In this passionate sermon, Pastor Neil Todman shows how the God of the Bible includes 50 sad songs of lament in the Psalms so in seasons of life which are heart-breaking and overwhelming we have the words of worship to offer to Him. He doesn't shy away from the fact that in our suffering we often have unanswered questions. He then shows how our knowledge of the character of God and his dealings with other people can give us confidence in his faithfulness towards us. Supremely we see his heart for sinners and sufferers in the person of Jesus Christ- God in human flesh, who suffered throughout his life, but supremely on the cross. Finally, drawing from HB Charles, Pastor Neil shows how prayer can turn pain into praise, and how deep sorrow and overwhelming joy can exist in a believer's heart at the same time. Hosted on Acast.
