1st Samuel // 1st Samuel 28 - Saul Consults / Fear the Strangler (Tom McIvor)

This week, Tom McIvor looks at the story of Saul consulting with a medium. Samuel has died and the Lord refuses to respond to Saul's pleas, so in his fear, Saul seeks out a Medium to consult with Samuel from the grave. As Hukanui Bible Church continues our journey through 1st Samuel, Tom talks about fear in the Bible, and how fear can affect us. Tom discusses how when we are controlled by fear, we are trying to turn to our own internal strength, rather than the strength of God. He looks into how this affected Saul when he was faced with the army of the Philistines, and distraught and gripped with fear, he turns to something evil that he has banned from the nation instead of repenting to the Lord and asking for His help.
