what you need to do, what's holding you back before you create your next digital product. All right?

So, with that said, we have some questions that people started posting in the group that I'll kind of go over. If you have any questions while you're on here, please ask them. If you're watching the replay, please ask them and we will try to make sure we get those answers to you as well. All right?

So, let's basically dive in. And the whole point about this is how do we create and plan this digital product, right? How do we go from idea to product, right? And that was a couple of the questions that I had seen people asking in the group.

So, that's a really great place I think to start today. So, Sealy asked in the group, do you think it's best to develop products after you consult with clients or create what we want and then find clients? And I wrote it back and I said, oh my goodness, I couldn't love this question more. So, here's what I want to tell you.

Now, I want you to go back to the analogy of, you know, put on your own oxygen mask before you put on somebody else's. And the reason that I want you to be thinking about that is I want you to know that you're going to be looking at what do you want to do? What do you want to serve? What do you want to teach about?

Okay? You need to know all of that information before you can really decide who you want to serve, right? I want you to do something that you love because if you decide, okay, my person needs this from me and you're not happy teaching that, it's not going to be something fun for you, right? You have to wake up every day and want to teach this.

Last night I did a webinar for somebody else's audience and the person that was hosting it such as me, your energy is just contagious. And I hear that a lot and my response to that is because I love what I do. So I get really excited when I'm teaching it. Okay?

I want you to be thinking about that as well. If you love what you do, your energy will come through with your clients as well. So, Sealy and for anybody else that's listening, I want you to find something that you love doing and then I want you to talk to potential clients and see what they want to hear from you in those areas. Does that make sense?

So you asked a great question and I think you're going to do both but you're going to start with you. You're going to figure out what's your passion, what you want to do and then you're going to say to your people, what do you want to hear from me? This, this or this? So I do a lot of polls in the Facebook group and when I poll, I'm asking like maybe four topics.

What do you want to hear from me? Now every one of those topics is something that I want to teach on something that I love teaching. So I don't care which one people pick because I'm going to want to teach that. So don't put in things that you can do but you don't love to do it, right?

So start with you, figure out what those answers are and then approach those people and ask them what they want. So she had said, you know, should I be consulting? Yes, you should absolutely do some market research after you know what you want to do, figure out what they're looking for and then go from there. All right.

So again, that was such a great question. I'm so glad you asked it. Now, Michelle asked, how do you go from idea to product? Okay, which is I would say pretty similar to Celie's question.

So kind of goes hand in hand. Same thing I just said to Celie is going to apply to Michelle. You need to figure out all of that information before you decide, okay, what do people want from me? Now, I would not just go, oh, I love to teach this.

So that's what I'm going to specifically share. I would definitely want to make sure that you have an idea, right? And then you talk to your perfect person because I think we forget how much we've learned and how we would teach that. So I see Maria just doing and Maria launched a product recently and she said, oh my goodness, I was totally over their heads.

And of course she was because she's so knowledgeable in her skill set that it's hard to remember where we need to go, you know, what we need to teach them. So, and I don't want to say this in a mean way, but sometimes you kind of have to like dumb it down because you were that person not that long ago going, this is so hard. I don't get this, right? So yeah, I see Maria's on here right now and she, what I love about her is she jumped in, she went for it, she did a beta test group and she's learned so much information now to make that product even better.

And because it was a program where there was group coaching involved, she was able to actually help them go a little bit deeper and then answer their questions. So it was a win-win for everybody. So Maria did phenomenal. I'm super excited for her and she gets to relaunch that as well.

So she was one of our recent members in this past Prophet Mastermind, which, oh, sorry, I know you last me for a second. So the Prophet Mastermind, usually on Wednesday, it's my favorite day because I get to do all my coaching calls after. Today is the last day of our Prophet Mastermind. I'm going to be so sad.

We've had an incredible group of 20 women and we're wrapping up today. So very sad to be done with the program, but so fun to watch and what they've accomplished in these last 90 days. So it'll be a bittersweet day today. So oh, Maria, thank you so much.

I appreciate you saying that. Okay. Oh, and Julie just made a good point. She said, you know, sometimes this is such a good point.

Sometimes it's not too hard. It's too much. And I was actually talking with a client today who I was like, listen, this program is phenomenal. It could be a little intimidating for people.

It could be a little scary for them to go almost like you're showing them. You don't know all of this. You have to learn all of this and it can be very, very intimidating. So Julie, that is such a phenomenal point.

I'm so happy that you brought that up because you think you're over delivering sometimes and what's happening is we actually are scaring and intimidating our people and they're just not ready for it yet. So, you know, give them the one on one course first. Don't give them all four years in college, right? Like don't overwhelm them.

Give them what they need now and let them continue when the time is right. Okay. Another great question was how much money do I need to go into a launch? Okay.

So I get this question a lot and it is a pretty big range. Okay. So that's the good news. You could do it with zero dollars.

I just recently had somebody that I brought on as a client within seven days of watching my training videos from the launch to 90 course. She bought in $700 and she spent zero like literally she did my course but she did not. What I'm saying is she didn't have to go out and get certain software or like she didn't have to buy things to make money. She's posting something in a small group.

She emailed out specific people, used her personal Facebook page, used her fan page is using a group. So you can truly start with zero dollars. Now if you have more money to invest, great because there are things that you can absolutely invest in and take you to the next level but you do not have to. Okay.

So it's really easy to compare ourselves and go like, oh but her launch is doing so much better than mine. Well, if she hired a Facebook ad strategist and you maybe are doing it on your own, you may see different results. Okay. Unless you are, it was at some of those things.

So you do not have to be able to invest anything. I started doing my own Facebook ads. I started doing my own copywriting. Those are things I did on my own bootstrapping in the beginning.

These days, no, I'm not doing that stuff. Okay. And I'm having bigger launches than I used to. But you do not have to.

We all have to start somewhere, right? We, when I talked to Rick C. We did an interview together on my fan page and she said, everybody looks at everybody else and sees a hundred thousand followers or 10,000 or a million and we go, think like, I could never be like that. But they all started at zero, right?

We all had to go out and announce, we've got this brand new page, would you go like it, right? Would you follow me? So don't look at somebody and think, oh, but that's because they have this or they have that. Stop comparing yourself and know that you can do it too.

So look at them as inspiration and go, if they can do it, I can do it. All right. This whole week and next week, I'm going to be doing interviews right on my fan page with other guest experts. I'm actually interviewing a bunch of my friends that are in my mastermind.

We're going to mastermind together, not one that I host. And they're all digital entrepreneurs sharing their stories, trying to really inspire you, show you what's possible. Yesterday, Britt Siva jumped on and 14 months ago was a hair stylist. And 14 months later, she's in a multiple six figure online business, having no business experience, no following.

She said, she's like, I just knew a couple of people locally. It was never something that I was doing out in the public in the online space. So if you're worried about being too late to the game, forget about it and don't let that stop you. Okay.

So two more questions before we wrap up today. So with that said, how much money? I'm telling you zero. You can do it now.

Do you have to have previous experience? Britt was a hairstylist. She didn't do anything online. That was not her thing.

I don't think you need to be. I think you truly can be starting from scratch and seeing the results you want and not that much time. All right. Hey, Jamie, Joe, thanks for joining us.

So with that said, I also want to talk to you about one of the profit mastermind members, Amber. Amber, I definitely want to interview and share with you guys. Same thing with Maria because you need to hear from them what they've done and how they've done it. And Amber is somebody in the group that she was working for an MLM and she was selling somebody else's product.

She came into the profit mastermind looking to really launch something that was her own. And as she was just talking about it and sharing information with people, people were asking her, how do I sign up for that beta test group that's coming up? And she ended up, we joked that she has a beta beta test group because she now started selling the product before she was even planning on doing the beta test group. So she was somebody able to quickly make money while she was launching her product and learning.

She's been doing it now for almost 30 days. And she said, I have so much information that I can now go back, retweet that product and do it again, maybe charge more, you know, or maybe just do it that much better and impress those clients that much more. Okay. So don't be worried and think, how do I do this?

This is not what I do. It wasn't what Amber was doing. It wasn't what Maria was doing, right? Everybody's jumping in.

I see Patricia on here. Patricia launched a yoga membership site, the yoga suites, phenomenal, a membership site of something that she wasn't doing this at that time, but she knew it was something that she wanted to do. And she talked with her people and she found out that they wanted this library of yoga training so they could go and access it anytime from their living room, right? So definitely be thinking of like use those people as inspiration and not, oh, well, they can do it because of this or because of that.

No, I promise you 90 days ago, they were thinking the same thing. So all of these women did the launch in 90 challenge that we are coming back up on here now, September 11. So if you are not signed up for the challenge yet, please make sure that you do so. If you want to be really serious about ending 2017 with a bang.

Okay. So before I continue with that, if you guys have any other questions, please post them in the comments. I'll make sure to get to those questions. But let's quickly talk about the challenge while those questions are coming in.

So the night launch in 90 challenge starts September 11th, Monday through Friday. I'll be jumping on here live every day at noon central. You will be getting an email sent to your inbox that morning. So you can't make it live.

No worries. But make sure you go sign up. The link is bit.ly slash launched in 90 challenge. I will put it in the comments and in the show notes in the podcast where you go check it out.

Get signed up because we actually have a pre challenge homework assignment for you to check out and just I don't want to say homework because it sounds like I'll have to do something. Just read through it. You'll definitely get inspired to figure out how you can do this moving forward. All right.

So you can also watch those expert videos in the meantime or any of the August series that we've done in the last few weeks. Please make sure to participate in the Facebook group. Introduce yourself when you're in there because we're going to be kicking off very soon. And trust me, my challenges go crazy.

Last time you had over 100 people just in one day posting on day one. All right. So I'm going to introduce yourself in the she's building your empire community. Thank you Jamie Jo.

I appreciate it. I know you participate in a lot of them. So you guys even if you go to the landing page of the information of the challenge, you're going to see like 10 testimonials from Facebook from the challenge last time. You're not going to want to miss it.

And we revamped it. So it's different than the May one. And I think even if you've gone through it, you're going to get so much value out of it this time around. Okay.

All right guys. Have a great rest of your day. You can check out my fan page tomorrow at 1130 central. I'm going to be interviewing Robin Long from the balance life.

She's somebody that has a Pilates membership site that has been serving, I think thousands now every single month. So we're going to be interviewing you tomorrow at 1130 central. All right. Bye everyone.

See you soon.
